LOL- thanks for reminding me on both! I don’t install much, because I don’t like gimmicks. I use avast- it snaps up everything, then let’s me know what it caught!

Exactly how I do it- gmail fetches it- scans it, notifies me if malware or suspicious activity was in any- which they promptly delete- (but gives you an option to fetch it – if you want.)
I can go into email via aol email,and access the news or garbage- but I don’t. However if you do, you don’t have to reload aol, just access the mail portal.
Google gives you plenty of opt out options to avoid data gathering, but you are never totally free of it unless you disable cookies- and good luck with that if you decide to do it!

PW- uninstall aol, and get the email access only.
If you have stuff in your pfc, you will have to put it in a folder, but you (fingers crossed) won’t have to deal with their antics.
The happiest day in my life was when I dumped that herd of idiots! (slow life- right now!!!)

I checked programs installed on mine- and the aol toolbar was recently installed- but not visible. I do not access aol, I use email only- which precludes downloading the entire aol site. I uninstalled it-unfortunately before I actually read what it contained,
But I Know I didn’t install it!
Thanks for the heads up- I will return to my weekly visit to installed programs, to keep an eye on their sneaky asses!
