When it comes to Republicans or Tea Party people, I dismiss them and regard them as being “the enemy”, and close my mind to even considering listening to them. I think of them as WRONG and ignorant right off the bat. We have neighbors that are good friends, and we’ve made it a point to never talk politics to save our friendship, because they love Glenn Beck and quote him verbatim. These people helped us, before politics became as volatile as it has, but these people helped us when we so desperately needed help. These people hate Mexicans – legal or not, and they hate blacks, yet they have a teenage daughter and she has a friend that is Mexican, and they have practically adopted her. The friend comes from a very poor and broken home, and they have that young girl over every weekend, and on school breaks and they take her on vacations. Their actions are not in line with the things that they believe. We also have another friend, Dick, and I’ve written about him here before, but he is a Reagan Republican, yet he voted for Gore and Obama. Dick has the 2 gay daughters, and one of the gay daughters has a partner, and Dick and his wife have a real hard time with the gay thing. But that gay daughter adopted a mixed heritage little boy – he’s Mexican and black – and they absolutely love that little boy, yet they are more worried about that grandchild for him having 2 mommies, over the racial divide. Dick is the person who bought both of Barack Obama’s books and loaned them to us, and we had to respect that, as we would never ever consider buying books from anyone on the right. Dick does say things and sends things via email that are so extreme right wing, and then my husband, who is much more diplomatic than I will ever be, and then my husband tells Dick to check it out using scopes and politifacts. And Dick does that. Dick and his wife are people who use the “n” word right and left, and they really hate Mexicans and Muslims, yet Dick reads and well, he’s more open-minded than I will ever be. » Posted By javaz On March 16, 2011 @ 3:44 pm Here’s where you all are going to hate me – but Manning, once he signed on the dotted line in joining the military – his ass is OWNED by the military. Yeah, if it happened under Bush, maybe, and I mean maybe, I’d be thinking about it, but really, I’m not so sure about that. It is a sad thing, because Manning is a kid. He did not agree with the military life, and he was a problem, so they sent him to wherever, and they gave him an easy life in military standards. He’s a kid, but military, and he rebelled since they refused to release him, and he sent out over 250,000 memos, and he did not review them first – he sent out a quarter of a million memos without reading them. I really do not know what to think about him. Had it happened under Bush, I’d probably be cheering him. And I think that I’d’ve been wrong in that. When we first arrived in Paris, and we were supposed to be there for a year, and that ended up being 2 years. We ended up living in a home in St. Cloud, which was a suburb of Paris, and close to Versailles, but anyway, when we first arrived we lived 3 blocks from the Eiffel Tower. One night we got a good buzz on from French wine, and took a cab – we asked the driver to take us to a club so that we could dance – and our French wasn’t very good. We ended up in a very high class tittie bar, and I mean it was high class, and when they told us the price for one drink we left – but at least my husband and I got to see some very high class tits! We’re already involved in Iraq and Afghanistan, and we have Teapublicants cutting programs in RED states to balance their budgets, and the budget cuts are hurting education and the poor and the middle class. They are cutting Medicaid and welfare, and they want to cut Medicare and eliminate Social Security. Did we need yet another war? My mother was first generation, meaning she was born here from German immigrants, and as for my father, well, he came over illegally at 10 years old from Canada. It was my mother that always said – all politicians are crooks and she never wanted to vote because of her beliefs, whereby my father browbeat her come election time, and she always relented. Let me tell you, come election time, it was never pleasant in my house. My father used to yell, and my father could yell and scare the bejeebers out of anyone and my mother always had to back down and go with him to vote. It turned me off voting for awhile, oh yes it did. I’m a rebellious person by nature, whereby I’ve never taken orders well, yet amazingly, I did do well when I worked, eventually, when I figured out how to play the game. I never knew who my dad voted for, or if he was a Republican or Democrat, and my poor mother, well, I’m not sure that she ever voted.
