Marc Headley and his wife, Claire, are seeking back pay and overtime that could add up to $1 million each, according to their attorney, Barry Van Sickle. Arizona’s AG is a Democrat, running for Governor, and he’s against the suit, having explained that it’s frivolous, a waste of time and waste of taxpayer money. The current Republican governor is also running to maintain her position this November. Gov. Jan Brewer wants a special session this coming Monday to get clear authority to sue the federal government over the new health care bill. Brewer also wants lawmakers to approve a resolution asking Congress to come up with the cash Arizona needs to keep its health care program running between now and when new federal aid becomes available in 2014. Have you ever been to Bisbee, b’ito? It’s hilly, like San Fransisco, and it’s very artsy, or was when we were down there. There’s a lot of old hippies that have shops, and lots of bars, and we stopped in one bar for a drink whereby it was an old stock trader type thing, with the old chalkboards and all the stocks listed and it was awesome. Isn’t the Copper Queen down there – the famous hotel that still exists and is a fine hotel to stay at – and now that we’re talking about this, I want to go back down there, as Bisbee is awesome, or it was. There’s a museum there, very small, but it explains the history of the town, and how the rich people lived higher up and they dumped their sewage and then there’s photographs of the workers, the miners and their families that lived lower and how they had to place boards over the streets so that they wouldn’t have to step into the sewage running down. There was also another story, from what I remember, whereby the miners tried to unionize, and they rounded up the people and drove them out of town for miles and left them high and dry in the desert. I love Bisbee and haven’t been there in years, but think we should go back but not until next winter.
