He’s been fly-fishing and sadly, he lost our camera in Gros Ventre, and we are thinking them mischievous bears found it and are having a great time taking pics of one another! We’re in a KOA in Bozeman as I need to do laundry and clean the trailer. When I say “roughing it”, Khirad, I mean that we do not have access to water or electric or sewers! We’ve been reading and grilling on the small BBQ and doing lots of hiking and the husband has been fly-fishing and it is totally awesome. I have been catching up on the news, and jeepers, I am so glad to have missed all of that. Amazingly, the national parks – Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, not to mention Jackson Hole, are very crowded, and if a person was unaware, you’d never know that the economy is in such dire straits. It’s wonderful to see so many people out and about and families with kids having a great time. Have a very poor connection and keep getting the dreaded blue screen, but we spent the last week dry-camping in Gros Ventre that’s near Jackson Hole, Wyoming and near The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Have seen several herds of buffalo, antelope, deer and even bald eagles and scary – bears, including Grizzlies. Irwin, Idaho is where are we are and it’s in God’s country – smack dab in the Rockies with the Snake River right across the road. We are desert rats, but to be up here with the pines and snow on the higher elevations, is so totally awesome. God Bless America – where when you travel you see families out and having picnics or kids playing baseball. That’s America, and there isn’t anything whatever to do with politics. OMG. You know when I was a lowly draftsmen way back when before computers, we had to buy these curved plastic tools, for drafting, and the men called them twats! They were sort of like that image, and this was back when women were rare in the field. LOL I put up with a lot of shit, but it paid off. They sat me right in front of the men’s bathroom, and there was no bathroom for women, so I had to use the front bathroom meant for customers. But the men, back in them days, their bathroom was wide open, no doors or anything, and I still find this funny – is the guys used to unzip their pants and put their finger in the fly opening and then yell out to me and see what they had! Maybe you had to be there, but working with all men as a draftsmen, had it’s moments that were fun. And I was younger then, and looked good, so there were also some very bad times, but mainly my memories are good ones. In fact, my parents were doctor-dodgers, and look what happened with them – dad died at 66 and mom at 69 – and had they gone to the doctor for annual physicals, they might have lived longer. We just found out that a neighbor’s mom who is 66 years old and a doctor-dodger was rushed to the ER and within 2 days they operated on her and removed her entire colon. It’s very sad.
