In 2005 they started paying $37milion a year in property and other taxes. In 2006 they threatened to leave due to the auto-recession, and continued bad economy were given another 4 year abatement ($130-150million) to keep the 325 jobs. Despite Subaru’s successful profits when “US” automakers were buried in red ink there are whispers that the abatement must be renegotiated to account for the recession/depression.
