Time Out for O/T – Vol. 15

PatsyT: I’m fine. But you do realize we’re all doomed!?

Volcanos spouting off all of the place. Funny what happens when an entire continental plate shifts 8 feet east.

Alaska, Japan, Phillipines, Hawaii, Russia, Marianas Islands

Choice, the map usually looks like that. Even very minor quakes are recorded. Hell they even capture bad traffic accidents.

Situation Update No. 14
On 13.03.2011 at 04:26 GMT+2

At least 15 people have been admitted to hospital with symptoms of radiation poisoning following an accident at Japan’s Fukushima nuclear power plant, the Kyodo news agency said on Sunday. A blast ripped through the Fukushima Number One nuclear reactor on Saturday, destroying the building, but leaving the nuclear reactor itself undamaged, according to official Japanese reports. A steel container covering the reactor has protected it from the blast, the authorities said. Following the explosion, however, the local authorities expanded the evacuation area around the plant from an earlier established 10-kilometer radius to a 20-kilometer radius and began handing out iodine, which helps protect the body from radioactive exposure, to residents of nearby areas. The Fukushima prefecture authorities urged the people in the area to close windows, turn off air conditioners and stay at home.

Cher, are general strikes illegal under Taft-Hartley?

» Posted By funksands On March 9, 2011 @ 5:20 pm

KT That’s always when the right wing strikes, during times of great economic or social upheaval. They know their window is small so they have to move quick.

My wife is throwing a BOLT right now. 10 texts in 2 minutes. Wow….

» Posted By funksands On March 9, 2011 @ 5:08 pm

Cher, it does have to go back to the assembly for passage because of the de-coupling, that’s the best opportunity to stop it.

» Posted By funksands On March 9, 2011 @ 4:51 pm

Cher, its done. Bill passed.

» Posted By funksands On March 9, 2011 @ 4:46 pm

WASHINGTON — In a bold gambit to put an end to the weeks-long budget standoff in Wisconsin, Gov. Scott Walker (R) split his controversial budget-repair bill in two on Wednesday, allowing the Senate to pass the most hotly contested provisions while their 14 Democratic colleagues remained out of state.

While great ribs are my pick here, nothing compares to scallops wrapped in bacon. Taps into the most primitive lizard-brain autonomic reponses.
