Time Out for O/T – Vol. 16

When is Bachmann going take off her “human-mask”, unhinge her jaw and swallow Puh-lenty whole?

Missed this one. 🙂 The Germans seem to enjoy it. LOL

At least you like Anthony Bourdain.

Adonai, I think you’ll like this song. Should bring the mood down even further. 🙂 The song might be a little too synth for your tastes, but the lyrics are great.

Jkk I personally blame you for David Caruso’s continued career.

» Posted By funksands On August 9, 2011 @ 4:36 pm

Baucus does suck. However he is another entitlement protector. He is a true-believer on the deficit though. Oh and a hopeless shill for big business.

Jim Messina was Baucus’ Chief of Staff by the way.

Astonishing. Reading the comments on her facebook page simply make me cry. I can’t read them from more than a minute or two before I have to stop.

I know some of you have seen this story, but its still a good one.

A 9-year old girl from my town was killed in a car crash a short while ago. Tragic. Something amazing has come from it:

“Rachel’s family said she did have a final wish. For her birthday in June, she told everybody she didn’t want any presents. She wanted people to donate to Charitywater.org, a group that drills wells and brings fresh water to people in developing countries.
Rachel raised $220, pretty good for a 9-year-old but $80 short of her goal.

“No problem,” she told her family. “Next year for a tenth birthday I’ll just work harder and raise more!”
She didn’t get that chance of course, but boy, is she raising more money.

Her church Pastor Ryan Meeks said Rachel seemed to naturally recognize when people needed help.
“I think that’s incredibly mature for anybody, let alone a child of nine,” Meeks said.

Rachel’s donation page was re-opened when she was in the hospital. By the time KING 5’s Elisa Hahn told her story Friday night, news Rachel’s total was up to $6,000. Monday evening it climbed past $140,000. By Thursday morning, more than $540,000 had been raised.”

As of yesterday the fund was up over $900,000. Absolutely amazing.

Boy you are right on though. I showed this to a couple of my buddies. One polite chuckle and one very confused look.

Utterly hilarious. Thanks! 🙂

» Posted By funksands On August 9, 2011 @ 3:16 pm

Adonai, I guess it depends on what “the problem” is.

I do blame the South for all of the shitty tv that is still on the air.

Senator Patty Murray selected to SuperDuperPooper Congress.

I know Sen. Murray. She is a good Senator, honest, and a staunch defender of veterans, a solid defender defense industry (some call her Senator Boeing) and entitlements. You don’t get a lot of bullshit from her either.

Which is why her selection is a bit curious.

She nearly got a fantastic bill to help homeless women veterans through the Senate, trying three times, but each time it was filibustered.

Em, many state GOP legislatures want to subject any woman considering an abortion to undergo a psychological evaluation.

In my opinion, any woman considering voting Republican should be subjected to a thorough psychological evaluation.

There is no organized group that has done more harm to the health and welfare of women in this country than the GOP

Therefore I view those that rise through the ranks of the national GOP with extreme distrust.

Collins and Snowe are holdovers from another time, safe in their political preserve of Maine.

Sally you are a lifesaver! I’ve got 20ft high ceilings here and I cleaning the crap out of the corners has always given me fits. I’ve got one of those retrievers! Bingo.

Uh okay….carry on.

Hi Sally! Your house sounds very cool and a worthwhile labor of love? Any chance we can get some pics of the finished product? 🙂
Glad to hear you are well.

Obama: I’d like a clean debt ceiling vote please.

GOP: No

Obama: Uh….okay. What do we need to do?

GOP: Spending cuts. Oh and resign while you are at it.

Obama: Well….lets talk about spending cuts and tax increases to cut the deficit.

GOP: No. Spending cuts only. And cut down the tallest tree in the forest with a herring.

Obama: Ummm…How about $4 in spending cuts with $1 in revenues? We are running short on time you know.

GOP: No. Byte us. Cuts cuts cuts cuts cuts cuts cuts. And you must sing the “I’m Very Sorry” song.

Obama: C’mon this is getting serious. We are going to have major problems if we don’t resolve this. Harry?

Reid: Okay nothing but spending cuts, but entitlements are off the table. AND you have to take my car keys and wallet.

GOP: Maybe. Make us a pot pie and go buy us some smokes while we think about it.

****Downgrade****

GOP: Obama is to blame for this.

Cher, do you remember that study you published in the Daily Planet a couple weeks ago? The one that talked about how 90% of net job creation over the last ten years was health care and government? Is that ringing a bell?

Bito, you know that doesn’t matter. Presidents own the economy they are in, whether or not they had anything to do with them.
