In the 60’s my aunt was called a “spinster” at 35 on her mortgage form. They didn’t really want to provide the mortgage but had no viable way out; had she been married they could have said she was an unreliable source of income, but as a “spinster”, she blew them out of the water. Another very sad day in this country. I would guess every woman who thought holding an aspirin between her knees would stop some horny white guy is going to remember to VOTE. I would hope every $$ to viagra would be halted. I would hope that legislation mandating any man emitting sperm be held accountable for 18 years of life for that progeny. I would hope that impregnating a woman hold some equal accountability.

While this is a war on women, it is just as easily a war on men. If women need an aspirin between their knees, let’s think about what men need as well. And no offense to the very good men here; just to those jerks who think sexual activity is a one sided privilege.

An insidious turn to take helping women to to liberal genocide of blacks. They are cleverly evil; an attempt to say whites are trying to kill us. The media should put these people in hell; they should not let anyone up off the mat when these words are spoken. fun is fun; ratings are ratings, but this crosses boundaries that no one in this country should want to touch.

Choice, what I love about that line is that I think, in many ways, the journey is richer and deeper once we realize that we know more than many-and look how little compared to some. A very good friend’s daughter died at 28. Her daughter and mine were vest friends. It scared my very foundation to think about my child dying and she experienced this. My life could never be as full as hers, albeit full in a way I hope never to experience.

It’s an odd way to look at richness, but it’s all here, good and bad. To have only good cheats those people. I’m not celebrating difficulty, but I got here just in time and fully me! 🙂

KT Agreed. some people never have their children join them in such meaningful ways. It’s a gift. I don’t know how we get where we here, the journey being difficult, but here we are.

Kalima, I think tragedies, abuses, neglects are the best kept secrets of very very many people. I worked my way out of abuse and neglect and thought I had overcome it. But as Choice points out, the holes are there but I think that’s to let in the special happinesses that come from the depth of experience.

Choice, I always pay attention to your comments. As I’ve “matured”, I’ve come to understand these two concepts quoted below very well. You’ve stated two very key points that apply to everyone–some to a greater extent, but true for everyone I think. When you’ve had a difficult childhood, it’s easy to see the hurt in those who don’t know they have issues of their own. You’ve given such a great reply.

Sue, LOL, this guy used to come around door to door selling electolux. I said, “Man, I have a dust mop, no rugs, sorry”. Now I have rugs but I HATE vacuum cleaners and as such break them frequently. I think it’s me getting even for our 5 canoes. (I lean up after our river camping as well)

You’re right Kes, many, many good things if we step away from some of the history and some of the power structure. Our Catholic Charities does an amazing job in our community. And Capital punishment. This issue presents just how importnat the church is to their people. Not a bad thing. Just some of the men are…..

Kes, I’m not at all affiliated so I can say this: I’d like to see the Bishops or any of their hierarchy act like a man. Take a fight fairly, don’t hide. Protect women like husbands traditionally have. They are responsible for nothing; neither making women pregnant (openly of course) or having children. The sham is that they do nothing but talk, for a very big price.

Sue, research is a huge money maker. If they talked about healthful lifestyles/nutrition it would make a big difference. It’s like here we are, all of sudden everyone I know is wearing a hat/scarf. How and why do we take this so without question that so many women all of a sudden have cancer? This is not early detection, this is an rapid increase in breast cancer. Damn all of them in the chem/ag and the big pharm

This afternoon’s news: Susan B Komen Foundation Reverses Position on Planned Parenthood saying they will “amend the criteria to make clear that disqualifying investigations must be criminal and conclusive in nature and not political.”

This sends a strong message to the GOP, that even under the guise of pink ribbons, this “insider” manipulation to couple with a politically motivated (and connected?) investigation.

I like that Mayor Bloomberg quickly and publicly put $250,000 on the table and that so many people contributed directly to Planned Parenthood. In some ways I wish the pain to SBK were greater. We need more prevention through healthful lifestyles.

In other news, the fantastic economic/jobs news was quickly replaced with Pannetta saying there’s a good chance that Israel will bomb Iran as early as this spring.

Hey Cher, I’d guess by all the emails and petitions I’ve received in the last two days would say they are in a LOT of trouble. Grass roots loses again to some few powerful fools who so hate Planned Parenthood, that the consequences don’t matter.

Perhaps direct donations to Planned Parenthood isn’t a bad thing. Tricky to talk about but cancer research has it’s own issues.Seems anything that gets too big, worries about staying big than in providing the right and the best services. It’s dismaying on a lot of levels the hell that women have gone through on this one issue.
