I think this points out not only our naivety regarding our persistent racism but also our complete unawareness of the impact of the NRA and angry/fearful armed white men on our communities. This includes the vast increase in these groups, the municipal control they’ve acquired, the legislation they’ve passed in 23 states that allows murder to go unquestioned and unpunished. I don’t think I knew just how much control these angry/frightened/armed men have taken of our streets and neighborhoods. I could predict the consequences of concealed, right to carry but was not aware of the “stand your ground”, etc. and how many states have legalized vigilante law.
