It’s hilarious on Corner Gas, because whenever anyone says the name of the other town, EVERYONE spits without even thinking about it, and keeps talking like it’s normal.

Posted two comments at Huffy {[spit}} yesterday. One stated that the banks’ part in the meltdown was not as big a danger to the country as Thomas’ betrayal of the country in the Citizens United case.

The other stated that Obama had been destroying the country since the 1950s.

Guess which one was deleted.

Funny, isn’t it? Those who survive somewhat whole walk away with an exaggerated sense of responsibility.

A shrink told me once that I must think I was some sort of god, to take on the blame for the world’s ills. I still do, but now I feel guilty for being so arrogant. 😉

I’m from an abusive family. The worse my parents were, the more strongly we siblings united for support. It was as wonderful for us as the abuse was awful.

When I left home during my senior year of hs, I felt incredible guilt at leaving my siblings to go it alone. Same dynamic at huffy{{spit}}, I think.

It’s not hatred. It’s fear and shame. To put something out there like that makes it REAL. There are only two possible responses, to see it as a brave confession or to be terrified of the reality.

Think about it. The same responses happen with any story of rape, abuse, death, racism, etc. The determining factor in reponses seems to be MATURITY, not party affiliation. And we have our fair share of idiots in our party.
