AND it takes congress to confirm appointments. So far, the rabid right has successfully blocked the bulk of Obama’s appointments, and keeping Warren out will be at the head of their list. They don’t want the agency at all, and they definitely don’t want Warren heading it. She’s makes so much compelling sense people who listen to her are/will be convinced she’s right on target and will support needed reforms. And she’s not tainted with the political baggage that comes with most politicians. I first saw her as a featured interview on Bill Moyers when his program was still on. Jon Stewart has since had her on several times; and as I’m struck by her obvious competence and fitness for the job, it has long been my hope that she would head the new Consumer Finance Protection Agency. The following video which took place during the May 24th hearing gives me assurance that she can handle attacks from the right. (when chairman Patrick McHenry (NC-10) ended the hearing by calling Elizabeth Warren a liar.)
