Displaying 0 To 0 Of 0 Comments I’d pay to see that smackdown, Charlie ‘The Wacko’ Sheen vs. Muammar ‘Legend In His Own Mind’ Gaddafi. Could be a great non-profit fund raiser….just sayin’. » Posted By coffeegod On March 2, 2011 @ 6:21 am Did the Egyptians swear oaths on onions? » Posted By coffeegod On February 18, 2011 @ 6:31 am I love that movie, right down to the zipper in the back of Taylor’s orange gown! » Posted By coffeegod On March 23, 2011 @ 7:04 am She lived one hell of a life. » Posted By coffeegod On March 23, 2011 @ 7:03 am Happy birthday, PW. Eat lots of cake. » Posted By coffeegod On March 18, 2011 @ 7:25 am Talk about the lesser of two evils. » Posted By coffeegod On March 18, 2011 @ 7:24 am Then again, even if you put lipstick on a pig, you still have just a pig. » Posted By coffeegod On March 16, 2011 @ 12:12 pm Waitaminute…my family already did this shtick. Indentured servitude sucked in the 17th century and I’m reasonably certain that status has not changed. Things aren’t boding well for my kid’s generation. » Posted By coffeegod On March 16, 2011 @ 12:03 pm * hands 2CCP a very large band-aid * » Posted By coffeegod On March 15, 2011 @ 1:20 pm Or your head might explode. » Posted By coffeegod On March 15, 2011 @ 12:01 pm My pleasure, sir. Wikipedia has several great pages with multiple links for further information mining. I tried to grok the US 2012 budget for an article. My head exploded. You’ll fare better with nukes than I did with the budget. » Posted By coffeegod On March 15, 2011 @ 10:14 am My pleasure, ma’am. The human race would be wise to remember that all action has reaction. Cher, outside of Jimmy Carter, I would venture to say most of us are woefully ignorant. The US Navy has had a nuke program since 1955. This is a wikipage with the military nuclear accidents through the ages. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_military_nuclear_accidents » Posted By coffeegod On March 15, 2011 @ 10:00 am I worked at Browns Ferry during the retro fit on reactor 3. I was a card carrying member of Greenpeace and VERY conflicted about working there but jobs were almost non-existent so I took it. This was in the days before widespread internet therefore extensive research on radiation and nukes was daunting at best. Chernobyl’s incident, until Japan’s current issue, was the worse case benchmark, the 10 on the WCS scale. Three Mile Island’s incident is about a .2. Radiation from a train car full of coal is greater than that leaked at TMI. Carbon-14, used to date ancient artifacts, is the radioactive component of coal. Nukes work until they don’t. When they don’t, is it catastrophic. Coal fired electrical plants produce coal ash which is loaded with Carbon-14. I have a healthy respect for nuclear power. Frankly, it scares the crap out of me. Hydrocarbons and coal ash also scare me. As with so much, there is no easy answer. Dunno if these will assist you but here are a few links: » Posted By coffeegod On March 15, 2011 @ 9:37 am Murphy Brown FTW! Designing Women made me proud to be Southern. One of my favorite jokes is from DW. The rest…Newhart didn’t suck. » Posted By coffeegod On March 7, 2011 @ 10:09 am ROFL! I worked for Whole Foods Market waaay back when. One afternoon, we ran a boxer/brief poll of team members. Commando won by a VERY large margin. » Posted By coffeegod On March 4, 2011 @ 6:28 am I fought for 18 months with my insurance company to get gastric by-pass surgery. I was denied because it wasn’t deemed ‘necessary’. I weighed almost 500lbs at that time. I’m asthmatic and my knees suck (same genetic defect that took Joe Namath out of football). Those two comorbidities alone should have guaranteed my approval but nooooooo… Mind you, I was paying a hefty COBRA payment for the privilege of being denied. AND! Generic drugs may be ‘just as good’ for the most part but when they aren’t, they really suck. Have you looked at getting her name brand meds via http://www.bigmountaindrugs.com/ ? I’ve used them several times. Excellent service and they aren’t terrible for shipping costs. » Posted By coffeegod On March 3, 2011 @ 12:59 pm Spaghetti Red or white? » Posted By coffeegod On March 3, 2011 @ 12:51 pm Leave space for me, please? I wrote this in 2006: http://www.nordinho.net/vbull/blogs/coffeegod/1658-apology-my-government.html » Posted By coffeegod On March 3, 2011 @ 9:35 am Fair sure his attorney argued that he didn’t ‘force’ the women to perform the acts. I work for attorneys but sometimes I really loathe the profession. As for the women/mothers involved? Instances such as this make me wish I believed in Dante’s hell…that 4th ring is looking pretty darned good right about now. I don’t care how stinkin’ pathetic a person is, you just don’t do that to a child, regardless. Stoopid should be painful. » Posted By coffeegod On March 1, 2011 @ 10:25 am Good to see you, viper. 🙂 » Posted By coffeegod On February 18, 2011 @ 11:28 am I find that buying gummi bears, naming them then biting their heads off keeps me from climbing to the top of a tall building with an assault rifle and a duffle bag of ammo. Frankly, I spend quite a bit of time a Xanax and an AK-47 away from postal. » Posted By coffeegod On February 17, 2011 @ 1:51 pm cosign! » Posted By coffeegod On February 17, 2011 @ 1:42 pm I have vowed to keep silent on this country’s budget matters until I completely understand how much is actually being spent on what. At my current rate of comprehension, I’ll figure it out 57 years after I’m dead. Boner should stick to what he knows: crying, tanning and quaffing vast quantities of grain alcohol. » Posted By coffeegod On February 17, 2011 @ 1:40 pm I have entire years like that. I thought it was menopause. Let’s go get a drink or 5. » Posted By coffeegod On February 17, 2011 @ 1:37 pm Thank you, Masked Man! » Posted By coffeegod On February 16, 2011 @ 6:58 pm I heard about this bullshit home invasion on NPR yesterday. Had the attackees been white, it would have been the banner lead on Faux. Hispanic? “Well, we might be able to get it on afte…SQUIRREL!!!” There are times when I hate being white. I can’t blame non-caucasians for believing that ‘we’ all think/feel the same way. Still in all, I try to lead by action and when that fails, I get mouthy and really really loud. As an off-shoot of this, SAVE NPR! They vote today on ganking the funding. Write/phone your senator/congress rep. » Posted By coffeegod On February 16, 2011 @ 8:45 am I adore the mindset of long-term, multi-generation residents. Cajuns are about as direct as Newfoundlanders. I love them! » Posted By coffeegod On February 16, 2011 @ 8:19 amComments Posted By coffeegod
