Killgore, this is just spooky. I was just outside pacing (work avoidance) and this song came into my head. I come back to the ‘puter (more work avoidance) and you have this up. Amazing.

Excellent! Coincidentally, in an attempt to avoid all things distracting on-line today, I instead sat down here, took off all the keys and detailed my keyboard. Plugged it back in and haven’t done a lick of work all day. We’re all a bunch of enablers. 🙄

Unfortunately, I don’t write books. I’d have the cleanest house in Texas. Deadlines work for me. Nothing inspires like a ticking clock or a “where are you” call from a client.

escribacat, too true. If I pace and stare off into space, my housemates get that I’m writing. When I’m laughing and cruising the interwebs, it’s a dead giveaway that I am not.

Practicing some of my very best work avoidance techniques, I went looking for writing inspiration. Pacing, hair-pulling and banging my head on the keyboard are just not getting the job done . I came across these long-time favorites and thought some of you writer folk might appreciate them:

boomer–my world stops at 5pm Saturday evening for Prairie Home Companion. On my patio, with a glass of wine and no talking. If something messes that up, it comes on again Sunday at noon. It’s church.
