You be the judge. Is she selling another book or attempting to cover her ass?

Hi Truth! Thank you for your insightful comments, and I’m flattered you took the time.

Although I’m part of The Planet’s collective welcoming committee, I’m not one of the Admins.. That said, the Admin. Team welcomes all comments, suggestions, and questions. To ensure your post to me doesn’t get buried and is seen by them, C&P the whole thing (including my portion) and post it at the Help Desk (scroll up and you’ll see the link on the right).

I bailed from HP December 2009 because I didn’t like what was going on even then. It was difficult and, like most here, I did go through withdrawal. However, this environment quickly lowered my blood pressure and improved my mental health. I only need one anti-depressant these days. πŸ˜†

BDM, don’t forget we didn’t hear a peep from any of them during the 8 years the Shrubster drove this country to hell-in a-hand-basket. πŸ™„

Newbies, AdLib, and Old Timers (real age not being the factor here of course )…

Not sure I can keep up with the anticipated pace of this evening, so will wish all of our new members the best, have a fucking blast, and y’all have stepped into Paradise. Can’t get anymore real than The Planet, Friday Night Music, or VOX Populi; the real-time interaction at its best.

I love each and every one of my Planet family dearly. That said, you won’t regret you landed here.

Once again, welcome, and I look forward to seeing you often.

ll, migraines are not only evil but wicked. I’ve been there and feel your “no sound, totally dark, I don’t want to puke, leave me the hell alone” thought process.

Tomorrow is another day and we don’t keep score. πŸ˜‰

Hey All, Happy Friday!

I cheated and took the day off. That said, Harry Shearer posted a comment on Facebook for The Other 98%. Something about GWB. However, I embraced the opportunity to comment. This is what I wrote:

Love it Harry.

Now, would you please address Arianna Huffington’s selling out at the expense of those who contributed to her success.? Authors, commenters, subscribers, folks who sincerely believed she had their best interest at heart. Yet, several months ago, she “happened” to run into Newt (of all people) in Amalfi and most recently, cuddling warm and fuzzy in Las Vegas with the Issa guy. You know, the one who wants to “investigate” every freakin’ thing President Obama has done over the last two years? Progressives she deceived? Absolutely! And, someone should be tripping her while she attempts to laugh all the way to the bank.

I’ve been here for 18 months. Seems to me we should be supporting those who stuck with Elphiba, only to be screwed.

G’night everyone. See you on the other side. Yea, TGIF and what a Friday it will be. Friday Night Music and VOX! I’m exhausted just thinking about it. πŸ™‚

I hear you chase. It’s very cathartic, at least for me anyway.

Garrison Keillor, Prairie Home Companion

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 9:03 pm

Okay, I have a confession to make. I love, love, love Garrison Keillor and you mentioning the MN State Fair reminded me of all the wonderful Prairie Home broadcasts I’ve listened to over the years. I could listen to him tell stories ’til Lake Wobegon freezes over. πŸ™‚

***EDIT*** I’ve also seen PCH live in Cincinnati — very weird watching a radio show — and also An Evening with Garrison Keillor (now that was awesome).

Oh, I still live dangerously from time to time. You wouldn’t believe all the yucky tests I had to go through for the two years prior. Bob Evans’ biscuits & sausage gravy (gooey fatty stuff on purpose)an hour before an x-ray that took an hour.

I was a new person after wards.

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 8:15 pm

They kept me overnight only because I was in the ER first and a late, next day add on for my surgeon. That said, I was home for lunch the next day…and it wasn’t broth and Jello either. πŸ˜‰

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 7:41 pm

Oh dear, please don’t fret or feel the least bit intimidated; of course it’s easy for me to say. Heh!

I felt the same way, seriously I did. My very first post, if one could call it that, was right after President Obama moved into the White House two years ago. Was it equivalent to Hemingway, Steinbeck, Dickens, or whomever? Definitely not, but it felt good to take the plunge and be buoyed by the unconditional support of my friends here at The Planet.

It’s more about what you are thinking and how you are feeling; it has little to do with what the rest of us think. If we all thought alike, it would be a very boring Planet. Just because we have differing opinions doesn’t eliminate the opinions of those with whom we disagree.

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 7:25 pm

Yes, I have and lived to tell about it. Fantastic surgeon and felt so much better after. My best friend couldn’t believe the difference and I never knew how bad I felt until it was gone.

BDM (and Kalima), isn’t it weird how they (those with 4 paws)can stare at us and wake us from a deep sleep? Is it mental telepathy or what?

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 6:38 pm

Yep, we’re about as real as it gets — warts and all.

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 6:19 pm

Me too or, since I’m off tomorrow, a nap in the afternoon and a pot of coffee around 9 pm EST should work for me. Of course I’ll want to sleep all day Saturday. Can’t win for losing.

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 6:10 pm

BDM,

Big dog and fuzzy slippers aside, I have small cats and fuzzy slippers, you, me, ‘kes, Q, and Moist Robot are all on EST.

There is a 3 hour difference between US and THEM — we’re ready for ZZZ’s and they’re so not.

7 pm PST = 10 pm EST; won’t even try to ‘splain where that leaves Kalima and WhatsThatSound. πŸ˜†

***EDIT*** Kalima, you know I close my eyes, count on my fingers, and click the heels of my ruby red slippers just to get to work on time.

What’s for breakfast or are you ready for lunch now? πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 6:06 pm

10 PM EST? Really?

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 5:59 pm

Interesting for sure and since I’m easily confused, it will definitely be a challenge to keep up.

AB—

Seriously dear, I often wonder how I survived the family gene pool (by DNA or by marriage). I always thought I was the weird one, yet I was the only one in the entire family who went to therapy. Gawd, I paid to discover I was sane and they weren’t. Boomer (aka BlackSheep) 1949. Who knew?

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 5:54 pm

BDM,

How’s the snow situation?

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 5:31 pm

Tazzie,

I hear you. Somehow typing “Give Me a Fucking Break” makes it the real deal. πŸ˜‰

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 5:30 pm

Plutocrats,

I’m not so sure. I’ve been able to post a number of links there over the last couple of days. The “Post-Nazis” are asleep at the wheel or they’re running interference at HP.

So, she made her bed (or beds as it were) and must wallow in the dirty linens.

***EDIT*** Try it, you’ll like it. It’s quite liberating!

» Posted By boomer1949 On February 10, 2011 @ 5:27 pm

See my post above yours. Sorry, I got wordy — I’m off tomorrow and starting Friday Night Music/Vox a tad early. πŸ˜‰

PW,

AB is just one of the many Humanitarians here at The Planet. You’ll be surprised to learn more about this group; we actually put others before ourselves.

And, I’m proud to be a member of The Planet.

And, no, I’m not being critical of you. Just sayin’ we ain’t HP. πŸ™‚
