Severe pain, upper right quadrant. SOS my gall bladder! Never mind what happened to me…I refused to be released and wouldn’t let them send me to a curb in the parking lot. Thank goodness, because the surgeon said I would’ve been dead within 24 hours had I not stood my ground. Gawd I embarrassed the ex-husband to death,but I saved my life! Go figure and thanks to the pain meds. Of course Nurse kes can attest to the “Wonder Woman” effects of Dilaudid; sad it’s only available in an OR setting, it truly is a wonder drug. After two C-Sections, a miscarriage, an Appendectomy, some minor laser surgey, and the Gall Bladder, the big D for the Gall Bladder was by far the best ever pain medicine I’d ever received. Vicodin, Percoset, and I are in total disagreement all of the time. Can’t get it anywhere but in the OR or for pain following surgery. What was significant. to me at least, were the number of patients in the waiting room who were not emergencies. Most became annoyed, stating they’d return another day when it wasn’t so busy. It was obvious these folks used the ER as PCPs. Me?
