Thanks Murph. When the site goes down, we (Admin) are are automatically notified via a computer generated email. Believe me, this is quite aggravating to us.

Murph, have you read the FAQ on how to post? https://planetpov.com/faq/how-to-guide-for-authors/ I highly suggest it. In 2009 I went to it and printed it out for my first post as a guideline and found it quite helpful. I also did a few practice posts, looked at how they looked and then trashed them before ever actually having them published. Practice makes perfect. Agreed there are tricks in using any format whether it’s WordPress, TypePad or any of the many different blog formats. I also found it very useful to look at the many tutorials on WordPress that they have, you can find them by doing a search for WordPress. Every post ever published by our members is not perfect on the first try. We ask every one to do the best that they can and follow the FAQ’s, it saves us time in the editing process. We would rather blog than edit.
Remember that the site is member generated not Admin generated. Take your time and your patience may be rewarded.

Exactly, Kalima. Murph just give a descripiton of your post in the “excerpt” box and that will be what the search engines pick up. If you leave it blank, the first 50 words of the post will be used. “Excerpts” are used as a “tease” , hoping others will click to read the post.

Murph, we do not have that function where we show phrases. More bits, more bytes, more money to our server.
Re your gravatar: It sometimes takes time for it to show. I have seen mine disappear when I changed it.

MW, the Twitter widget also goes blank on me sometimes. If you click “join the conversation” it will open a new window showing all the tweets.

e’cat, in a post, one highlights the quote and then clicks the quote mark in the top row. the regular way of using blockquotes like in a comment doesn’t work. I think I fixed all of them, but you can take a look.

Truth, WordPress has an add-on for word-clouds. In the last redesign, it was decided not not have one. Thanks, it’s an interesting site that you gave.

Truth, hold on a sec, I just got back from an appointment. You can edit it using the same name and IP as you used when you put it up. After you do the editing, make sure you click update. Give me some time to get back with you.
The in text hyper links are placed in there for two purposes, one so people can get more information if the choose and two the search engines pick them up so the article can be more widely read by others, same reason tags, related articles and excerpts are added in editing.
The hyper links can be removed by unclicking them in the box directly below the body of the text in your dashboard.
