J’avaz, I grew up in an industrial Midwest town during the ’50’s also. It was used all to often. Using the word in your writing is a close call. My suggestion is if it is used is a quote and thy said it, use it , why hide the offense. It’s honest.IMO

Oh, I’ll take a scan any day over a cholla.
Hell i get a full body scan every 3 months now. Cholla and the memories left from them last a long time. πŸ™‚

jan, You may be right but I don’t want to test your theory. πŸ™‚

They are speculating down here on which state park is going to be closed and when. Not if, but when. And they make money!
(don’t be exposing any bare skin around that cholla!) πŸ˜†

Sue, My parents would have gotten a good chuckle over that one. They never did any banking with a major bank. They did their banking down the street where they owned stock (20 shares~)They belonged to the credit union all their lives.Homes, cars, rv’s,savings, vacations—all credit union! They were born in the 20’s! Now she comes along and “discovers” this! LMAO

This may be a rhetorical question but “Where are their brains?” The state can’t pay for schools, roads, parks,cops…..They have raided every fund set aside, they have taken back funds from evey city and county. Now they want to cut taxes and that is going to fix the whole in the budget? Hello! When your in a hole, quit digging!
What are they going to do raise the sales tax to 15% or tax food and meds?
Burden the working class with higher property taxes, Yeah that’s the ticket. Burden the cities and counties!
These repugs in this state make me sick!

I gota go and throw up! Damn!

Tall Structures? You want tall structures?
“Yesterday, Dubai celebrated the opening of the world’s tallest skyscraper -2,717 feet – more than half a mile high. But Dubai’s glory is North Dakota’s downfall. The KVLY television tower has for years held the title of the world’s tallest structure, 2063 feet, rising out of the plains of Eastern North Dakota. Doug Jenson is chief engineer of the NBC affiliate that operates the tower”

J’vaz & k’es, Ruby family doesn’t ring a bell. If they lived in Keewanaw county I probably would have heard of them. I didn’t go down south much. Spent a year and didn’t cross the bridge to Houghton. Winters? 9 months of winter and three months of bad skiing.lol. Black fly and mud season are not much fun. It takes a year to get used to the black flies (before the bites don’t irritate.)
If I had good health, I would be there. Making wood and X-country skiing, snow-shoeing everyday.

» Posted By bito On January 2, 2010 @ 2:19 pm

J’avaz yes, the “other”and best part of MI. I lived north of Houghton, it was across the bridge down in the “banana belt.” Many good memories living there.

Em, It didn’t work but the look one their face was worth a wrapped Christmas present with a big red bow.LOL

» Posted By bito On January 2, 2010 @ 1:18 pm

Em, Now YOU are on TOP of my short list. You just jumped the Iraq WMD invasion and “corporate presonhood.” πŸ˜†

» Posted By bito On January 2, 2010 @ 1:07 pm

February is fine, Em, If any body has the chutzpa to say anything just look at them and tell them you are Eastern Orthodox. (I’ve used that one, trying to buy beer in a small southern heavy-duty Baptist town with their blue laws)

» Posted By bito On January 2, 2010 @ 12:55 pm

Never can spell that right, Khirad. Maybe stick with what many rethugs call call us anyway “commie pinkos.” LOL

» Posted By bito On January 2, 2010 @ 12:43 pm

In my “the great move chapter” I ended up without any Christmas decorations. Can’t say I miss the whole decorating thing–inside and outside. Foot high living tree and some candles and I’m happy!
Wouldn’t Molly be having fun these last 2 years? Funny, she was never invited to be on MTP. She would eat David Gregory and Newtie for lunch.

» Posted By bito On January 2, 2010 @ 12:38 pm

Speaking of Molly Ivans. (huh?) There is new book out on her. The author told a story on how she showed up for a job interview with a six pack.~~ Gotta love it!

boomer, I have to use a wheeled walker to walk much distance. I can’t tell you how many times I have almost been hit, yelled at or given the the finger.
What? They think I like being a crip? I use this walker for fun? My limp is fake? What, where does this attitude come from?

» Posted By bito On January 2, 2010 @ 11:19 am

Em, I don’t know if i should tell you this. πŸ™‚
I used to do close to this in the UP every week during winter. When “taking sauna” we would run from the steam room and jump in a snow drift an roll around. Durng summer we would jump into a spring fed lake with a temp not much over 35 degrees.

Khirad, It PO’s me that oxycontin got so abused and a bad name. The stuff works! I never had any problems with it. The first day I got slightly light headed and after months of using it, I had no problem stopping (except I was back in pain.) Now they act like your trying to buy a bag of heroin!
Shame. It was a few months I had minimal pain.

» Posted By bito On January 2, 2010 @ 10:59 am

nellie, I am concerned about you. You really shouldn’t agree with me too much. πŸ˜‰

» Posted By bito On January 2, 2010 @ 10:04 am
