Displaying 31 To 60 Of 66 Comments Thanks for the warm welcome AdLib. Now another thing: I started disliking Fluff intensely after I read up about Ariana on gawker.com. I assume you know all the articles that are published there? And did someone here summarize these into a new article? I haven’t checked out everything here yet, since the archives are already vast. In any case, this is information that has to get out on a big scale at one point, not necessarily now. » Posted By TruthWins On February 10, 2011 @ 1:36 am To expand the comment box click the two arrows just besides the spell check on top of the box. You don’t even lose the text when you click on it even after you’ve already written, which is great. About facebook: it is not my cup of tea, but it’s not a problem. I think I got so angry at it and twitter because Huff was declining at a fast pace right when they were added. But in reality the crumbling of Fluff ultimately must have started when the new CEO, of whom Ariana was so proud in her last article, took up his job. BTW, I find it funny that there is not a word about the merger anymore on Fluff. I guess she is in shock that people actually left and nobody is really in need of the bad stepmother of the fairytale… » Posted By TruthWins On February 10, 2011 @ 1:26 am I read here that some folks have been banned on Huff just for advertising planet.pov. I’m trying to go below the radar in order to stick around there as long as I can, just to bring even more good folks over here (and trying to avoid trolls). But just in case I do get deleted earlier than anticipated I made snapshots of my entire list of friends, also in order to reach them individually with another moniker if need arises. Ariana sucked the life out of us for her own personal goals and for profit, now we suck the life out of Huffington Post. For that rag is NOTHING without the active commenter’s community. And after all, this is the only credit that goes to her: having created a format in which we could meet, (that is before she tried to destroy that with fakebook et al.) And here’s a hint for other newbies: I just found out I can expand the comment box and actually read what I wrote… » Posted By TruthWins On February 10, 2011 @ 12:50 am Thanks, I feel welcome even by just reading here! » Posted By TruthWins On February 9, 2011 @ 11:12 am Actually this is THE site I was looking for – thanks to AOL and Chernynkaya I finally came to know it. Here is the heart of what HuffPost should have been and never was except for the commenters. Therefore this site has a big future and a very important role to play for America. More later since I have to go now. » Posted By TruthWins On February 9, 2011 @ 11:07 am Hi Chernynkaya, thank you so much for informing me about this site! I try to return that favor to others, since I’m sure there are many others out there who long for a site like this. » Posted By TruthWins On February 9, 2011 @ 11:01 am Indeed, reveal5, hi, by the way, yet now it merely became more obvious how trivial that rag actually is. I liked the site only because of the comment’s section, and was always hoping to find an honest site like planet. Commenters were indeed the heart of the Huff. I tried to post this on Ariana’s article, but go figure, not even one of my tame comments made it. Still I don’t delete my account there since I plan to inform as many folks as I can about here, probably until I get banned for doing so. And since I was busy doing that I was merely reading on here so far….but nevertheless enjoying the freedom and the sincere atmosphere. » Posted By TruthWins On February 9, 2011 @ 10:57 am Thank you for expressing and explaining why I never liked Maher. » Posted By TruthWins On February 8, 2011 @ 6:10 pm Buddy, these are excellent. I wished you wouldn’t waste your great talent on undeserving people though: you manage to give even them something amicable (except for Palin who looks as scary and weird as she really is). This puts them in a better light than they have deserved on their own merit. Therefore I wished you would fully concentrate on deserving people and promote them (- your drawings would make great ads too!) I’m in awe, Buddy! » Posted By TruthWins On February 13, 2011 @ 1:52 am This is how she is sans the “charming” smile/mask. » Posted By TruthWins On February 13, 2011 @ 1:43 am Thanks, escribacat » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 8:42 pm Thank you, boomer, it’s okay for now: bito created the recovery space for us new ex-huffers and I’m also thinking about writing a post about AH in the near future in order to inform more people what kind of a person she really is. Thanks for your reply and for the advice how to contact the administrators. » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 8:16 pm Thanks eileen. Since my comments never ever posted on the threads of AH’s articles I knew early on that she didn’t wish to be confronted with real opinions. I really just wanted to ask her questions and when I realized it went through only after watering it down to a 5%-version of what I wanted to say, I gave up on that. It is possible that she received money to do what she did, but then I’m not sure if that’s her entire agenda. Having read up on her on gawker my curiosity is piked. I agree with you she is worse than the Koch brothers and C streeters, for she operates entirely in hiding. That is, she used to. Let’s see what we can do – I sure won’t let it go by just like that. » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 8:08 pm Thanks for the laugh! Great! » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 7:57 pm I don’t mind that…..Maybe he starts to hit the aol trolls now instead. (Sure enough I wanted to write tr0lls…..) » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 11:32 am I’m absolutely expecting that to happen, Kalima. And I’m sure Arianna knows, but she doesn’t care since she sold the dead horse already and has her money safely in her bank (I wonder in which one? I don’t expect her to follow her own advice and put it into small banks.) » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 11:29 am Thanks KB. I feel exactly the same here. I understand some stay there just because that comment thingy is better organized over there. That’s true – it took years for HP to get there! But if missing out on that is the prize to be myself and express myself freely and enjoy other people being themselves too I am more than willing to pay it. So glad that the Planet is there! » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 11:23 am I’m also new here and I think you positively have to rock the boat. » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 10:39 am How the heck did Angle’s sister get elected? » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 9:28 am Dear zoot, you don’t only feel a bit used, you were completely abused (see my lengthy post above). I don’t understand her agenda yet, but I think truth will come out over time, as it always does. So happy that PlanetPOV is here! » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 8:57 am Enigma2 has an account here, why is she not simply coming over? » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 8:53 am boomer1949: ………Harry Shearer posted a comment on Facebook for The Other 98%. Something about GWB. However, I embraced the opportunity to comment. This is what I wrote: Love it Harry. Hi boomer, that’s an excellent letter/comment, unfortunately so true and sadly hidden somewhere on this site where it can hardly be found. Let me be clear: I’m more than happy to having been directed to The Planet and I don’t miss Huff at all. Actually I detested it from the time I read up on this witch on gawker and remained there only because of the commenters who always where the heart, soul and brain of the Post. Yet since I do think many of us ex-Huffers are kind of traumatized (knowing that she’s very friendly with a more than shady leader of an utterly questionable sect it is very understandable that we feel somewhat brainwashed), I would like to suggest to create an Arianna/recovery/dustbin (or whatever) space here, at least temporarily. This would help us to sort out what we’ve experienced and we could also collect all the information about her in one place. For what Arianna did is not a small thing. She deceived the left at large and she should NOT get away with it just like Sarah Palin, her all time favorite and secret idol, did. Let’s face it: the one and only good thing that Arianna did, was to give room and means to build the commenter’s community, which is a real force to reckon with. Sadly she did try to destroy it later on (probably when she felt it was getting out of her control). Yet as luck would have it, thanks to creative, intelligent and energetic people, “The Planet” was created, and this could become the new collective platform for at least a large part of the left. I honestly do think this should happen, and it should build up at a pace that allows the quality and atmosphere of this site to remain at the high standard that it is now. » Posted By TruthWins On February 12, 2011 @ 8:47 am Hi boomer, that’s an excellent letter/comment, unfortunately so true and sadly hidden somewhere on this site where it can hardly be found. PS: I just went over to the dark side, and really, let’s lend our friends a hand! That’s what they endure over there: First is Mu-barrack . Next is You, Barrack. And I’m out of Smileys. Can someone please give me the link again??? » Posted By TruthWins On February 11, 2011 @ 11:14 am They were scrubbing ideologically too. So if you made it to their category “dissenter” for some unknown reason they may have scrubbed anything. More likely though is a new Arianna memo which reads something like: HIGH PRIORITY ALERT: “Please make sure not to allow any comments about deleting HuffPost user accounts. It is off-topic on any article.” » Posted By TruthWins On February 10, 2011 @ 11:55 am LOL! Isn’t she as idiotic as Palin? That must be the reason why she had so many pieces about that self-serving money grifter. » Posted By TruthWins On February 10, 2011 @ 11:50 am She simply didn’t want to switch of her blackberry during take off and was taken to the police station after the flight. I had read this at another place at the time (2 months back or so), and wondered why it never appeared on Corpsington Post. Now I know. » Posted By TruthWins On February 10, 2011 @ 11:48 am PW, it is so nice when people can talk freely and explain things unhurriedly. We were so pushed in our respective corners at HP and so restricted in our expression, I can’t believe how much time I’ve wasted there! » Posted By TruthWins On February 10, 2011 @ 11:31 am That must be a new instruction to the m0ds: don’t let people tell that they leave and why! I assume you must have been on a special “dissenter’s list” or something. At times I couldn’t post a thing over there! But right now I still must have escaped their attention OR they allow a certain amount of discontent in order to make it look somehow “fair and balanced”. I guess her shock about the mass exodus sits deeply and I enjoy every bit of it. » Posted By TruthWins On February 10, 2011 @ 11:29 am She even admits to that! Our experience told us that it IS like that but I for one always hoped I’m wrong with that assumption. » Posted By TruthWins On February 10, 2011 @ 11:24 amComments Posted By TruthWins
I know I could just create a new account at Fluff, but then it is hard to remember all of my friends, especially as most of the ones I remember best are already here. Moreover if they get the message by someone they know, it may be more effective. Therefore I try to play it well and keep my account as long as I can.
Now, would you please address Arianna Huffington’s selling out at the expense of those who contributed to her success.? Authors, commenters, subscribers, folks who sincerely believed she had their best interest at heart. Yet, several months ago, she “happened” to run into Newt (of all people) in Amalfi and most recently, cuddling warm and fuzzy in Las Vegas with the Issa guy. You know, the one who wants to “investigate” every freakin’ thing President Obama has done over the last two years? Progressives she deceived? Absolutely! And, someone should be tripping her while she attempts to laugh all the way to the bank.
It is so obvious that she did us, authors, commenters and subscribers very wrong and I really would like to help her tripping, even if I can’t hinder her cashing in right now. But I sincerely do want to tarnish her reputation. Most of her little secrets are well hidden on gawker.com! (For those who don’t know them, enter “Arianna Huffington” in the gawker search box).
I do think we all should see to it that her hypocrisy and abuse will become very widely known. She should not get away with a dirty grin and be even applauded and venerated as a savvy businesswoman!
I have also a lot of thoughts of how she profited financially mightily from the 2008 election – and how she, as soon as Obama actually was in the WH started to relentlessly bashing Obama. Moreover she riled us up against each other and against the right on a daily basis, while ALWAYS giving more coverage to the right (aka: tea baggers). Added to this comes the increasingly serious suppression of our factual, valuable and often link supported opinions, while at the same time letting rightwing comments take over more and more. What the hell was going on there??? Is it only about money or was her agenda also to split the left thoroughly? This is some serious food for thought in my opinion.
And one more thought: the problem of the left is always (no matter if it’s the US or Europe) that it’s splintered into thousands of groups and subgroups. This is what makes us weak. The left does need a common platform, at least to coordinate and take action together.

So we need once more to become a bit creative in order to use our right for free speech in Arianna Mubarak land:
– One idea is to use a fake account to speak more freely. Another way is to put underscores and stuff in between (as in planet_pov) or there is the possibility to simply jumble the words (cometoplanetpovandseemanyfriendsthere).
– Also very tricky is directing the people who ask what happened to the many commenters that have left to one’s own comments site to check it out. (that is, if not all the hints have been erased.)
– Or, I generally mention several sites like alternet.com, current.tv and planet.pov. Good luck! 😉
I even could comment on the Arianna article where she openly says there will be no “leftist twist” and there was not even moderation!
