What’s FAIR?

FAIR, the national media watch group, has been offering well-documented criticism of media bias and censorship since 1986. We work to invigorate the First Amendment by advocating for greater diversity in the press and by scrutinizing media practices that marginalize public interest, minority and dissenting viewpoints. As an anti-censorship organization, we expose neglected news stories and defend working journalists when they are muzzled. As a progressive group, FAIR believes that structural reform is ultimately needed to break up the dominant media conglomerates, establish independent public broadcasting and promote strong non-profit sources of information.
Uniquely, FAIR works with both activists and journalists. We maintain a regular dialogue with reporters at news outlets across the country, providing constructive critiques when called for and applauding exceptional, hard-hitting journalism. AdLib, and “senior” planeteers, I just discovered in the Take Action/Polls, Graphs, Research section some more of the excellent work you have already done here. Very important point. Funny thing is that AH, like Palin, is allowed to spew any amount of crap without being called out on it.

I would say she’s already a fine middle class “champion” with 6000 slaves, politely called citizen journalists. And now after she was crusading the entire States with her 3rd world gobble, I would expect she’s asked which bank or banks hosts the millions she raked in. I could bet it’s the tiny branch of Bank of America though….

Hi AdLib, still pestering you with the same issue, since it’s not working yet. I took the html code <a href=”http:// …. as you said, but it's not working. At one point it used to work though. Not sure if you made changes (see bito's explanation below) which mean that there are no more external Smileys? But then, some could post them, although they were too big (oh, but I just realized Khirad did not use the html code, but made an image!)

Earlier I noticed when opening the comment again to edit, that the code had got jumbled after sending, but without displaying the picture.

I think Haruko has the same problem, so I don’t think it’s because of my computer. 🙁

PS: I did post the html code as usual and then once just to try the URL code, see comment further down. Html didn’t work at all and Url in a way that some text was shown along with the picture. Anyhow I hope the problem could be solved.

bito, Cher: thanks for your support. Yet it seems I can not edit after the post is published. Before that I can edit, save again and preview as much as I want. However after publishing, when I open dashboard/posts, the small box in front of the title is not there anymore. It is still there for the unpublished drafts. When I hover with the cursor over the title only “View” appears. With the drafts there is also “Edit” amongst other options.
Moreover I don’t see anything that says update. Maybe something is missing. Before AdLib fixed it I had no media tab and thus couldn’t upload pictures.

(PS: In case I should not respond anymore now it is because I went to sleep. It’s very late in the night where I am.)

Thanks, Cher. Unfortunately I can’t edit the post once it is published. Only admins can change them.
And I never did something to make links with any word – I’m really puzzled why that happened. It wasn’t visible in the preview either.

Hello admins, can someone please make the featured picture for the article “Free Speech and Commenters’ experiences at the HuffPost” smaller? I didn’t notice that not the entire picture would post. (The preview seemed to show AH at the controls)

And a question, why did so many blue links pop up in the article – out of the blue -? That was entirely not planned nor wanted.

Hi For America, I posted “Invite For Collaboration Part 4” yesterday and it is like yours still pending (you can see 2 posts pending in the Dashboard, they are ours).
So I guess you can’t make any changes now, but I’m not sure about that.

Further favoring a post and external smileys seem not to work anymore after the latest update. Maybe you’ve got time to look into that one of those days. But Bank info pleeeease immediately, then I can finalize this tomorrow.
