Displaying 1,261 To 1,290 Of 1,432 Comments So glad that you’re here. I thought it would be good if more conservatives who like to have a real exchange could come here. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 7:37 pm Hi deygirl – AdLibs reply to you was a little hard to find, I hope you don’t mind if I publish it here? The idea with the collaborative article is excellent, since they had earlier other such articles, AdLib knows how to go about. AdLib says: Second, we have written collaborative articles here before in a way that I think has worked very well. First, someone can write a first rough of an article and publish it with a title of “INVITE FOR COLLABORATION – [Article Name]” or something like that. Then any interested members can add comments with materials, notes, sections, etc. and the original author or any colleague can assemble selected material from comments and publish the final article. This HP idea would be a perfect topic for such a collaboration, so many here may have experience and insight to offer some great suggestions and contributions. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 7:30 pm Excellent! » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 12:29 pm Yes, any other person to make a post about this is very welcome. It just should not go unnoticed. This subject is a bit too big a deal for my first post. What about you, AdLib? I hoped you’d read my email… » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 12:23 pm Above you see the reason why I’m roaming about here….. this picture is certainly under copyright, it’s from AP, but I hoped you could see it for a moment or two… » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 12:19 pm Those Dems rock! » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 12:16 pm Funny, I never thought that, but: yes! 😆 » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 12:02 pm @funksands: Can you please make a post with the article about the English Tea Party of the Left? That would be great! You brought it up, that’s why I’m asking you – almost nobody saw that, but they should, it’s a very important issue. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 11:56 am Perfect, Buddy. There’s a lot of material in Troll Busters, I have to check it out » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 11:50 am Yes, lioness, I was inaccurate, its Take Action » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 11:47 am Woohoo, PW! It’s working! Thanks for guiding me, and thanks AdLib for fixing the dashboard glitch. Now I just need to know how can I find out if something is under copyright or not? I have tons of pictures on my computer, and the nice Obama photo I wanted to take first was from AP, that told me enough…. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 11:44 am » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 11:41 am liberallioness, it’s about time! I’m so glad David Plouffe is back – he was sorely missed. WASHINGTON — Republicans won sweeping victories last November by taunting Democrats with “Where are the jobs?” Democrats are now throwing those taunts back, saying it’s Republicans who will knock thousands of Americans out of work with their demands for deep cuts in federal spending. The attacks have caught Republicans at an awkward moment, as they shift their chief emphasis from creating jobs to reducing the size of the government and its deficits. They are finding it hard to claim they can do both at the same time. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 10:46 am Celere, good, then it served at least a purpose. We just figured out on the zootliberal post (Mass exodus…) that we want to write an article together. Now our chosen one to start it has left….. Would you like to join us anyway? If you feel like it you could also start it. If you’re interested, take a look what Dawgbone, deygirl, chasethis and I just recently wrote there. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 9:58 am Patsy, I think the administrators are very busy, and if we want a post to be moved we likely have to request it. I don’t know yet about the Reference tab – I let my question to the administrators/seniors here for the time being, maybe I should ask at the Help Desk though, not sure. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 7:39 am To everybody who ventures out to Huff and other rightwing media: Check out the section “Troll Busters” (Action tab) and you can save a lot of energy…. And then there is the section “References”, also in the Action tab: dear administrators/seniors am I right that here articles can be posted that are useful for future reference? » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 5:56 am Great boomer!!! 😀 » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 5:43 am Love it boomer! How about if you post this later also in the section troll busters? I just discovered that this section exists (in the Action tab). I think it would be a waste to let this work just go by….and it came in very handy to use as a reference and/or an illustration. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 5:23 am bito, I think you read one of them, but then I wrote one more. By that time you were not around for a while. Here it is, you can delete it after reading: Thanks for the reply, bito. I thought about how all of you feel with such an huge influx of newbies. For us new people it’s nice that so many come at the same time, for we can learn and adjust together. But for those who were here for a long time things must have changed quite a bit! » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 1:46 am Thanks, Kalima, I checked the one about the rally already and will have a look at the others too. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 1:26 am Only that it’s worse in that it’s still posing as a progressive outlet. I don’t know if people didn’t even hear Arianna explicitly stating it is not. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 1:19 am Thank you bito, of course I’d give reference. Now I understand how I can go about in that I can take portions out of an article and then refer to the link. Thanks! PS: I wrote another reply to you about how life at HP has been, because you had asked. Maybe you can find it in my comments, it must be far back on OT by now. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 1:16 am Good to know Kalima, in fact very good. Still I’m not sure if I would find what I’m looking for when I would need the above graphic. I think I create my own file on my computer again to collect all these valuable things. I sort of opted out of politics again after there was no real meeting point anymore as Huff was declining fast… ***Edit: Important question: Can we post also about articles on other sites? I thought several times of sharing important stuff, but wasn’t sure if we can work with things that were published elsewhere. » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 12:33 am Thanks for saying that Khirad, And glad you kept your mod 2 badge – it is obviously very useful at times! » Posted By Truth On February 17, 2011 @ 12:04 am Good job, Patsy. We should have a corner on here to collect reference material. ***Edit: Patsy, could you make a post out of this? ***And one more Edit: There IS already a reference section and there is also Troll busters, both in the section “Action”, so it could be posted there, Patsy » Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 11:59 pm Really? That’s worrisome. But honestly, if it’s that bad I would call the police. And I probably would avoid Huff for a while when he’s there. You can still send others there to flag him, many of us have kept their accounts to have a say if need arises. PS: Something is telling me Brownie is none other than the empress without clothes herself…. Ms AH… » Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 9:32 pm We’ve already talked about that David, but it can’t be mentioned often enough: that was because the site lived on creating artificial fights to increase the clicks = advertisement money. » Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 9:15 pm I’m impressed what Pocket Watch wrote recently: why to get upset about an anonymous person you’re never going to meet? After all, the words you read are just PIXELS ON A SCREEN. —– If I think of pixels on a screen I can remain calm and in this way I decline their invitation to get upset. Life is that much more pleasant like this. And we have to be aware: HP was a reichwing outlet for at least the past 2 years. To fight the trolls there is the same as to fight them on ABC or yahoo. My time is too precious to me to engage in activities like that. » Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 8:55 pm This is so sad, may they rest in peace. The only thing that consoles me is the culprit will not escape karma. » Posted By Truth On February 16, 2011 @ 7:27 pmComments Posted By Truth

First, great to see ya Deygirl!
As far as I’ve understood from Kalima and bito everyone can make a post, and pull partly also from other sources if a reference/link to the place of origin is given. Therefore I thought it would be easier to pack things like that in a post after making them visible on OT , or make directly a post. A new post appears in the side tab and hereby is seen by others.
In this way we could collect tons of reference material to draw upon when elections get closer and in discussions with people who merely repeat their talking points. It would be that much easier than to save everything in a file on the computer…
At the Huff the moderation was increasingly on lockdown, meaning that every comment got stuck in moderation. Short (and tame) comments had the most chance to get through and reach people in real time, that’s a main reason why most people kept them short. Further, if the comment didn’t go through, which happened quite often, the loss was not that big. At one point it’s simply too tiring to copy every comment to a document on the own computer – and for longer comments we had to resort to that, otherwise the work was just down the drain if it got deleted. There were also tons of banned words: Arianna, Huffington Post, Palin, any reference to violence, but also God, Messiah and what not. (But interestingly NOT Obama!!) So to avoid the censor filter we resorted to that f.unny s_pelling that we’3e now sometimes joking about.
The threads were also moving very fast at times, and to keep up, it was easiest to just briefly banter back and forth. Of course this part was a lot of fun too!
Yet the severe restrictions on Huff, (- yes, it has to be called censoring, for the guidelines are, what the empress wants to hear or not on any given day -) left their marks on many of us. Instead of speaking our minds freely we always had to find ways to squeeze through as much as possible.
As a matter of fact, this had much more impact on me than I realized while I was over there, although my visits there had become considerably fewer. This censoring really is a sort of brainwashing and it does take some time to get adjusted to the freedom just to speak my real mind.
Now bito, with all this information you save a lot of time, energy and pain! There is no need for you to check it out for yourself and endure the ill-treatment we got there…… This system of simply asking is a clever one, I see!!!

Here on the Planet we are in a safe haven, an environment that encourages real exchange, as opposed to having to prove one is correct.
I guess it’s a good idea to remember this attitude if we venture on other sites once in a while. There is something to EVERYBODY’S POINT OF VIEW, even if we may not always agree with it.
And David, I am very interested in your opinions. Interestingly I found myself more often than not agree with you so far.
As to the notion the misinformation has to be stopped: it’s in vain. We can put out the facts time and again, yes, and should do so. But we should be aware that the rw REALLY pays people to annoy us and bind our energy in defeating them. In this way we’re never free to think about what we really want and how we can achieve it! So instead of trying to stop their blather it’s better to talk about the truth and our hopes and visions in my opinion.
