Time Out for O/T – Vol. 15

Urgent request to people who read HuffPost: are there still a lot of misleading headlines? If yes, please report them to me over the next few days since I need them for the Emerald series. I went there today and it seemed they did not have such horrible headlines anymore. However, this too is interesting to me! Any short reports are very welcome, either here on the thread or 2emeraldcurtain@gmail.com

Sharp observation, Buddy and I think you’re right. Considering that thought processes create something like lanes in the brain (via neurons) your theory seems to be very plausible. Thinking similar or the same thoughts over and over again seems to leave a visible trail in the brain – and obviously also the habit of thinking intently about stuff, trying to comprehend complex issues.

Unfortunately I have no link at hand to the lane-building aspect of neurons. I read that in several places some time ago.

No, KQ, to your credit I have to say there are some systemic changes to be made. The almighty dollar is the main voter today, not the American people.

Yes, I liked it too.

Now I try to post on current, and my posts keep disappearing after I refresh. Any idea what’s going on?

BDM, the sign shop would be the second option in my book…. the first would be to make a decent living as an artist mainly via internet sales. In addition he could also print postcards, T-Shirts and stuff with his art work.

Anyhow, maybe both the suggestions, the artwork and the one-man sign shop can go hand in hand. Yet business brings a lot more bureaucratic stuff with it than selling art on the internet. And business may take away from the time needed to create artwork, which would be a pity regarding Buddy’s exceptional talent.

Yet as I have said, this is just my opinion. Only his heart can tell him which way to go.

That’s in order. It’s just shifting things back to where they belong.

(***Edit… although admittedly in quite a strange way in this video. )

I wish you a lot of luck, Buddy.

The situation may look bad now, but it could very well become an asset, since you’re so talented. If I were in that situation I’d collect the unemployment benefits and in the meantime paint as much pictures to sell as I could. In this way you’d have some security to pull of your sales on a larger scale.
Nowadays it’s quite good to sell via web too, besides exhibitions. As kesmarn said: you may be surprised how well you will do.
Moreover, if I remember correctly, you had several offers from users here to organize exhibitions in their respective places.

And, you could also open a sign shop on your own. Since there is going to be one less you could open a new small one-man business. But I think it would be best to go for your real calling, which (according to my opinion, that is) would be painting.

If you are going to sell via web, there must be a ton of examples as to how to put up a site. And, if you’re going to have e-banking facility I could become your customer too! My wish: a painting of a lotos flower and/or a lotos pond

Happy April Fools’ Day…..

Good question. I just tried but my experiment didn’t work.

Ahhhhhhh! I almost got shocked… but then I remembered the day today…. Happy April Fools’ Day!

You explained that very well, Cher.

Thanks, Buddy, I mailed back.

And the Indians are at least as excited as the folks in the picture!

I think India just won the cricket World Cup semi-finals match against Pakistan….. LOTS of firecrackers are going off right now!

audadvnc, you haven’t changed your tone yet since coming here. You continue to accuse us with your stereotypes and that’s not what I call thoughtful discussions.

Hey 2ccp, NO, you should NOT turn of the notifications if you feel like that. I know it is what one tends to do, but it won’t help you to get out of that mood I guess. Anyhow, you could just be around and not reply (which is totally understandable) and if that’s the case I hope you get to see Buddy’s Howard video:

PS: I don’t mean you should not take a break and regroup. I’m talking about not to close the door to whatever beneficial influences could come in from outside. Take care!

Thanks Cher, I liked that squirrel performance!

» Posted By Truth On March 29, 2011 @ 10:55 am

That’s an excellent initiative and a must-see for everybody who hasn’t seen it yet!

» Posted By Truth On March 27, 2011 @ 9:24 pm

Bito, it would be good to post this also somewhere in the reference section

And I never thought that “lunatic fringe” existed already for a long time!

KQuark, so true! These very same thoughts were crossing my mind too.

I’m sure this will endear him to the general public

Amazing how vile we all can become given the right triggers….. ( just remembering myself battling trolls there). But yes sure, I wouldn’t go to comment on yahoo or ABC either, it has become the same at Aitch Pee now.
