This applied increasingly to EVERY thread and led to many of us withdrawing more and more. – General tone of the site: increasingly screeching was encouraged, as opposed to lead meaningful discussions Stephanie the mawd: “complaints against moderators are ALWAYS removed”…… – The big Obama bashing set in from DAY ONE the President was actually in office – Daily the most blatant headlines, tailored to rile us up against Obama, the teabaggers and finally amongst each other, in that order – In spite of our frequent complaints about the blatantly misleading headlines, the avalanche of unwanted Palin and celebrity articles, the forcing facebook and twitter on us, nothing at all ever changed. I for one got never a reply from them, except a stern warning once, when I tried to mobilize people to write emails to reinstate someone’s account. That was called spamming. So remember: trying to have each other’s back is spamming! – Posting about Arianna: nearly only, what is flattering to her, never ever even the slightest criticism. (Therefore most of the time there were very few comments on her threads.) Well, there clearly is a pattern. Had our voices not been stifled all this time, we would have understood the extent of all that a long time ago. And I for one am sincerely glad that the AOL thing happened. Here is good. Different takes, different experiences, different reasons for staying. Different reasons for leaving.
There was also an article yesterday about the English TeaParty of the Left , as well as tips how to apply it to the US. I wanted to ask Funksands to make an article. A handful of people can do a lot! No worries, we’re in the right place and we will!
I have an idea: you could just start and write the beginning of a post, then we could comment and you could draw of the comments and finalize the article and publish it as part 2 or so?
I think it’s a good thing to prepare for elections in a timely manner…
What you mention here is one of the first things that put me off. Yet I still thought if she’s taking center stage 24/7 she also wants to get some feedback. She does. But of course only if she’s adored! As soon as i recognized that I knew something about this site was terribly wrong.
The truth that she (Stephanie) obscures is that they have indeed blacklisted The Planet’s URL. At the same time, they happily allow links to DrudgeReport, Redstate, etc. So extremist RW sites are fine but don’t post the URL of a Progressive site? And never suggest people there should also get a different Progressive perspective somewhere else.
Well, I had the exact same feelings about 10 days ago, when I came here first. Yet everybody welcomed me so friendly and helps me at every step of the way, and there are so many other new people, that I jumped right in to enjoy my new freedom to express my thoughts. So welcome again, and I’m looking forward to your contributions.
