Ruh roh busted! Once you get settled you really should blog about Duffy, and I’d love to see you confront him at a town hall meeting. Given your disposition and smarts you would have him in a word salad mode faster than palin. You are moving back at a very interesting time indeed.

Dick Biondi is still on the air, like PW posted below I remember WLS at night with a transistor radio under the covers. WLS and WCFL could be tuned in far northern WI on clear nights. I remember “parking” on a few warm Summer nights with the am radio tuned into both stations when I went back up to WI in high school and stayed with my grandma. She thought the two young lads I partook of that activity were nice boys:))) Ah the memories!

Just an observation of mine throughout the years, I’ve yet to see Pat and Bay Buchanan in the same room or TV studio…the movie Psycho comes to mind!

I know I’ve been told I look like my siblings but the resemblance between those two Buchanan characters is downright eerie!

POV kids I have to share this latest update on Dad…

Hello all,

Visited this afternoon around 2:30. Dad was sitting up – the bed adjusted like a chair. All signs good. His color looks normal and he’s already back to talking politics! The OT arrived with some questions and had him do some arm reaches/movements. The PT arrived with a goal of getting him out of the bed and sitting in a chair. They tried yesterday but his BP went up so they weren’t able to complete the task. I left so I wouldn’t distract them.

Green Bay WI Big Pat has no use for snotty walker and paul ryan. If he was a few years younger and not dealing with the after affects of shingles he would have been in Madison with my sisters and I protesting along with us. I hope Dad’s doctors and nurses aren’t republicans! Dad is very opinionated when it comes to politics these days, at Thanksgiving he went around to all his grandchildren who were there and are 18 and older, asking them if they voted:))))

Bito…My NYC daughter’s best male friend and co-worker gets a charge out of the name as well. Waukegan is the hometown of the late Jack Benny, Ray Bradbury and Jery Orbach of Law and Order. and the guy who played the hospital janitor on Scrubs and is now on an ABC show right before Modern Family.

My second oldest daughter is a sales manager for Trump’s new hotel in SoHo, NYC. His name is on it but he isn’t involved in day to day operations, his daughter Ivanka is. My daughter respects Ivanka, she has to interact with her on occasion. My daughter and her co-workers find the “donald” to be an embarrassment, as does almost all of NYC.

Since his birther crusade, he’s not been to the hotel to dine, my daughter thinks Ivanka has told him to stay away for $$$ reasons.

Bito….happening all over now and not a moment too soon. Paul Ryan is getting booed and has a very strong challenger in Rob Zerban who is campaigning now because he has to. Ryan’s donor pockets run deep, but he is a major Dem. target to beat in 2012.

I know Rob a little, his company managed the corporate dining room and kitchen where I used to work. Very impressive resume.

Another WI rep that has got to go is Sean Duffy WI Dist 8, which will be Pocketwatch’s new district. PW doesn’t know this yet, but I’m quietly drafting him to run or at least blog about Duffy once he gets settled in. I’d love to see PW take on Duffy at a town hall meeting, Duffy wouldn’t know what hit him.

As some of you know on here, I posted that my 85 year old Dad had unexpected triple by-pass surgery on Sunday. That type of situation tends to make one a bit tense and on edge. Great news, here’s the email sent by my sister last night…..I’m so pleased and thanks for letting me share this with you. I realized it doesn’t matter how old I am, the little girl in me still loves her Dad and misses her Mom very much. I’m very fortunate to come from a large loving family, I have 9 siblings and we get along for the most part aside from politics and our beliefs.

Just got home from a visit with Dad. He was sitting upright in bed and very chatty which is great! Nurse Denise (7:00 – 7:00 shift) said his improvement from this morning was like night and day. Tomorrow he may be walking.

Dad is working on remembering things and what impressed me is that he recognizes that he can’t remember things (if that makes sense). When I said I would email an update, he specifically wanted me to tell all of you he loves you very much. I will visit again tomorrow and keep you posted.

I should probably write this on a POV HP thread, but good god, I just tried to log onto HP( yes I still went there, because the WI politics drew me back in). Banned again, and I don’t know what email address I used to find out why. I’ve not posted since Friday, and I know nothing I posted was out of line. kochsarecrooks was my AV with an Ernestine AV as my pic. I was the former foxinretreat as well. Like Lardini and others have pointed out, someone doesn’t like me. I’ve used temporary software to hide my IP but HP must have found out who I was. Perhaps my anti Paul Ryan posts and my HP screen name upset the powers that be, I’m not going to try to get back on, I need to move out of that place, but I admit, there are some posters there that I still enjoyed responding to and sharing like minded thoughts.

Hi POV friends, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. I’m a bit tense right now, I’m waiting to hear about my 85 year old Dad. He underwent unanticiapted triple by-pass surgery this morning at 8:30 , I’m sure he’s still in recovery. Right now no news is good news, the fox huge family sibling email should arrive soon. Two of my sisters are with him now, we all decided that the hospital waiting room didn’t need all ten of his children cramming it. Per Dad and his doctors, no visitors for the first two days, I agree with that decision. Thanks for letting me share this with you fine folks.

Read the posts about Dame Elizabeth Taylor and her movie scenes. Liz in the silk slip in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof made a huge impression on me when I first saw that clip. As a young Catholic grade school girl who has to wear a uniform with a slip underneath, I had the feeling I would never look like Liz in a slip when I grew up. Alas, I was correct, even if I used a box of kleenex to stuff myself I would never achieve the same affect Ms. Taylor did. Elizabeth Taylor was one of the first notables to speak out foe AIDS research and AIDS victims, for that alone she deserves high praise, IMO.

More on media, I know I’ve mentioned it in the past, but I’m watching more and more on RT TV America these days, especially at night. My Comcast cable package carries it, but I have to wonder for how long. Thom Hartmann has a great hour long program at 8:00 CST repeating at 10:00 CST Monday-Friday. He along with several other night time hosts are very critical of our MSM. RT TV is commercial free for now, they do run clips promoting themselves and their shows during a program a break. You can stream programming as well at RTTV.com.

I’m still waiting for Viacom and CBS to muzzle Jon Stewart at some point, he’s a lose cannon for them.

jkk…I dated some “older guys” in my teens who could drive to Second City when I was in High School. I remember George Wendt and I’m pretty sure I saw John Belushi perform there before he moved to NYC. I haven’t been to a SC show in ages, that’s got to change. It’s still is a Chicago treasure.

God damn it, this fucking guy that I work with just doesn’t get it, I don’t want to go out with him! He came to my door about 20 minutes ago. I’m at the age when folks don’t show up at my door on a Tuesday night without my expecting them. I don’t like knocks at my door when it’s dark out. I’m in a room addition in the back of my house. He saw all my light are off in front, why the hell won’t he leave me alone! I sent him away with an excuse. I will see him at work tomorrow night and plan to really let him have it. He sent me a St. Patrick’s Day card that is way too sexually suggestive to give someone you never went out with, even once. He’s stalking now. I’m not afraid of him physically, he’s at least 12-15 years older than I am, but it’s unnerving to have this happening! Sorry I had to vent, I don’t want my kids to worry so I’m not telling them about this. I’ll be fine, I’m pissed and right now pissed is a good thing. This ends tomorrow or I will take further action.

Thanks for reposting that Truth, and PW thanks for the original post. As you all know it’s not a “scientific” poll but the more walker and his ilk can get slammed with negative press the better. I’m so pleased to see how much the strongly disapprove numbers have gone up. It was almost even with the strongly approve numbers Sunday night.

Moveon.org rally tonight Defend the Dream Action at the Thompson Center in downtown Chicago, I’m planning to go.

One of the funniest signs I saw in Madison on Saturday was outside an Irish theme bar across from the Capitol…”Walker Made Me Relapse”. I know the disease of alcoholism is no laughing matter, but that sign had me howling with laughter.

Madison was just amazing, I went with HP’s Bastalready. We were on a bus filled with teachers, union guys, and groupie rabble rousers like me. I’m still on a high. 100,000 + peaceful, determined, and united marchers sharing a big moment. The WI FAB 14 were cheered like the political rock stars they are. .

The rally opened with all 100,000+ of us singing “God Bless America”, after the WI FAB 14 and the speakers speakers marched around the Capitol behind the Madison FD members on drums and bagpipes. up to the stage. Folks, that was a sight to see. I loved the guys in the Cops for Labor and unions T shirts too.

I smiled and thanked two Dane County Sheriffs for a great job done on my way back to our bus, they smiled back and said thank you right back at me. The law enforcemen­­t officials looked so happy and pleased. They had every right to be, the 100,000+ crowd they oversaw was amazing
