Time Out for O/T – Vol. 18

Read Brinkers profile above she is not the “wondeful’ supporter of breast cancer everyone believes. Komen focuses too much on research and not enough on prevention. Further they are working with for profit groups.

Good piece on doubts the robo signing controversy should be settled so easy. My thought is that these banks still do not know where the liens are on the homes which was probably the impetus for the Robosigning in the first place. No lien no ownership also may be the reason banks are letting so many homes sit empty until bulldozed by cities?

Karen Handel has many integrity issues. She is basically another rightwing loonie but SGK thought it appropriate to name her SVP. In my working life most SVPs were smart and knew right from wrong.

Interesting rant on Americans Elect tied to George Soros and Jeb Bush? The idea of outing them is probably the only thing on here I would believe but I will go out and check Ackerman’s and Byrd’s associations. I already know Byrd is a former CFR

I am one who does not buy the blind trust excuse. Is he trying to say he trusts this person so much he is willing to invest without knowing who or what? That shows to me his inability to make a decision on his own.

Who do you want answering that 3am call? Someone who trusts his money to blind investing?

The Nation tells the background on Komen foundation. Another instance of the religious right insinuating themselves in an institution in order to change long standing relationships between PP and Komen. And people still do not believe the RR is a grave danger to this country.

I am sure you have read him but Erich Fromm wrote a lot on authoritarianism and how the religious right were susceptible to it as a result of their “salvation ideology” and giving control of oneself to another. By submitting one’s freedom to someone else, this act removes the freedom of choice almost entirely.

Barbara wrote a wonderful book on the poor called Nickled and Dimed. She went around the northeast working at mim wage jobs and living as you would have to live making such money. Of course she had a safety net but she never used it to near the end of her journey as a result of WalMart shenigans I believe. I would recommend reading it. She has written 10 or more books. Thanks for this I will read the long version.

A Clarification from Mitt Romney
About Poor People

LA JOLLA, CA (The Borowitz Report) – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney today released the following letter to the American people:

Dear American People:

Yesterday, comments I made about poor people made me look terrible. This always seems to happen when I say what I really believe.

The fact is, I do care about poor people. That’s because I’m poor myself, when you compare me to Mark Zuckerberg.

According to most projections, Facebook’s IPO should net Mr. Zuckerberg a personal fortune of $28 billion. I couldn’t make a pile of dough-re-mi like that even if I fired people twenty-four hours a day.

Now, let’s take a look at Mitt Romney’s net worth: a measly $200 million. Now do you see why I consider myself poor? Compared to Mark Zuckerberg, Mitt Romney is practically a crack whore.

Now, I’m not going to sit here and envy a rich person like Mark Zuckerberg. That’s exactly what President Obama wants poor people like me to do. Mark Zuckerberg made his money fair and square, by creating useful products like imaginary sheep and angry birds. Say what you will about Facebook, it has totally revolutionized the way we waste our lives.

The fact is, if you’re poor in America, you should do what Mark Zuckerberg did: create a social network. I’ve just started my own, called TwoFaceBook. With TwoFaceBook, your profile doesn’t stay the same for more than two seconds.

In closing, there’s one more reason I don’t worry about poor people. They have Groupons.

Vote for me,

Mitt Romney

http://www.inthesetimes.com/working/entry/12643/mitt_romney_american_airlines_bankruptcy_bain_transport_workers_union_flori/#.TynWMjNqCAM.twitter

Oh Mitt you just cannot get away from it. It is no October surprise but the employees of American Airlines are calling out Romney. Seems AMR the parent company has retained Bain & Co to help them reorganize in Chapter 11. American has announced elimination of 13k jobs, eliminating their pension plan for a 401k and cutting healthcare for retirees.

“He’s talking about creating jobs,” says Transport Workers Union President James Little, but “he’s not a job creator. He’s a job cremator.” TWU represents 24,000 members at American Airlines and American Eagle whose jobs and benefits are threatened in the bankruptcy process.

AMR’s retention of Bain (for consulting on its American Eagle subsidiary) came out the same week as news that AMR had contributed less than $7 million to its pension fund, out of a normally required $100 million, for the month of January. Days later, AMR increased its contribution. “I have a hard time sitting back,” says Little, “when the company is taking hard-earned money…to pay $525,00 a month to have this company come in and tell them how to cut heads.”

Uh oh we have a new boogie man to worry about and Rick Warren is on their side. Not sure how Warren could be involved with this and be a Dominionist but these people think he is. AND of course, UCC Methodist Episcopal Lutheran (some)Jewish Catholic and Presbyterian are the big devils in this crime. Some are now supporting a new religion called Chrislam. Yes folks that is right they are forming a bond with Islam in order to usher in the Messiah Jesus Christ/Isa and have a one world government. NTEB = Now The End Begins. Oh lordy what will these evangelicals think of next? Sounds to me like a persecution of the mainline churches with Synagogues and Catholic thrown in. But watch out people The Chrislams will be coming while you are asleep to make you convert.

“NTEB has reported extensively on the growing Chrislam movement. Chrislam, started in part by Rick Warren of Saddleback Church’s embrace of the joining of Christianity and Islam, has grown dramatically and now has infected many hundreds of churches and denominations all across America. A new group called Faith Shared is now spearheading the move to merge Christianity with Islam, and in the process provoking the very judgment of God down upon us as a nation. (NOTE: Rick Warren is not affiliated as far as we know with Faith Shared)
The following is taken directly from the Faith Shared website:

Light and darkness cannot be mixed

“Faith Shared asks houses of worship across the country to organize events involving clergy reading from each other’s sacred texts. An example would be a Christian Minister, Jewish Rabbi and Muslim Imam participating in a worship service or other event.

Suggested readings will be provided from the Torah, the Gospels, and the Qur’an, but communities are encouraged to choose readings that will resonate with their congregations. Involvement of members from the Muslim community is key.”
