Bain Capital made a $2.1 million dollar investment in the company that sold high-priced babydolls in a line called My Twinn, dolls that were customized to look like the little girl they were being given to. According to the article, the idea was brought to Romney by a personal friend from Brigham Young University and Harvard Business School. In addition to Romney taking a seat on the company’s board of directors, Lifelike Co. also hired Romney’s brother-in-law Rodney Davies as an executive with a $100,000 annual salary after Romney introduced him to the company. Bain Capital eventually sold its stake in Lifelike Co. in 2001 for a mere $15,000, according to the article. Although Bain divested the company and Romney was no longer on Likelike’s board of directors, he curiously allowed the company to do its holiday catalog babydoll photo shoots at his house in Utah while he was running for governor of Massachusetts in 2002. After Romney was already sworn in as governor, his brother-in-law was fired from the company and later sued for attempting to start a competing doll company. Lifelike Co. went into bankruptcy liquidation in 2004, although the My Twinn “The Just Like Me” brand of custom babydolls for girls still appears to be on the market under a new company. http://voices.yahoo.com/etch-sketch-survived-romney-doll-companys-fate-will-11140208.html RUH ROH – i READ ABOUT THIS MONTHS AGO BUT DID NOT CONNECT IT TO HIS CLAIM OF 1999 SOME INVESTIGATOR I AM LOL » Posted By SueInCa On July 13, 2012 @ 6:39 pm Anyone watching Rachel Maddow? Halfway through I found out it was Mormon and I was ready to leave. They also have a temple there and I refused to go on the property so my mom had to go alone on another trip to hawaii. My husband was by the fountain in the front and you could see morman “security” walking towards him like some secret society type of security. All dressed alike in suits and acting like thugs. My husband was doing nothing but they came at him like he was a thief. Well you can imagine what I did then……………………… » Posted By SueInCa On July 12, 2012 @ 1:05 pm God she is am embarrassment for MSNBC. Her dumbass husband cannot still have that much pull. I have refused to make my tax returns public and 2.) I have hidden my money in bank accounts in Switzerland and the Caymans. These two rumors, while true, have made me look very bad. So I thought I would take this opportunity to explain my finances in terms even a poor person could understand. Let’s say you met the love of your life, and you wrote her a series of passionate love letters. In these letters, you told her how you intended to protect her, cherish her, and always keep her safe. And then let’s say somebody went and told you that you had to make those love letters available for the world to see. If you’re even half the man I am, you’d say, “Heck no.” Well, in my case, the love of my life is my money. (If you don’t believe me, ask Ann.) And my tax returns are like my love letters to my money, detailing the lengths to which I’ll go to keep my precious money from being taken away from me. If you think I should make those love letters public, then I’m sorry, my friend, but you don’t believe in love. Now, let’s say you asked the love of your life to marry you, and you’re fortunate enough that she said “yes.” Should someone be able to force you to spend your honeymoon in a ratty room at some Motel 6, where God knows what crackheads and whores slept before you? Or should you be allowed to take your bride to a five-star Swiss chateau, perhaps, or an exclusive beach on Grand Cayman? I think you can see where I’m going with this. In conclusion: if refusing to release my tax returns and having foreign bank accounts is wrong, I don’t want to be right. I did it all for love. And as your President, I promise I will never, ever come between you and the thing you love. Unless you’re gay. (Laughing Out Loud.) Vote for Me, Mitt Romney The Borowitz Report » Posted By SueInCa On July 10, 2012 @ 6:05 pm SEX REPUBLICAN STYLE America is a country based on solid Christian values that will endure forever. The problem is that Democratic politicians are hypocrites that do not live up to the ideals of our founding fathers, particularly in regards to sex. Let’s not forget that John Edwards cheated on his wife and Bill Clinton had sex with an intern in the White House. Liberals are unable to understand inherently the key values of sex that we Republicans understand. That’s why I am writing this – Sex Republican Style. There is one underlying tenant of sex handed down from the Lord above. Sex is intended strictly for purposes of procreation in a committed relationship. This is written in the Constitution, the Bible and all over the internet. It is one of the fundamental truths of life and liberals are the hypocrites that never follow the basics of life. Once one accepts this basic fact, it makes lawmaking a lot easier. Let’s start sorting it out. Gay marriage is wrong. Gay people are unable to reproduce, and therefore should not be allowed to marry. How hard is that to understand? God has spoken. If God had wanted gay people to be married, then they would be able to reproduce. QED. Post menopause women should not be allowed to marry. Once a women reaches the point where she no longer can reproduce, then it is time to put her out to pasture. If she is already married, then the male should be free to enter another marriage with another woman that can reproduce. Again, God has spoken. Males can reproduce until death, but females no. Don’t shoot the messenger here. I’m not making the rules, just interpreting from the Holy Bible itself. Vasectomies and hysterectomies should be illegal. The only point behinds these horrible procedures to have sex WITHOUT procreating. In the Republican world, the doctors performing these procedures are worse than the abortion doctors. Think about how many lives we can save if we outlaw these horrible procedures. Liberals are not going to like this, but tough. Female orgasms are meaningless since they play no role in the reproductive process. God has spoken. Male orgasms and female eggs are all that matter. We, Republicans, are OK with female orgasms, but let’s be clear. It is not the point of sex, it is at best a by product. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, liberals. Wrapping up on the obvious. Teen age sex, extra marital sex, and pornography are all illegal. None of these have anything do to with procreation. The worse of course is pornography since people are having sex to make money rather than have babies. Pornography could only be considered legal if the event produced a child. To be honest, Republicans are sick of the liberal, old fashioned and archaic interpretation of sex. It is time we updated our collective thinking to the progressive Republican agenda. Happy procreating!” It does not appear to be satire either. http://www.redneckrepublican.com/ » Posted By SueInCa On July 9, 2012 @ 7:09 pm Here is the settlement document on Brclays. Perhaps there was an effort to make this happen in the original intent? Trusting banks as I do I would not be surprised. How did we ever allow this all to happen? There are precious few that really care in the upper echelons of society. » Posted By SueInCa On July 9, 2012 @ 10:37 am I just R/T it a few times more. Does he think he is the king? That he can do anything he wants and screw common decency? Yes he is a portrait of the far right republican party right now. Remember the night on Twitter when Karoli or that houston girl cher you and I were going over those SEC statements? We dropped the ball on that one but I am going back to my Romney piece here to see what was mentioned.
Unlike the famous Etch A Sketch, both the gaffe and the toy, the bizarre tale of Romney’s babydoll company investment with his friends and in-laws cannot simply disappear like a metal lithograph — no matter how hard his campaign tries to shake it”
I love his/her writing. She/he really does good investigative work to write the blogs.
