They went to meetings for weeks to prepare for how to react and go in to a civil disobedience mode if the police were to do this kind of thing. It was drilled into their heads that they were there to represent the community in a civil manner. Thanks for this. Chris Hedges also writes on the Religious Right/Dominionists and that is how I was introduced to him. Interesting interview here where RT actually lets him speak his own mind. She did ask some probing questions but she let him answer on his own terms. Great interview on both sides.
I might add that despite not following up on this for America, we did go in and help Germany, Italy and Japan write their own Bill of Rights during re-construction.
the west coast has always been a hotbed of restless people. I think they will come through. Don’t forget people are spending their own money to travel for this so I also would not underestimate their resourcefulness in getting a caravan from NYC to LA or SF. We have a Stock Market, Financial District and Federal Reserve Bank in SF as well.

I try to live that quote each and every day. Sometimes it gets me in trouble but to me that is a good kind of trouble. I bought that post card years ago at the Holocaust Museum along with some others and framed each of them. They have been hanging in a prominent place in each home I have lived in since then. To me, they spoke to what I am about and stood for and I am proud to display them for all who enter my home to see.
