jkk, that is a White Pitcher Plant.. very delicate, much like an orchid… I used to see a similar plant in Wisconsin bogs called a ‘Jack In The Pulpit.’

I know I’m a little weird, but I keep carnivorous plants. They have their own strange beauty. Unfortunately, I lost them all in the hard freezes we had this year, so I will be starting over. Here are some examples…

Patsy, she’s chased him a few times in the past, and he stops and she stops. Now, we run into him usually near that other cat’s place (a female) that Maggie keeps trying to make friends with(?). Seems to be a meeting place now, of sorts.

Yesterday, he was parked outside that other female’s place for a couple of hours, and we cruised past three times, and each time she walked up and sort of sauntered past him at a couple of feet at most.

Today, it was nose-to-nose, and when she just up and walked past him, he started to follow… then disappeared.

He was waiting outside our building a half-hour later when we made it home…

Cat drama… to be continued, I think.

I’d sign it.

Morning, Patsy…

I think HRH Maggie has met her equal. There is a big tomcat that we’ve run into several times lately on our walk. Maggie approaches him pretty easily now, and he sits there regally. She’s now to the point of walking up to him (carefully) sniffing, then just sauntering past.

When we got home today after meeting up with him three times in an hour, he was outside our building. I think something’s up!

Gotta fit the humiliation to the person.

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 6:32 pm

Awwww…. you guys are pikers!

I have visions of capturing OBL and locking him in a glass cage on Times Square every day for 18 hours a day wearing nothing but pink tights and a tutu, maybe with a little piggy for company.

Now THAT would be humiliation!

KB – Yeah, pretty much… or maybe steel wool.

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 6:18 pm

KB – A “hair shirt” is a horse hair or goat hair shirt or girdle worn under the clothes to mortify the flesh. Adopted by most of the religious orders of the Middle Ages, in imitation of the early ascetics, and in order to increase the discomfort caused by its use it was sometimes even made of fine wire.

Fun stuff!

ghsts – I never went THERE! Good Gawd! Smiley

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 6:00 pm

HH – LOLOL Now wait a minute! I spent 8 years in Catholic school. And one thing I know about Catholic religious organizations, especially the good nuns, is that those organizations are just about the most perfect example of socialist/communist organizations in the world… in the classic and dictionary sense. Most orders have an oath of poverty. No individual owns much of anything.

From each, according to their ability, to each, according to their need.

Of course, that says nothing about their style of discipline!

Cher –

“The Law is an ass!”

Mark Twain

‘Nuff said…

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 5:29 pm

Well, the boss is sitting on my chest (typing around her at the moment, and wanting her walk (again!).

“She Who Must Be Obeyed”… says it all!

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 11:50 am

BDM – I once had a mutt with 3 legs…. name… why Peggy, of course!

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 11:46 am

Artist – Yup! At one point I heard a noise in the living room and came around the corner, and Harry was hanging off the dewlaps of the Rotty… and the Rotty was running in circles, not knowing what to do! LOL

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 11:42 am

BDM – Maggie would like him! She has no problem meeting dogs! Cats, now… that’s another story!

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 11:38 am

BDM – Ahhhh… if you open your pic in Windows Picture Manager, one of the Edit options is to “Compress Pictures.” I have the same problem. I compress to “Document” size, reducing a 4mB pic file down to under 500kB, and I “Save As” those as a separate file and folder.

You have the technology…!

****EDIT****
Picture Manager is a Microsoft Office app… sorry… let me check to see what Windows has built in!

****EDIT****
You can resize in PAINT, but be careful to resize at about 50% and do a Save As a JPEG and a new name so as not to replace the original. Paint does not warn you.

Artist – my ShiTzu was named “Harry” …mainly because she was!

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 11:03 am

Artist – When I was married, at one point we had 4 dogs… a ShiTzu, a miniature Dacshund, a mutt with 3 legs, and a Rottweiller.

Guess who ruled the roost?

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 11:01 am

BDM – you have to go to your Dashboard.

Once there, look on the left side and select Media – Add New.

This takes you to a small popup that asks you to select the pic you want to add to PPOV Library of images.

Do that, and once it’s done crunching, a view will appear that has all the pic info.

Look all the way to the bottom of that, and you will see an HTTP address. Copy that address for pasting later.

Exit by selecting the PlanetPOV click up on the top of the Dashboard (kinda small)

Go to your comment and click on the ‘Add an image’ click (just below the Submit button)

A little popup appears, and Paste that HTTP address there

Click OK and that address will appear in your comment.

When you submit the comment, the image appears.

Truth – I have TH on in the background and also Randi Rhodes to follow (or Ed Schultz if that’s your style).

And I do want to get to that AOL part in your project. I haven’t forgotten.

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 10:27 am

AdLib – Thanks for the info. I never try to assume… we all know where THAT gets you… LOL… hence the little mini-poll.

And this is dry stuff for the most part, and a lot to digest. Few comments can mean everything was covered and no comments are needed, or that people haven’t gotten to them, or that they are … well… all kinds of possibilities.

As I said before, just taking the temp, and this is a good place to pause.

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 10:24 am

KQ – Thanks. Again, I’m not looking for anything other than some feedback so I know how to proceed.

I would suggest that you look over the comments on some of the posts. There is good info there and forward those along with the articles.

If she has any questions.. you know how to get hold of me.

Artist – A ShiTzu?

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 10:17 am

2nd, and not return anytime soon? I’m for that!

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 9:53 am

jkk – Believe it or not, this is known in the business as “Dialing for Dollars.” It is the same thing as telemarketing. The idea is that if you send out a million emails and get a 1/10th of 1% response, that’s a LOT of money. Or even 1/100th of 1%. Or even one or two bites…

Just that alone makes it worth it.

» Posted By PocketWatch On March 2, 2011 @ 9:41 am

jkk – I kinda figured that it was a LOT of information, and sort of figured that with the huge things happening, people are more interested in those current events. No problems here!

I would post this stuff even if no one read it, since I want it out there, even if, as you say, just for reference.

Maggie is just busy chasing squirrels and has no comment!

@ All—–

I guess I am taking a little poll of my own.

Is anyone still following my Business The Right Way series? I notice a heavy falloff of comments and discussion.

I don’t know if I got in too deep for people, or if other, more important things are taking up everyone’s attention.

Or, maybe it’s just boring!

All that’s ok by me, but I guess I have hit a spot where the series is fairly complete, although there is more to cover and explain. As it stands right now, what I have posted will serve anyone well and they would have a lot to chew on.

I guess what I’m asking is, should I continue, or lay it down for now and maybe add stuff later on down the road?

Again, it’s not about me or how I feel, I’m just curious. With little feedback, it’s hard to figure. I don’t take stuff personally, so just tell me so I can serve anyone that is interested, or tell me to move on.

Thanks for all your support, and thanks to PPOV for giving me a platform to publish this stuff and maybe educate/help a few folks.

Smiley

BDM – I used to go with a woman that watched all the celebrity gossip stuff on the tube and read People magazine, and always wanted to talk about that stuff… who was getting divorced, who was going with who… and I finally asked “Why should I care? I don’t know these people, and they have nothing to do with my life!” I never understood the fascination.

Someone with millions of dollars and a narcissistic lifestyle gets no sympathy from me. Seems as if they simply have too much time on their hands.
