The “Calista Gingrich Hair Fogger One” was blanketing the area with White Rain Freeze No. 4 in an attempt to “solidify” voters, and keep in place the entire populace. (sorry to already civilized Southern denizens) When Newt’s done colonizing the moon perhaps he can set his sights on civilizing the south. And a really insightful one, even: There’s no “natural likelihood” for Gingrich to win Georgia. Newt used to be my congressman. He had a specially drawn congressional district that went all over everywhere – veering this way & that to avoid every black person in its path. It was designed as an absolutely guaranteed Republican district (Democrats were happy with it, too, because it went hand in hand with guaranteeing a number of solid Democratic districts). Anyway, in spite the fact that Newt’s whole district was deliberately designed not to reflect any kind of geographic or political community, but simply to include as many right-wing white people as possible, every two years he had serious difficulty winning the primary. The number of people (even right-wing white people) who had a negative opinion of him was so great that every two years he’d be challenged by a no-name Republican with no money, and every two years he’d find himself winning by only 52-48%, or 54-46%. White, right-wing Georgia Republicans were saying, “I have no idea who Newt’s opponent is, but I’m voting for him – I don’t like Newt.” This is true – I’m not making it up. Newt Gingrich is someone who becomes less likeable the more you get to know him. He would not be remotely electable against Obama, but we’ll never be given the chance to know for sure, because there’s no possible way he could ever win the Republican primary. Newt Gingrich might lose Georgia? Yawn.
