The fact she was once the wife of Michael Huffington, a Conservative Republican who, as most of the loudest do, admitted they were either gay or bisexual as he did, doesn’t really surprise me. I’ll never forget the campaign he waged, pretending to be one thing and being another to get elected. And she was sitting right next to him, cosigning everything. Then she had her epiphany and became “progressive”. I compliment her for her business savvy and tapping into something that hadn’t been harnessed before, a liberal fan base. But in just the past 3 weeks, as a regular commenter on HP, it had become extraordinarily obvious that her intention wasn’t to give a voice to progressives, it was all about money. In just a few short weeks, it had become almost impossible to post legitimate comments and engage in reasonable dialog with both friends and foes. Pending comments and deleted ones alike, HP became a wasteland.

HP and AOL are free to be and do whatever they like. I wish them well. I will keep my account there, just in case I am wrong and this merger manages to make things better. Because, the reality is that there aren’t many sites we can go to and comment that can spread our words to so many people at the same time. But I doubt it. In the meantime, I will devote my efforts to making an up and coming place like PlanetPov.com the best it can be.

Not sure where that all came from or why I am still awake but I guess I am pretty jazzed that we have a new place to play and so many HP regulars are already here.

Perhaps it already exists but I can’t seem to find a way to read all of my consolidated comments and their replies like HP. If it exists, please show me the way. If it doesn’t then it’s my #1 suggestion.

While I will remain here, there is a place(the singular of the things that rotate around the sun)+ a point of view(excep­t only the first letter of each word) and the most common ending for a web address that is young and raw but is good. Lots of our former friends and fans to be found. It’s another place to enjoy.

It made it up. We’ll see how long it stays that way. I can’t get people over here if I am removed.

I’ve been able to get this through for the time being:

There are these thing rotating around the sun, but not plural. Add a point of view, but just the first letters of each word. Then the most common ending to a web address.

God I hate HP censorship.

I am going to work overtime to get them all over here. It’s like discovering blogging all over again for the first time. Give me some of the alias links if you can. Right now I am just referring to it as “the site that shall not be named” and it is getting through and most seem to get what I am talking about.

FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gonna go back over to HP and grab a few more to join. Bill Looney, Abby4ever, Blueeyedbull, the usual suspects. I’d forgotten what it was like to be able to post freely. That was the reason I originally went to HP. I wanted to be engaged in a free flow of thoughts and ideas. Pretty quickly it became about badges, censorship and mindless back and forth with trolls(Look!!!! I can write the word TROLL without the comment pending or being deleted) who, in many cases I couldn’t even engage because HP would censor.

How does one submit something they have written for consideration to be posted on the front page or be featured? Still just trying to get a feel for the differences btw here and HP.
