A poll today showed that people considered Ronald Reagan the greatest president ever: That’s the headline all over HP and other websites. Here’s the facts behind that headline. 19 percent picked Reagan. Only 14 percent picked Lincoln. In fact, Reagan and George W. Bush picked up 21 percent in the poll. Meanwhile liberal/progressive/Democratic presidents (Both Roosevelts, Kennedy, Obama, Bill Clinton, Harry S. Truman, Abraham Lincoln) got 58 percent in the poll. George Washington got 10 percent, probably because to some people that’s the only president they’ve ever heard of. In all seriousness, was Washington a conservative or a liberal?
