– sort of an upright, valved bass trombone used as the bass brass instrument in late-19th century Italy, corresponding to the tuba but presumably more snarly and trombone-y if you able to A-B them. And the offstage trumpets were up at the top rear of the hall, very spectacular – Disney Hall is the dream hall for offstage effects.
