They are charged with serving and protecting our rights, and even if provoked (which I don’t think was the case, and don’t condone)it is their job to remain professional and diffuse the situation. They are supposed to be trained to do so! From all I’ve seen and read, the police rioted–NOT the demonstrators. And, typically, they lied about it. Tomorrow (today) we will see interviews with the injured. There are also solidarity marches planned in other cities, so yes, the City of Oakland just radicalized more people and made the Occupy Movement grow. This is good, but I fear the next wave of protests will be much harder on everyone. I pray that the protesters remain peaceful, because that is how we will win. And I agree that we should not judge all police by these in the Bay Area. Also, Oakland is a tenderbox and has very bad relations with the authorities.
