Whatever else about him, I don’t think he’s a stone-cold killer. The whole thing just reeks–the corruption, cover-up, the total disregard for any justice. But did I imagine it, or wasn’t there a photo of Zimmerman released showing his face bloodied? I saw one, but it could have been doctored. And when his claims against Trayvon first came out, I also thought, “How do we know he didn’t bang his own head against the ground to make a defense?” I know we are all impatient for an arrest and trial, but personally I’d rather the investigators from DOJ and FBI take the time to build an airtight case–not just against Zimmerman, but against the SPD officers and state officials involved.
