Time Out for O/T – Vol. 18

BREAKING! It’s not George Zimmerman crying for help on 911 recording, 2 experts say

Tom Owen, forensic consultant for Owen Forensic Services LLC and chair emeritus for the American Board of Recorded Evidence, used voice identification software to rule out Zimmerman. Another expert contacted by the Sentinel, utilizing different techniques, came to the same conclusion.

OK,I don’t know how reliable these forensics actually are and further, I’ve been warned the Sentinel is a crap RW rag, but this seems like the other shoe just dropped!

Well, I’m here. 🙁

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 31, 2012 @ 4:31 pm

I’ve posted the oral arguments each day on The Daily Planet–both audio and transcript links–if anyone wants to refresh their memory.

Bito, Steve Benen at Maddow Blog does top Romney lies of the week every Friday, I think. Also, Greg Sargent at WaPo’s The Plum Line does a good job too. But I agree that it should be a segment on national TV.

If I won more than half a billion, PPOV would make PuffHo look like a supermarket circular.

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 30, 2012 @ 6:44 pm

Gee, KT–great idea!

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 30, 2012 @ 6:32 pm

Just so y’all know–and you can save this comment for reference–I’m predicting that I am NOT gonna win the MegaMillions tonight. 🙁

And now for something wonderful–President Obama today:

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 30, 2012 @ 6:03 pm

I do not believe you were EVER actually wrong, bito. Perhaps just misunderestimated.

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 30, 2012 @ 5:46 pm

KT, are you on Twitter? Someone just asked me.

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 30, 2012 @ 5:42 pm

I think he has some real psychological issues. Maybe simple egomania. But almost as if he needs to fail.

WoW, deaniac from The Peoples’ View made Olbermann’s Worst Persons! In that case, buh-buy Keith, ya loser!

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 30, 2012 @ 4:11 pm

What’s the deal with him, anyway? Here’s the NYT’s article:
http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/03/30/current-tv-dismisses-keith-olbermann/?src=tp

I can only think he must be a loose cannon, and a bit of a diva. I mean, Current is hardly the corporate media. I don;t know, since I haven’t watched him since he left MSNBC–too EmoProg for me.

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 30, 2012 @ 4:07 pm

KT– That was hysterical!

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 30, 2012 @ 4:01 pm

Reports say he was shot in the chest, KT. With a 9mm.

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 30, 2012 @ 1:29 pm

Why not, Khirad? What am I missing?

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 29, 2012 @ 11:10 pm

I did need some good news today, Sally. As you say, those young people gave me a lot of hope.

AdLib, please DO go on! Another post? Instead of which game the candidates would be, maybe we can have some fun thinking about the poetic justice of their final resting place.

After all the hatred we’ve been witnessing, here’s some much needed LOVE:

Really gave me a lift.

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 29, 2012 @ 10:16 pm

That’s brilliant, Sally! Can I please be die from hundreds of mink bites though?

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 29, 2012 @ 10:10 pm

Oh, that would be outrageous at $3000.00, but at $2999.99, it’s a bargain! But seriously, I’m disappointed. When I noticed the headline on our sidebar widget, I thought it was actual bacon. That would’ve been so cool–a coffin made out of the thing that killed you. I started thinking of coffins made out of asbestos, of a smashed car, out of meth amphetamine, and of course, entirely out of tobacco. Not only a classy burial, but a cautionary tale.

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 29, 2012 @ 9:32 pm

Actually, Sally, I don’t think so. I think Zimmerman could have been in mild shock. Whatever else about him, I don’t think he’s a stone-cold killer. I don’t believe it’s even possible to be badly injured on the grass, but even if he was I’m not sure one would feel those injuries with all that adrenaline.

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 29, 2012 @ 8:05 pm

And thank YOU for putting the video up! The whole thing is FUBAR. I honestly don’t like the way this is being litigated in the media-it feels unmethodical, chaotic. But in the absence of the system doing its job, there is a vacuum being filled by citizens’ need for justice.

This Anderson Cooper interview with the two Trayvon Martin murder witnesses is amazing. They say the police discounted their statements; sided with Zimmerman from the get-go. Also say Zimmerman was on top of Trayvon. One more thing: we’ve all seen that long grassy area where the shooting took place. The operative word is grassy. How’d Trayvon bash Zimmerman’s head against the grass and cause injury?

Sally, I definitely will. I can’t believe what is happening to this country.

(The reason I added the printed link is that sometimes my computer runs too slow, and if I watch a video, everything freezes.)

» Posted By Chernynkaya On March 29, 2012 @ 6:22 pm

Sally I just read that from the NYTs! Horrible. Here’s the link to the printed story:
‘Officers, Why Do You Have Your Guns Out?’
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/06/nyregion/fatal-shooting-of-ex-marine-by-white-plains-police-raises-questions.html?_r=1

Summary: 68 year old AA vet has heart problems. He uses his MedicAlert, and police repsond. For some reason, he feels better, won’t answer the door. Cops break in, taser him, shoot him, kill him.

I agree, Bourne! BTW, I answered your earlier reply below, but since there was no more room to reply directly (after a certain number of replies it gets too narrow), so please scroll down to see it. 🙂

Hi Bourne, so nice to meet you!

I never get up early enough for Chris Hayes (I live on the West coast) but I have caught some segments on line.

I know everyone raves about him, and I like him, but you’re so right about his ADD-like personality! He’s so, well, excited and frenetic.

And to be honest, there’s something a little too hipster, too Professional Left for my taste. But as I say, maybe since I haven’t watched that much, I’m being unfair.

Anyway, I’m so glad you joined us and look forward to more conversations.

None. The whole thing just reeks–the corruption, cover-up, the total disregard for any justice.

But did I imagine it, or wasn’t there a photo of Zimmerman released showing his face bloodied? I saw one, but it could have been doctored. And when his claims against Trayvon first came out, I also thought, “How do we know he didn’t bang his own head against the ground to make a defense?”

I know we are all impatient for an arrest and trial, but personally I’d rather the investigators from DOJ and FBI take the time to build an airtight case–not just against Zimmerman, but against the SPD officers and state officials involved. This is a national disgrace.

Totally forgot about that movie, Khirad! It was Wall-e prototype!
