I must be suspicious-looking, I guess. Part of the reason is that I have a terrible fear of flying, and so when I walk up to the terminal, I’m very nervous-looking… sweating and shaking, shuddering and looking in all directions… my wife says that if we ever fly again, she’s gonna give me a tranquilizer. I’m just glad that they seem to be making the calculation that having a spokesman assure us that they “don’t answer to Wall Street,” is a good way to appeal to their potential customers. I’m glad that they feel that they should point out that they are answerable to their customers first, and not to their shareholders. Do I believe that for a minute? Naaaah. But it IS a good sign that concerns like these are being publicly acknowledged by Corporate America.
