Time Out for O/T – Vol. 18

Hi Sue

I’m answering your last message here because apparently the planet has threads to, and I am a master of finding the end of them. I just gave KT a link of my lawyer friend’s last comment to me. Continuing to look at the situation from various vantage points; no conclusive ideas yet, but worth the read.

I’m absolutely delighted to meet you and CL. Benecia is the first bridge crossing on the way to SF. I hope we will get together may in late spring or early summer. Excellent. CL lives down the street.

I live in Fair Oaks and go to Rocklin often (I am an RC Willey junky – love that store. I own a lot of their merchandise and in exchange they now own me.

Look forward to more conversations.

I must thank my great friend, Murph, for teaching me how to make links.

Hi AL

This is “off topic” within OT. I wanted to acknoweldge your response to my discussion on my students and the store experience.

I really hope we will see the end of prejudice but as you say it will still take time. The tragedy of the hate that has been elevated for the purpose of winning elections is just beyond comprehension.

There is considerably less attention now on the immigration situation. I would guess it’s not because the anti-immigration people have softened but because today’s hate seems to come in stages. Now we hate non-Christians – it’s not new but it’s more in focus since Santorum decided the purpose of a US President is to set the standards of morality and religiosity.

And everybody loves a circus.

I’d like to run the concession stand.

I think he knows a lot, KT – probably fabricated to support Zimmerman’s self-defense plea. Given Hannity’s propensity to ignore anything that resembles truth, I’m sure he bought the story, in which case it would serve the prosecution.

AL

Brilliant and Thinker – without a doubt something we could find in his CV. The most narcissistic man, so far, to emerge in teh 21stC

Our greatest hope may be that he’ll be relegated to the footnotes in an American History book under the chapter on “Humor in American Politics.”

Hi again

I sent a comment to my attorney friend re the Hannity interview (‘m guessing he knows details; why would Zimmerman call him and ask for an interview if he didn’t intend to fabricate the beginning of a defense? And who better than Hannity?

I’ll post another comment and ask your question. His approach is pretty responsible in that he cautioned a few time not to jump too quickly into the conclusion pool – wait for evidence and let the system work. I think, since he alluded to this being political and a reaction to public opinion, he may be suggesting that other forces are involved.

Hi Sue

I hope they will. I did not watch the entire interview of Hannity and don’t know what news program it was. I saw only a clip of it, but i did see a less arrogan – not worried but more reticent Hannity.

Sittingin a studio behind a mic is a lot different from sitting in a courtroom as witness in a murder case – if it comes to that. I agree with another statement I read of yours to KT that this could end up in Federal Court as a civil rights case, which I think would be true justice since Florida screwed up the Casey Anthony investigation and case and I would hate to see Zimmerman escape some sort of punishment.

What of CA do you live in? I found out CL lives in my city.

KT

There’s one thing I forgot to ask the attorney friend on HP. Could either the prosecution or defense subpoena Sean Hannity to testify and reveal his conversation with Zimmerman? He said he will not discuss it when interviewed.

That in itself could make it the trial of the century. For once, Mr. Hannity, there will be serious consequences when you lie.

I hope that happens! I’ll let you know what he says.

Do you have any idea how many times Fox has been left standing in the middle of their own muck as they continue adding their own spin? Remember the runaway bride who called her family and said she’d been kidnapped the day before the wedding? Fox and Friends was all over that story. The 3rd or 4th day, Doocey talked to her parents, on air of course, and was so, so sympathetic and concerned for her safety. Then they went to commercial, and when they came back the news broke that she’d been found in New Mexico and confessed it was a hoax. I almost felt sorry for Doocy, but not enough to send him a “have a good day” card. He looked embarrassed and didn’t know what to say – none of them did. idiots.

Hi AdLib

Stopped in to say hello and found some interesting stuff in TO/OT. This is my favorite part of the Planet.

I loved this story. Watching Newt self-destruct is now part of the entertainment component of presidential elections.

The names I never want to see again after November 12: Newt Gingrich, Calista Gingrich, Rich Santorum, Mitt Romney, Ann Romney.

KT, I laughed too. The US checkbook was in his hands at one time, wasn’t it? As Speaker, he had to have some authority since Congress makes the money decisions. Maybe we should ask the GAO to conduct a thorough audit to find out if there is some obscure agency with a connection to the diamond business in Africa.

More despicable, in my view, than his arrogant assumption that anyone cares any morewhat he thinks is his willingness to continue publicly humiliating himself and his wife.

How much would you like to bet (not $10,000) that Calista will divorce him in the next several months?

Hi KT

One of my friends on HP is an attorney and we’ve discussing this. He commented today that he thinks the state may not have developed enough evidence to charge 2nd degree (I was surprised to); thinks it’s political and reaction to public outrage; thinks if there’s a trial it will be a “no plea” (I don’t know what the result would be); and also said a civil suit could be filed against the Home Owners Associaiton for permitting a “vigilante” neighborhood watch guy on the premises. I asked whether or not the HOA covenants that all homeowner residents must sign would have included some guarantee of security or if the fact it’s a gated complex would assume it was secure. He hasn’t responded yet, but I’ll let you know. His reference to the “vigilante” would infer, as I read it, that the HOA committee should have been familiar with Zimmerman since it was probably not his first ride around the area. An added question would be if Zimmerman had been given authority by the HOA to come through the gate onto the property.

He added that he’s not sure what the feds plan to do.

Interesting observations.

Does anybody else think Keith is beginning to look a lot like Newt?

I’ve watched him for years, but I am really losing interest. We just got over the daily reports on Lindsay Lohan, now we have to start over with KO?

not only what century but what state. He was in California a few days ago and, realizing there was still room in him mouth for his other foot, he told us how worried he is that no college in CA teaches US History any more. With 25 state universities, 9 universities of california, 117 private universities, 125 community colleges, it’s reassuring to know how qualified he really is to sit in the Oval office.

No, Mr Santorum, that’s Alaska – remember Sarah?

You know what KT? I think you’re right. How many Repubs were caught in the last couple of years because the store was closed at home? Of course it’s not entirely a right wing sport…a few Dem jackasses played…idiots.

It’s that hiking thing.

Let him keep talking bito. This is the hardest labor he’s ever done. Look at him, completely disheveled, sweating, ranting, panting, arms flailing, getting hoarse, no script, looking and sounding ridiculous.

And then comes President Obama, fluid, moves like Fred Astaire, glides across the stage to the mic, always cool – an elegant man, enjoying the show as much as the rest of us. Reminds me of 2008 debates, with Barack moving close to people while John McC sat watching, seethng, face red – always pissed off…still pissed off.

Believe it or not, Republicans do get sick of their own kind. I know. I’m one of them; working for the President now; worked for him in 2008.

» Posted By BourneID On April 5, 2012 @ 5:05 pm

Hey bito

Haven’t met you yet. I’m not as concerned about what the GOP jackasses call real women. I am concerned about the GOP women who sleep with those pigs.

You gotta wonder…

Hi Cher. I don’t think we’ve met. I’m BourneID, b;antantly stolen from the Bourne trilogy. I fancy myself a top spy.

I read your earlier comment. It’s very easy to be disgusted with we’re seeing. I am a friend of Murph and I’ve expressed to him my concern about the loss of journalistic integrity in all news media. It’s a nightly talent show; no substance; no editing. My great concern, however, is that the “journalists” have one skill: they’re good readers, but where is the critical thinking.

Do you watch Chris Hayes? On Sunday a.m. he had as his guest a scientist (don’t remember his name_ discussing global warming. Chris is very ADHD, gets excited, interrupts, determined to finish what he wants to say. The guest commented that 40% of fundamentalist Christians believe the earth is only 10K old. Then said, “Do you really believe that in a Catholic Mass, the wafer is turned into the body of Christ and the wine becomes his blood?’ Christ is Catholic; he almost swollowed his tongue and went immediately to break. This is not journalism.

Anyway, nice meeting you.

Hi AL

My observation and concern about MSNBC, which apparently most POV’rs watch, is their continuing to serve as Mitt and Rick’s least expensive campaign promoters. If they’d spend 20% of that time on what the President is trying to accomplish, I’d be convinced they’re at least a little left of Genghis Khan. Who are they talking to?

I have a question as the new child on the block. Where will I find information on how to write and present an article for publication? I don’t know the rules. I’m a retired Fed employee and i want to present the actual facts of what the Federal Employee Healthcare Program (FEHP) actually offers. It’s the same healthcare the President and Congress have. Remember that the Prez said he wants all Americans to have the same quality health insurance as Congress. His Plan is modeled after FEHP. My thought is to present my actual coverage, cost, and the recently offered vision and dental plans, the costs of which are deducted from retirement.

With all the junk food we’re being fed about the plan, AL, I’ve not seen anything that actually tells people what it is.

I’ve done research and have some links.

Thanks, AdLib.
