Hi, Fergie – My older daughter can relate to having “summer” for Christmas, she and her husband live in San Diego! She has shown me pictures of palm trees decorated with Christmas lights, it is in the 70’s there! They are coming home on the 20th to visit us for the holidays – we already have four inches of snow. 🙂 She has been there for ten years and still misses a winter season.

We always bring a winter coat for her when we pick her up at the airport – it is much colder here in western PA! We have had lows down to 14 F. I am planning for a ham dinner with scalloped potatoes for Christmas day and have everything for that, still have to do some shopping for gifts yet. – Thinking of you and DH, perhaps I could send an overnight express package of snow that would arrive there in time without melting. 😉 Take care.

Weekend Music Thread – Thankful N’ Thoughtful

Same to you, Fergie! – Doing good, getting ready to bring down the boxes from the attic and put out some Christmas decorations. My younger daughter and her boyfriend will be here soon to help as my husband has to be careful with his back and any heavy lifting. – We will also put up the tree, it’s an artificial one so no dropping pine needles for us. – Later I will take the leftover turkey parts and toss them into my crockpot and make a turkey stock, it simmers for a day then I strain and freeze it for later. And I freeze whatever turkey meat is leftover as well. During the week before Christmas, I make my homemade turkey noodle soup – everyone enjoys a hot cup of homemade soup throughout the holiday. ?
