Kes, moved it over, all cool.

I think you originally responded to my posting of the actual Maher video in the Election thread.

But while I was posting that, it suddenly hit me (and after our conversation last night on Vox Populi about creating videos to hold up O’Donnell to motivate Dems), I came up with the Python scene idea and created a seperate post.

BTW, it leaped to over 300 views on YouTube after posting, won’t be updated again for a while but now also comes up listed third if you type in “Christine O’Donnell” and “witch” so I’ll bet we get a nice total of views on this!

Looks very cool! Will need to test it first to make sure there are no conflicts. If not, I would definitely like to give it a test drive at the site and see if folks like it.

I did notice that when I did a Preview of the post, the page reset to being the right width.

I agree, I would like a more customizable text box, that would solve this issue and just be better over all.

In any case, I’ll upgrade WordPress shortly…cross your fingers!

So this is happening when you’re drafting an article?

I have had funky things happen on my laptop when drafting an article, as opposed to my desktop. The width of the composition box sometimes widens across the full screen.

WordPress has debuted a new 3.0 version of this blog software, I’ve been taking my time updating, I like for revisions to come out first to address initial issues which always come up. Now they’re at 3.0.1 so I will try upgrading shortly, that should hopefully resolve some of the issues in this version.

Sorry about all of the technogeek stuff, it’s a long winded way of saying that the software will be updated shortly and hopefully solve these issues.

Sorry about that Khirad!

I’ve just tested the site on three systems and my iPhone and can’t replicate the issue. Could be that your browser and/or its cache or Java…or something else on your system is acting up.

I would suggest that you clear your browser’s cache then reboot your computer, that would eliminate several of these possibilities.

Please let me know either way if this resolves the issue. If not, I’ll explore some more possibilities on this end.

Yes, I’m here. There must be gremlins at work! Hopefully everything looks right now. I may have to conduct some sitewide maintenance late one evening to make a clean sweep of the potential causes, the site will need to be down during that time.

Weird how computers can be like golden retrievers, reliable and dependable, then suddenly turn into neurotic lap dogs that tear up the couch.

No worries! I prefer your giving me a head’s up. The offending function is either the new “Related Posts” you’ll see at the bottom of each post now, promoting other Planet posts or a Popular Posts function I’ve added.

I’m trying out the Related Posts function for now to see if all is well. If so, I’ll have to jettison the Popular Posts function for the time being.

Thanks MightyWoof! I’ve fixed it now but for some reason (thanks to Kalima’s vigilance!) I’m aware that it has become a bit buggy and spotty in displaying comments.

I’ve added some new features recently which may be conflicting with it. Let’s see how it works from this point forward, if issues continue, I’ll remove the other features and see how that works.

Just to be clear, you need to upload the graphic onto the PlanetPOV server using the button closest to the words “Upload/Insert” (a gray square in a square), as you see in this image:

When you click on the square it brings up this window:

Click on Select Files, choose the image file and it will upload. When it completes uploading, a detailed window appears. Scroll down until you see “Link URL”. Copy that URL, this is the URL you use for the Preview image:

Make sure to copy the full URL, very often the last part of the URL trails out of view, make sure you drag your cursor across the end of the box to highlight it all before copying.

Just remember, you need to upload graphics to our server to use them for Preview images. If you use a link to another site, it won’t work.

Cher, unfortunately the History Channel doesn’t allow for embedding its videos, it can’t be done.

The Google link you clicked on under “Share” at the site is for sharing the link with friends via Google (just as you could with Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

You could replace it with a different video about the history of Passover from YouTube or another site that does allow embedding.

Also, I’ve made some adjustments to get rid of that bug that was messing up on people’s posts (including yours). As far as I know now, it’s been fixed but please let me know if it happens again!

That’s odd, I have tried to replicate this issue and I can’t.

Is it reverting to Speakers Corner as soon as you click Edit on an existing post or after you Update it?

Also, anyone else out there who is finding the same thing happening, please let me know. Thanks!

KQ, the autosaves are listed below under the header, Post Revisions. Click on the one with the date and time you want to revert to. You can even compare different “saves” using that function, once you’ve clicked on one.

Let me know if that works to get you back where you were.
