Time Out for O/T – Vol. 15

I agree with that…how can anyone in this day and age, be so utterly stupid?

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On February 9, 2011 @ 5:41 pm

Oh my good Cher…what an utter doofus. I’m actually embarrassed for him…i knew he wasn’t the sharpest tool, but I honestly didn’t think he was that stupid.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On February 9, 2011 @ 5:39 pm

I’m so happy to hear that Cher….you are probably right it will be another day or two before you are really yourself…

IMPORTANT…TAKE care of yourself…get rest if need be…I know sometimes I forget to do that, too and think I’m better and then suffer a replace.

I’m great at giving advice not so good sometimes at receiving! πŸ™‚

Thank you zoot…Its like Christmas…I’m dancing!

I actually know him personally and I can’t stand HIM…I knew it would be just a matter of time…he’s always been a playboy and his daddy bought him the seat.

It is amazing that he actually was stupid enough to try it…what a moron!

I’m dancing…I’m singing….Oh yeah, oh yeah…oh YEAH!!!!!

When he won the seat, I was sick…seriously he is a typical friggin spoiled brat moron who thinks he is all that…to have HIM as my representative made ME ill.

Oh maybe…just maybe we can get a real rep now!

I’m so excited. Tomorrow really is my Birthday…I just got a great gift!

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On February 9, 2011 @ 4:00 pm

OMG….there IS a god…my prayers have been answered.

Hi Sue, I do remember the story, that’s why I felt it important to post. I was upset at the time, as the friend who asked others to post the story, was familiar with the details and I couldn’t shake the feeling at the time, something wasn’t right.

The friend in question is an amazing lady as is her husband and if they felt something was wrong, I will accept their opinion that something WASN’T right as well.

Co-sign. I saw that on Rachel last night and was very impressed!

The whole family is…first member of the family to make it to the ivy league, strictly on MERIT!

Very tragic. A friend of mine asked to share this story.

Things like what happened in this situation should not be forgotten in our current society.

Good choice…And good point, I thought the list was missing the Punk era completely.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On February 9, 2011 @ 10:07 am

I can’t see it….nope, nada, can’t do it!

I’ve been to Dead shows…no WAY she got the concept!

NO way Ann Coulter is a dead head!

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On February 9, 2011 @ 9:58 am

Thanks for providing the info rather than having to click on.

I’m one who doesn’t want to give them any clicks. I’m that mad about the deletion/moderation thing and the AOL buyout didn’t sit well with me either!

I think the list is pretty good, but I don’t know if I agree with the Beach Boys.

Man Cher, so many great thoughts in your comment.

I agree so much of the argument from the right is phrased in such a way, as to make people feel bad. Not everyone is equipped to know how to make money grow for themselves. IF it was EVERYONE would be rich!

And I think it is unrealistic to expect such is possible for everyone. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the government looking our for the welfare of its people…Isn’t that the governments job?

I don’t have a problem with means testing either. I think the idea has merit.

Thanks for the link. I agree it is a successful program and I like the point you made about perspective. I hadn’t thought of it from that viewpoint before. Makes sense.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On February 8, 2011 @ 3:16 pm

This is a tough one for me. I don’t think the program is under any immediate problems and I believe it’s another diversion.

However, with that being said, I don’t think I agree with either point of view.

I think the first comment is utterly misguided, and lacks a real analysis of WHY people are poor or don’t have adequate resources for their golden years.

I also think Andrew’s comment was missing that component as well.

WE seem to want to only look at the symptoms and not the disease, in all things considered about our economic challenges, including social security or healthcare, or unemployment for that matter.

Until we are honest with ourselves WHY there is such disparity in wealth within our nation, and the world for that matter, we are never going to come to any consensus or alleviation of suffering.

One of my biggest pet peeves and it has been enhanced since I began formally studying economics…is this ridiculous notion that we can paint EVERYONE with a broad brush and can accurately predict any reaction by the masses based on models which simply attempt to assess to the lowest common denominator but at the same time ignore outliers.

Its a major disconnect, in my mind that attempts to use the most simplistic view of human behavior and than apply that to the everyone. Variables exist for a reason and to ignore them or negate their importance is simply being dishonest in my mind.

WHY do most people NOT have the opportunity to amass great wealth and save for their golden years? THAT should be the question…not why we can’t provide for the masses in their golden years. WE are always putting the CART before the horse.

thanks for the tip Cher.

Help Desk

How does one get a picture to post with an article they have written??

Thank you!

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On February 19, 2011 @ 5:48 pm

I volunteer at a local homeless shelter…we too have funding issues. BUT the founders made the commitment that we would always remain volunteer and THUS free from the restrictions imposed by formalizing our institution.

Truly, it is harder that way, BUT the freedoms enjoyed and the ability to REALLY make a difference are BECAUSE they don’t become an “institution” and “formalized”.

As such it is a work of love and not a something it was never meant to be.

Adlib, I so enjoy the site, I can live with it…:)

But I wish I could make it so that we didn’t have to worry about the ‘technical issues’.

When I started my company we had to upgrade our servers so often, because as we grew we realized we didn’t have the proper equipment. I was SO lucky, as I had deep pockets from my investors….BUT there was a downside to those deep pockets…if you know what I mean! πŸ™‚

I would rather have technical issues and the ability to have the freedom we have here…than have to deal with those ‘other issues’.

The ideals must remain!! πŸ™‚

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On February 17, 2011 @ 11:56 pm

AdLib, I truly WISH I had the money to send you a HUGE (I mean GIGANTIC) donation…one which would give us the opportunity to NOT have these issues. πŸ™‚

I think I am going to start lobbying some friends for donations for this site. I like it here and want us to be able to provide what we need. I really wish I had the funds MYSELF to make it happen!

Thanks for all you do! πŸ™‚

Thanks Bito. I’m done, I just noticed a typo I wanted to fix! πŸ™‚

OH!!!

I like the thumbs up thing…I just think some sort of recognition is nice for those who take the time to post something is a good idea. While users might not feel the need to post a comment, a quick click to let someone know their ideas were appreciated seems like a good idea.

It’s nice to know there is a quick and easy way to give a high five.

Thanks for the info.
