Time Out for O/T – Vol. 15

Obviously you are not familiar with domestic violence…people in domestic violence situations ARE victims, but they still support their abusers.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 7:09 pm

Not really..we came MUCH closer than people actually know to ruin many times in our past.

Unfortunately MOST AMERICANS don’t study the REAL history and are indoctrinated to believe the ‘American’ myths.

Going to College, DOES HAVE it’s merits.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 7:07 pm

REALLY? DO you honestly believe that the hoi polloi who are too SELF CENTERED and IGNORANT to understand just how wealthy the WEALTHY in this nation really ARE…aren’t victims?

Sorry Adonai, but that is naive.

Fox…I lost my restraint…see newer posts. 🙂

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 7:03 pm

Honestly so did I, but it wasn’t politically correct to actually say so! 🙂

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 7:02 pm

WHICH is why…our country is fucked and is doomed to become a plutocracy. PEOPLE in this country are too stupid, and WAY too self centered.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 7:01 pm

SO is it official…can WE now CALL America a banana republic?

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 6:58 pm

Machiavelli’s motives could be debated…but I’ll leave it at that.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 6:47 pm

THEY are ALWAYS under oath.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 6:46 pm

While that is true…when a representative who MADE an oath to his constituents lies IT IS PERJURY.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 6:44 pm

Indeed Kesmarn…he’s on fire. He’s angry and that is real anger.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 6:43 pm

WOULD you hire a doctor who had no medical training? Or a plumber who didn’t understand plumbing? Or an electrician who has never taken a electrical course? SO why would you trust LEADERSHIP and governance to assholes who have NO credentials what so ever in any of the necessary disciplines required to adequately govern in the 21st century?

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 6:33 pm

AS it should!

People without knowledge of law and our political system as well as MACROECONOMICS have NO place in governance. AND the founders were of the same mind. THEY never meant for this country to be led by illiterate, uneducated boobs.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 6:31 pm

Did you see the video of what transpired tonight?

Also, Walker HAS lied numerous times regarding this issue….remember the Koch/ Beast tape?

Lying is lying…regardless of the forum.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 6:29 pm

Sorry A…lying And using Machiavellian tactics to get your way is completely and utterly unethical and without ANY positives in the long run.

The ends don’t justify the means.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 6:24 pm

AND perjury (ie lying) IS illegal.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 6:22 pm

The AG of Wisconsin disagrees with the legality.

REMEMBER what I said about people being in office who don’t have the proper credentials?

KNOWING the law is paramount to being ABLE to know how to legislate. THOSE who don’t understand LAW have no place in governance. SORRY.

BUT A, people who TRULY don’t understand their STATE Constitution or the US Constitution and WHO don’t understand the NUANCES of law have no business running for office.

I’m with that too

I think I would have to judge the individual INDIVIDUALLY, rather than on some abstract ideal.

While I may be more prone to vote for someone who is well educated over one how is obviously NOT…I think it would depend on how the individual presented themselves and their ideas.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 9, 2011 @ 5:00 pm

I’m SO liking THIS story. While social media is a ‘new concept’ bitching about one’s company or boss…isn’t. JUST because someone bitches on line ( and probably the same things they would say in the REAL world) doesn’t mean they should lose their job.

SOME bosses ARE assholes and SOME companies DO suck…saying it and stating the obvious should NOT be grounds for dismissal…for goodness sake how many EMPLOYERS say less than flattering comments behind the backs of THEIR employees?

IF, as a nation, we TRULY believe in free market concepts…THEN we should acknowledge PUBLICLY and LOUDLY that the concept of employment is supposed to BE a contract between TWO entities that EACH, are receiving a benefit from the other. AS you may ALL remember, I recently posted a thread on the topic of ‘at will employment and the concepts BEHIND that idea. EMPLOYERS are NOT buying employees THUS they have NO right, legally or ethically to enforce ideals that impose THEIR own ideals on their EMPLOYEES.

Damn…thanks to ADLIB…I’m in a lovely dovey, romantic, sappy mood.

NOW, I’m thinking of ALL the sappy love songs of the past 50 plus years…and because of my technical issues, I can’t post love songs!

Let’s just say…you are ALL lucky! As I would be posting some real serious stuff if I could! 🙂

I don’t completely disagree with your comment, BUT I think politicians SHOULD be educated. They deal with law, political science, economics, sociology and other complex ideas. I don’t think representatives should be less educated then their constituents. I for one, will not consider a candidate for office, who I consider less intelligent than I…I’m funny that way…I want LEADERS to know MORE than me!

I know that sounds somewhat elitist…but truly it isn’t. I DO know some wonderful people who are have very successful lives who didn’t formally educate…BUT the difference between them and the teaparty variety…is they were SELF TAUGHT…they read, traveled, discussed ideas and LEARNED. Fantastic.

I also know many with college educations who are less than astute. I couldn’t agree more, with that concept. BUT on the whole, usually, one with a formal education or a documented resume of REAL accomplishments or even those who have LIVED a full life and have learned life lessons that can be articulated and communicated, SHOW and possess the ability to learn and to be wise.

Those in the tea party and many of their brethren in the GOP, showcase NONE of the above traits, credentials or abilities. MOST are charlatans. Glenn Beck (college drop out after 1 class) Rush Limbaugh (college drop out after i semester). Sarah Palin…6 colleges, some of dubious distinction and still can’t put a sentence together, even though she received a BA in communications. Walker (college drop out with bad grades and academic scandal). George W. Bush…(legacy admission C student). These people have credentials that are less than stellar. Jan Brewer…(does she have a college degree or a diploma mill 2 year degree?) I wouldn’t hire ANY of them based on their resumes to be a receptionist…so why are these people in positions of power?

BTW…Where I live a good education, especially 20 years ago, could be had from the SUNY system for state residents for $750 a semester…hardly, even then, cost prohibitive or reserved only for the elite. Today that same education is under $2500 a semester. While much more expensive then it was 20 years ago, still hardly an economic deterrent, especially with PELL, TAP and low interest student loans.

So education, is not necessarily expensive to attain. Also, one can usually tell from how people communicate if they are innately intelligent and/or if they are formally educated.

The teaparty and GOP candidates come off as idiots. PERIOD.
