Time Out for O/T – Vol. 15

Thank you BDM….It’s cold and miserable out AGAIN, as such the walk thing, probably won’t do any good. πŸ™ My DOG would probably like a walk, too, but SHE is just going to have to wait until WE have sunshine and clear skies!

UGH…I’m SO tired of this dreary weather. πŸ™

I will try Adlib’s suggestion!

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 22, 2011 @ 5:05 pm

NOT very close.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 22, 2011 @ 5:03 pm

Thanks Adlib…I’ll try it! I could really use something to make me smile! πŸ™‚

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 22, 2011 @ 5:02 pm

I WISH I could use THAT method! πŸ™‚

But alas, not an option….I’m a customs broker and involved in international trade, USING anything that can show up on a drug test, is out of the question. HENCE, I am regulated to using the WORST drug of all…alcohol. It doesn’t even help! πŸ™‚

Maybe it is just me, but I’ve been in a vile mood for days now. I think it is a combination of things; such as the absolutely miserable weather and lack of Vitamin D, the horrific politic climate and bad news that seems to be coming from all sectors AND an asshole significant other…combine them all and I’m miserable. I haven’t even been enjoying the usual banter here…anyone have any suggestions for how to get out of such a foul mood?

Kilgore….that was REALLY REALLY disturbing. PLEASE tell me those people are too lazy to vote. OH my friggin goodness gracious….they are ALL dumber than she is! Oh GOD help us!

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 20, 2011 @ 3:45 pm

Thanks Kilgore for providing your perspective.
I was thinking along those lines as well.

AT this point I want to know who those puppet masters are….Koch brothers maybe, and maybe others. I want to know who is really pulling the strings.

Thanks Cher, as far as Netanyahu, that does make sense. But India? WHAT does she know about India? It was all just very peculiar to me.

She really isn’t a viable candidate and quite honestly, her meeting with and talking TO leaders around the world, is rather concerning…as she is a moron!

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 20, 2011 @ 1:01 pm

I can see that! Perfect symbol!

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 20, 2011 @ 12:21 pm

Patsy, maybe that is it…but I’m getting rather cynical and suspicious these days.

Her books will sell to the dimwitted, without her having to go to Israel and meet with him. OR without her having to go to India.

Her followers and readers of her ‘books’ don’t even know where India and Israel even are, nor do they care..so what possible benefit would there be to her going around the world, to HER base?

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 20, 2011 @ 12:00 pm

BUT why is she meeting with Netanyahu?

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 20, 2011 @ 11:32 am

Hi Fox! It was partly rhetorical and partly a real question to get others opinions on why this loon is being foisted upon us.

I do think there is something to what you said, MOST definitely. She is a distraction AND a media/marketing ploy.

BUT I am wondering if there is more to it…something is really fishy about her and her getting access to world leaders. WHO is getting her in to see Netanyahu? WHO is behind her speaking engagement in India? AND WHY are they pushing her into the world stage?

I can’t completely figure out WHAT the agenda is.

Hello everyone.

Can someone please explain to me WHY Palin is embarking on a world tour? AND WHY people still think SHE is a contender for the 2012 presidential race?

There is something VERY fishy about the whole Sarah Palin thing…and it gets worse everyday. MOST people DESPISE her. While she does have a small contingent of nitwits who love her, thankfully, they are in the minority.

SO why is the media and others pushing her on us? The more they do, the more people end up hating her.

WHAT is the deal here with her? Any guesses?

Excellent read. This author’s analysis…and perspective, seems spot on in my opinion.

Evidently what is ‘old’ is new again.

Excellent idea JKK. I think they DESERVE some serious stress..maybe even worrying about losing their heads. WE don’t have to REALLY do it, just let them THINK we will. It seems to work for the French.

{face palm} HOW do these ridiculous concepts even gain merit in an organization?

Those ‘unrealistic expectations’ as well as the micromanaging of even the most simplistic things, is NOT the way to a successful company.

What the hell is going on these days? It’s like the lunatics are running the asylum! I’m seriously thinking of becoming a hermit!

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 16, 2011 @ 12:02 pm

No kidding. They aren’t even TRYING to hide it! I’m utterly perplexed.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 16, 2011 @ 11:59 am

I’m thinking there are only about 400 people who AREN’T stressed out these days!

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 16, 2011 @ 11:56 am

Sadly….{sigh} πŸ™

OH now HERE is a shocking article (HOW is this NEWS? BY definition isn’t NEWS something NEW????)

http://lifeinc.today.com/_news/2011/03/16/6281888-yep-were-pretty-stressed-out

ok around your office: Chances are at least one in three of your co-workers is stressed out.

An American Psychological Association survey released earlier this month found that 36 percent of workers regularly experience stress at work.

Money was a big stress factor, with nearly half of those surveyed saying a low salary has a big impact on their work stress.

Other common reasons included lack of opportunities to advance, a heavy workload, unrealistic job expectations and long hours.

It’s no secret that the recession and its aftermath have forced many Americans lucky enough to have a job to work harder, in some cases for less pay. Now that the economy is improving and the job market is loosening up a bit, some workers may feel like they have had enough.

About one-third of those surveyed said they intend to find a new job within the next year.

The study of about 1,500 U.S. workers was conducted by Harris Interactive in January and February.

I figured we all could use a little levity…and THIS story really provides some REAL nuttiness to discuss. If we all REALLY put our minds to it, I am sure we could make some GREAT jokes on this one!

Did you hear the one about the New York mom who sued the preschool for not preparing her kid for the Ivy League?

Sadly, folks, this isn’t a joke.

Photodisc / Getty Images

Cute, but will it impress the Harvard admissions committee?

There is, for reals, a mom (the plaintiff, Nicole Imprescia of Manhattan) and a school (the defendant, York Avenue Preschool) and a lawsuit (plaintiff suing defendant for a refund of the $19,000/year tuition she paid).

The New York Daily News first reported about Imprescia’s beef. She claims the school jeopardized her 4-year-old daughter Lucia’s chances of getting into an elite private school (by not preparing her for the admissions exam you have to take to get into top notch/top dollar elementary schools in the city) and, therefore – wait for it, wait for it – ruined her chances of being a future Ivy Leaguer.

{Sigh} what is wrong with people????????????????????????

Well isn’t that just lovely. I keep saying…new age of Feudalism.

Servitude, what a novel concept. I think that whole thing was tried before. Didn’t work out to well.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 16, 2011 @ 11:36 am

And the answer is SO easy to arrive at…NO, they aren’t.

» Posted By Abbyrose86 On March 16, 2011 @ 6:54 am

Great idea. I like that Misfortune 500…perfect!

The powers that be, have done a FANTASTIC job at pitting the hoi polloi against each other, as they all scramble for the few crumbs the masters have dropped on the floor.

I so HOPE that one day, the hoi polloi wakes up and realizes, that TOGETHER, THEY have WAY more power than the masters AND that the EARTH provides plenty for EVERYONE, but that the masters are controlling them and the resources for THEIR own purposes and that the hoi polloi have just as much rights to the resources of the Earth as the masters do.

If the hoi polloi would just STOP fighting amongst themselves and stop listening to the masters, the world would be a much better place for everyone.
