@2CCP…our systems are a mess and our nation is seriously ill.

The GOP is right, our nation is broke…but not in terms of money…but in terms of ethics and decency. I submit, our nation is morally bankrupt. As such I’m beginning to doubt it CAN be saved. Day after day, lie after lie, another person, another human being suffers at the hands of our ‘systems’ and the greedy, narcissists who we have placed in charge. n

Children in the inner city, lacking quality education, caring teachers, access to appropriate nutrition. The poor, infirm and elderly having to CHOOSE between necessary medication or food OR lacking access all together.

THIS is a CIVILIZED society?? NO this is a disgusting social experiment that has gone completely awry! WE have serious problems in this nation, as your story so eloquently showed.

Those nurses and doctors of that ‘clinic’ should be ashamed of themselves, but sadly they will feel no remorse for their behavior and will justify that ‘those people’ brought it upon themselves.

People like that is WHY I don’t think this nation CAN be saved. THERE are more people like that here than I like to admit. THEY ‘look’ like decent human beings and pretend to be decent human beings but they are really assholes…they just fake being anything else. YOU can tell (if one really tries)who is genuine and who is faking it…Sadly MORE and more fake decency.

I know a woman, who for the longest time, everyone THOUGHT was a nice lady. She did APPEAR to be nice. Always with a smile and a kind word…TO YOUR FACE. SHE eventually let her true colors show…and the truth is, she is a self centered narcissist…I might even go so far as to say she is a sociopath. YET for 20 years (most people) thought she was a nice person. There were a few who saw through her. SHE too works in a capacity which would lead others to BELIEVE she is something she isn’t. SHE likes the power she has over others, and doesn’t really care about anyone but herself. Her altruism is FAKED to make people THINK she is a good person.

I’ve found this happens more often than we all like to admit.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I am so sick and tired of what passes for political discourse in our nation. In addition, I am sick and tired of all the LIES!

Can someone teach me how to just make shit up and lie through my teeth without a hint of conscience?

I would love to know how they all do it, seriously! I just don’t get it. Day after day, lie after lie after lie and we try to circumvent the lies but to no avail…there is always a large group of vocal nimrods who will believe the lies without question, and thus bring the rest of us down with them!

Sorry…I’m ranting again. But that was because I am just so tired of all the friggin lying!

@Sabreen. I’m so sorry. You are right you never get over it…and some days, it hurts more than others.

I couldn’t agree more, those who’s parent’s are still with them…are so fortunate.

These sad days happen….I haven’t had one like this in awhile. Thank you, for understanding.

For some reason, I’m in a really sentimental mood today….and am missing my parents badly. My mom died 21 (almost 22 years ago) and my Dad left us just about 9 years ago.

I was just 20 when I found out my mother was terminal, she had been sick for quite some time by this point. My father, died in my arms just after I turned 34. I’m grateful I had them that long. Some lose their parents at much earlier ages and for others they are blessed with being a child (in the minds of their parents…anyway) for much longer. Others aren’t fortunate enough to have been born to parents who are prepared to BE parents and suffer as a result.

I was a menopause baby. As a result, I ALWAYS knew I wouldn’t have my parents long. They were quite old, by the standards of the day, when I came into the world, and my siblings were quite a bit older than I. It was a blessing and a curse. It was a blessing, as I grew up with the best of both worlds. I was an only child with brothers and sisters. I was given so many gifts from ALL of them; gifts of their combined experiences. I had many ‘parental’ figures who tried to impose their combined lessons on to me. I was also fortunate to have become an aunt at a young age, and as such was given the gift of loving and taking care of so many little ones, when I was just a child myself.

I have JUST reached the age my mother WAS, when she found out she was going to have ME…and 2 years ago, I hit a mile stone, I had lived longer on this Earth without a mother than I had one.

I think too often, many of us, take what WE have for granted. WE assume our loved ones will always be there…until one day they aren’t. WE assume we will always have what we ALWAYS had, until we don’t.

Today, I am missing my parents very much. But I am grateful for they family the game me. To Zophia (Sally) and Gene…thank you. I love you and miss you both.

Catching up and re-reading about Geraldine Ferraro’s time in the political arena, REALLY made me think.

WE as a society are so messed up! WE have such unrealistic expectations of those who run for public office. For goodness sake, I remember reading, not too long ago, that if FDR were to run today, he would NEVER stand a chance.

WE need to get some reality and proper perspective into our political discourse.

There are many great people, who won’t consider a run for public office, because of the turmoil it places on their loved ones and upon themselves. At the same time, there are those without shame, who have nothing positive to offer, who run without consideration of ANYTHING…including their own credentials, because they are so full of themselves and narcissistic in their own assessments of themselves that they FEEL they know more than they do and are better than they are.

Whereas, those who TRULY could offer something of substance are very MUCH aware of their own failings and KNOW they can’t deal with the turmoil our current political landscape foists upon them.

WE have to grow up as a nation, and a people and start assessing our public officials more realistically and without adolescent expectations!

REAL people, have REAL problems and more than likely have made mistakes. THAT should be ok. REAL people have friends/family and others in their lives aren’t perfect. THAT too should be ok. AT the same time, we should judge our potential representatives on their ACTUAL abilities, credentials and potential…rather than on their sex lives or the mistakes made by their loved ones.

WE really need to stop this bullshit of judging people on the wrong criteria.

Every time, such topics arise, I am reminded of this little exercise…it’s amazing how inaccurately and with the wrong information, that WE judge our leaders.

I truly wish I didn’t ‘need’ their products. Trust me…if I could I WOULD go find another competitor.

However, since I am ‘forced’ under duress to buy their less than quality product…I feel no guilt what so ever at getting their junk at the lowest price possible. Actually it makes me smile. I will use every available avenue to buy the junk that the Corporations foist upon me…at the absolute lowest price possible. I’m on to their game and if I can I will not play it. If I have to…they aren’t going to make an ridiculous profit on MY consumership.

I NEVER EVER buy anything unless on a discount. AND I will hold out for the lowest price possible, without going to their friendly retailers either.

They have NOTHING I need THAT bad that I would pay anything above WHAT I DEEM acceptable…and I don’t deem MUCH acceptable. 🙂

No doubt KQuark. It’s not exactly what I would call a legitimate racket.

Microsoft in my mind is not my example of a ‘good’ business practice,…..but unfortunately WE are stuck with them….so long as so many continue to make their services ‘necessary’. As a result…I’m VERY happy to be able to buy their products at the LOWEST price possible! If I had to buy their product at market rates…I wouldn’t. THEIR products aren’t even that good. {sigh}

Well IF SOME people actually had a conscience and CARED about those less fortunate then themselves…this sort of thing…MIGHT make them feel guilty. Sadly the people we are talking about have NO conscience nor empathy for others as such any concept that tries to appeal to their sense of decency is futile.

WE need to appeal to their sense of wanting to keep their heads attached to their bodies…as they only seem to understand self preservation.

Bill, I know that many found the previous video difficult to handle for various reasons. I followed the thread, although I didn’t watch the previous video or take part in the discussion.

I used to be very involved in my religion, until, I personally encountered the hypocrisy inherent within in and then went out to search out others and found the same problems.

The organizational structure of MOST religions is such that it lends itself to ‘group think’ and lack of questioning of its tenets. FOR me, personally, that was a turn off and actually led to my abandonment of my ‘faith’ and all that went with its teachings.

Since leaving and embarking on my own quest, I have found I have very different beliefs than those I was born into and indoctrinated to accept without question.

In addition, I no longer accept organized religions for the most part, however that does not mean, I’ve denied the existence of spirituality. While I have seen some positives come from the organization of religious beliefs, sadly, I’ve encountered more negative ones. As such, I am not interested in ANY organized belief system.

But that is me, I realize for others that feeling of belonging to something larger than oneself and that provides comfort in making sense of the many things in life that don’t make sense, is necessary and comforting.

We all have different perspectives and take to heart different concepts differently.

I take no offense to your posts nor your ideals. At the same time, I understand the feelings of others who may have found it ‘off putting’.

Personally, I appreciated the opportunity to read and discuss the issue. As I think it is an important one, that is often neglected, since it is so emotionally charged.
