Damn….I have but one complaint…I’m having too much fun the last couple of days! I’m finding myself staying too long!

At least at the other site, Trolls and moderation would annoy me and I would leave for hours at a time. Here, I keep finding stuff to talk about!!!

I was thinking about this the other day, for some ridiculous reason, there is idea out there, that what private business does is ALWAYS beyond reproach.

TO that I say bullhockey!

I’ve seen many ridiculous things, policies, and ideas come out of corporate boardrooms!

I didn’t get an email when I closed mine. I even sent them an email explaining why I left. I did not leave due to the merger though, I left the day before because of the moderation and deletion issue.

But I didn’t receive anything from them.

I couldn’t agree more Kilgore…money is a necessity of life…but to make it your life seems rather messed up to me.

There is so much more to life and without the arts, philosophy, fun, nature, etc…where is the quality of life?

In my mind life would not be worth living without appreciation of all the good things that life has to offer.

I left Sunday before any announcement was made, it was over the same issue…the extreme moderation. I just hit my breaking point Sunday afternoon and just felt I had to leave and delete myself.

Thanks for the info AdLib…that was what I was trying to do when I started at HP…become involved in our systems and be part of making a difference.

I was going through a real change, when I stumbled upon HP….and at first it did provide some of what I needed, and honestly I did learn so much from so many people over there. OH my goodness, it was a great education, that the many diverse posters supplied.

I didn’t know about GROW…that sounds like something I had been looking for.

What gets me is that so many seem content with the status quo and don’t seem to realize, those of us who are complaining or voicing dissent, just want to see our nation be what it really COULD be and really SHOULD be…we see opportunity for improvement where they don’t even realize it could be improved.

Exactly Nora…it was like a train wreck! I would go there with all the best intentions of getting ideas and discussing relevant events…next thing you know…I’m mired in a ridiculous pissing match about Sarah Palin or another such tool.

I would find myself getting so worked up that I forgot the purpose of my visit. 🙂

Hmmm….could be. I remember reading not to long ago about HP’s financial issues. I don’t remember where I read it. Interesting little side news…in our local paper this morning, was an article about one of her local investors who really made out from this deal.

The more I think about this and my decision to leave Huffington Post, the more I think, in the long run, this will be a positive; not just for myself but for the others who are leaving.

I think HP became a habit (at least for me it did) a lazy habit. As such I didn’t go out and seek enough other sources of information as much as I should have NOR did I seek out more differing opinions and ideas, as I had become SO accustomed to the shenanigans over there, that I wasn’t getting a wide enough view of things. I got sucked in to the game playing and forgot, for myself, why I started blogging and visiting political sites.

I hope that what is going on over there will lead to some new REAL competition for HP…it might take awhile, for other sites to start really ramping up, but I think, in the long run, there will be more real competition and more opportunities for other sites (AHEM…such as this one) to grow and gather more loyal users.

I’m really thinking this will end up being a great thing for individuals and organizations to REALLY step up and get back in the REAL game!
