Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then!
AdLib3 hours ago
Hey TW! Looks like Trump is indicted in August in GA!
AdLiban hour ago
Hey Ad lots to cover tonight.
twilson117
No kidding! That seemes to be the case every week nowadays!
AdLiban hour ago
I read the law suit against Rudy, man what a utterly disgusting degenerate
twilson117
Now I know I should’ve picked August for Trump’s first 1/6 indictment. I coulda been rich!
AdLiban hour ago
Yeah he is going to have a fun summer that’s for sure.
twilson117
I didn’t read the whole suit, I plan to. What I know already is nauseating but not surprising, Guiliani looks like a demented man and the suit confirmed it.
AdLiban hour ago
I think they’ve said Jack Smith was looking at the same time to indict Trump for the documents case. Around Auguse I heard. What a 1-2 punch that would be!
AdLiban hour ago
Let me tell it gets worse. And what makes it really bad, these four words this conversation was recorded.
twilson117
And he has to be close on indicting Trump and others for the 1/6 conspiracy to overthrow the election. Meanwhile, loser after loser Repub keeps stumbling into the primary.
AdLiban hour ago
Trump will get hit with a state charge and federal charge
twilson117
I believe he is. Based on all the reporting it sounds like dotting i’s crossing t’s
twilson117
Recorded conversations, emails between him and all the Trump team and texts. Giuliani is going down hard, prison time can’t be escaped IMO.
AdLiban hour ago
Yes, around August, both Willis and Smith should be indicting him. Maybe the same month. “Witch hunt! Wait…I am a witch and they caught me?”
AdLiban hour ago
Rudy’s law license was suspended in New York and DC now it will be revoked for sure.
twilson117
Rudy openly admits he and Trump were selling pardons for 2million.
twilson117
I think Rudy is toast. And who else will be caught up in the likely RICO suit in GA? Could be Mark Meadows, Repub leadership in GA, Trump’s lawyers, maybe even Lindsey Graham!
AdLiban hour ago
Trump had to be having a total meltdown over the Rudy bit.
twilson117
Yes, just hoping that they have some financial records to confirm the selling of pardons did indeed happen. Not that attempted extortion isn’t a crime but hope Trump and Rudy can be caught red-handed.
AdLiban hour ago
Yep I think all of them Medows the lawyer he came up with the phony electors idea, and a host of others.
twilson117
Trump is deluded, I wouldn’t be surprised if he thinks that if he can win the election he can pardon himself, end all prosecutions and escape justice, even in states somehow (maybe using the National Guard to protect him from any state coming for him).
AdLiban hour ago
Hey CL!
AdLiban hour ago
Evening Ad and TW. How are you?
choicelady
There will a ton of stories coming out over the summer, it will be a summer fest of a Trump dump
twilson117
CL is in the house.
twilson117
CL – Disappointed I didn’t pick August in the Trump indictment pool.
AdLiban hour ago
Cl doing fine for an old man.
twilson117
Ad – I didn’t even GET in the pool. Why is August your pick?
choicelady
I don’t remember did I pick Aug for Trump and June for Santos?
twilson117
Trump will be destroyed this Summer, just before the GOP primary heats up, with the majority of voters. But the MAGA cult will march with him right off the cliff with the rest of the GOP.
AdLiban hour ago
TW – bet I’m an older woman than you are man. I’m a “leading” Boomer. Calculate it from there.
choicelady
Ad – from YOUR lips to God’s ear that MAGA will follow him off the cliff.
choicelady
Ad for most people that would be devastating but for Trump he will keep going
twilson117
CL – Fani Willis informed the GA judges not to schedule hearings during the first part of August and notified law enforcement to prepare for that period for serious deployment.
AdLiban hour ago
CL I learned a long time ago you never ever ask or talk about a lady’s age. Not if you value your life.
twilson117
TW – I think you might have picked August for Smith’s indictment(s) of Trump and that’s looking good.
AdLiban hour ago
Ooooo – did not read that yet. Good on Fanni Willis.
choicelady
“Georgia Prosecutor Signals August Timetable for Charges in Trump Inquiry”
AdLiban hour ago
All the indictments are fine. But yes, I want the DOJ soon please.
choicelady
CL – We were just discussing that August is also a ballpark time that Jack Smith is expected to indict Trump for the DoJ. Late Summer should be explosive and Trump will be the one stepping on the landmine.
AdLiban hour ago
CL did you read the solacious suit against Rudy? He is in big trouble with that along with being indicted with Trump and Co.
twilson117
I either become a court junky or die. Personally, on behalf of a woman w an autistic kid who was taken from her, I have been in Placer County, Dallas County TX, and am headed to the CA Eastern District of the US courts all on her behalf.
choicelady
Rudy’s going to be indicted in GA too I’d think.
AdLiban hour ago
Ad – Marj can come counsel Rudy on RW cristofascism while he’s in GA prison.
choicelady
CL you are really busy hope it’s going well for you.
twilson117
CL – You are a hero! You’ve been fighting so hard to help reunite that child with his mother. Just incredible!
AdLiban hour ago
TW – No, it’s not going well, but it soon should be. The law is an ass. Especially CPS and some family court law. I hope, finally, she wins.
choicelady
CL MTG is… I’m just going to leave that alone.
twilson117
CL – Poor Santos is going to be so jealous when everyone’s talking about Trump’s prosecutions while he’s being prosecuted. “No fair! I was POTUS too!”
AdLiban hour ago
CL she has you fighting for her she is in good hands.
twilson117
Ad – FOUR years, and every time she turns around someone is stiffing her and her right to be with her son. Not on principle – on greed and unprofessional behavior. We are suing her CA attorney, her TX attorney, the reuinification therapis who did nothing to reunify, and probably the evaluator ALL of whom took money and did NOTHING.
choicelady
TW – I now have two retired attorneys also helping. I have good friends.
choicelady
And how about the RW including MTG and DeSantis cheering on the murderer of Jordan Neely for yelling on a subway that he was hungry? No different than applauding the execution of the mentally ill.
AdLiban hour ago
CL like I said she is in good hands.
twilson117
AD – that is the ONLY thing Santos hasn’t yet claimed, and I think it’s just a matter of time. Perfect call
choicelady
CL – That is disgusting. Such exploitation of a heartbreaking situation for a vulnerable mother and her son. I’m angry.
AdLib44 minutes ago
Ad cristofascists reject all of Jesus’ teaching on compassion for those in need and pain. They embrace Dominionism that worships power and money. That’s their god.
choicelady
CL amen to that.
twilson117
Ad – we started totting up the civil rights violations in just the Placer case – and they are overwhelming.
choicelady
CL – I expect Santos to soon declare that he is the judge in charge of his criminal case and has thrown out the case, finding himself 100% absolutely not guilty.
AdLib43 minutes ago
Ad Santos is stupid but not that stupid, but there is always a first time for everything.
twilson117
CL – So true. And control is their religion, stomping down “the others” and dominating the choices of everyone else who they see as threats and enemies.
AdLib41 minutes ago
CL – Will she sue those in Placer and elsewhere for depriving her of her civil rights and other damages to her and her son? WIll her lawyers take that on?
AdLib40 minutes ago
TW -to radically change the subject, please forgive me for not remembering if I told you my brother lives NW of Rutland. I know Shrewsbury from some conservation work there and the now defunct Vinny Testeverde’s restaurant that was a mainstay when my mother was dying at MGH in wherever it was near Worcester. Every time I see your avatar I smile both for you and for the love of Shrewsbury.
choicelady
CL, I have to figure out how to work cristofascists into this article I writing on Tuckums.
twilson117
Ad – We are suing Placer CPS, Placer Juvenile Court, and Placer County Counsel. Asking to vacate the custody order and award her $20 MILLION to keep Enzo for the whole of his life.
choicelady
TW – you will find a way. That’s who they are.
choicelady
TW – This is Santos from yesterday. He is pretty much a total idiot and fool.
AdLib38 minutes ago
choicelady
CL I remember Vinny Testeverde’s been there once or twice.
twilson117
CL – That is fantastic news! Such a travesty shouldn’t be allowed to be buried and this woman and her child deserve serious compensation to try and address the damage that’s been done to them.
AdLib36 minutes ago
CL – Fortunately, many of the Repub frauds and fascists are total morons.
AdLib36 minutes ago
Ad, he is totally lying he cannot chew and walk at the same time.
twilson117
It was a wonderful place, excellent food, not very expensive. Gone now. Sigh.
choicelady
CL that has happen to a lot of places.
twilson117
TW – I believe Santos. Walking gum is just like toilet paper on Trump’s shoe. It’s their skill set.
choicelady
So word is that Biden is telling Progressive Dems that he will not look to the 14th Amendment to avoid a debt ceiling disaster. WTH? No smart negotiator takes anything off the table when the stakes are so high. And if Biden agrees to work rules for social programs, a lot of voters are going to drift away from voting in 2024. What do both of you think Biden will do if the Repubs refuse to raise the debt ceiling?
AdLib33 minutes ago
CL I got nothing to say to that.
twilson117
We knew Tatnuck Square books in the square then in the Machine Shop (glorious), but now it’s just…a bookstore. Glad it survives, but it was so much more cool back in the day.
choicelady
TW – I think Santos can walk gum, I think he’s lying about being able to chew.
AdLib32 minutes ago
Ad – I will call on the chew part, too.
choicelady
Santos chewing and walking gum:
AdLib30 minutes ago
I hope others show up soon. Today has been “federal law all day, all time”, and I’m absolutely worn out. Love you both to pieces, but I’m fading. This legal stuff is driving me nuts.
choicelady
CL I used to go to Tanuck Square books all the time. Loved the place. The moved to Westboro and their selection is much smaller.
twilson117
Ad – how’d you get Santos so clearly present in the chew/walk moment.
choicelady
Ad that’s priceless. Just need to replace the guy with Santos that would be great.
twilson117
CL – I can only imagine how draining it is on you. I’m exhausted just thinking about all you’ve had to deal with on all of this over four years.
AdLib29 minutes ago
Santos also may claim that he can chew two things at the same climb.
AdLib28 minutes ago
Hope all is well with Murph.
AdLib28 minutes ago
CL you’ve doing a lot of traveling so you need to take care of yourself.
twilson117
TW – that’s sad. When they were in the old machine shop, the cafe was my father’s fave place. His literally LAST meal was from there. He had Parkinsons’s and that night as I fed him his fave salad from Tatnuck, I realized he could no longer swallow. That’s the kiss of death in Parkinsons. But he loved every bite even as I took the unswallowed part from him and added new. Tatnuck gave him LITERALLY his last pleasure. He died 2 weeks later.
choicelady
CL Wow.
twilson117
So if Trump is indicted in August/September by Willis and Smith, when would the trials be? Would they pause them if it’s near election time? What a disaster that would and could be.
AdLib27 minutes ago
TW – I’m not physically anywhere but Sacramento. That’s the lovely pleasure of electronic everything. Phone, email, online filing – you can be in multiple places at once and still live in your jammies.
choicelady
CL – I’m glad he got to enjoy his favorite salad from Tatnuck but I know that had to be so difficult for you.
AdLib26 minutes ago
CL in their new location they only have very small place where they offer food. And it’s not that great.
twilson117
CL technology at its best.
twilson117
Ad – I have no idea what the trials will be. USUALLY, in my experience, state comes first, but the indictments federally will be killers for him and any chance to ever run again. So they might trump (cough) state stuff.
choicelady
CL – In legal proceedings on Zoom, they can’t see if you’re wearing pajama bottoms.
AdLib24 minutes ago
Ad and TW – It is a cherished memory EVEN as it’s a sad one. My dad was a truly great person. Knowing he had that pleasure eases his loss. But yes, it’s sad. And I’m REALLY sorry to hear they have gone downhill as a business.
choicelady
CL – The state charges will be as powerful as the federal though, I’ll bet it’s a RICO case on trying to overthrow the GA election, can’t imagine Jack Smith wanting her to stand down against the obstructing justice documents case against Trump or even the 1/6 conspiracy. My concern is the time fram for such serious cases, don’t know how they could be concluded before Nov 2024.
AdLib22 minutes ago
CL – I’m glad there’s a lot of happiness to that memory too. Knowing that he had what he enjoyed is a gift.
AdLib21 minutes ago
Ad – in the one Zoom I’ve had to do, I actually dressed professionally so I could eviscerate one of the attorneys I hired who caused this fresh hell. We had a CA Bar arbitration, and it went GREAT our way. EXCEPT the organizer effed up and it cannot be processed, and she’s ignoring calls to fix it. I’m FURIOUS. He owes me $50,000, and I cannot sue him since this is pending. I HATE this!
choicelady
CL well they seem to be doing okay in Westboro it’s a smaller foot print and the book selection is so-so. I haven’t been there for some time I order most of my book from Amazon and if there is a Kindle version I get that. I have far too many hard cover books.
twilson117
CL – That is messed up! But after the arbitration case is completed, you can go after the organizer?
AdLib20 minutes ago
Ad – I have learned the nuances of the law matter, and I have NO clue in the GA/DOJ interaction what those nuances are. Why I do public policy and NOT law – it’s really, really complicated sometimes.
choicelady
So DeSantis is going to announce next week, I think all of his extremist fascism in FL and Disney pulling out of a billion dollar investment and thousands of jobs taints DeSantis even more. I think he’s done. Amusing that Chris Christie is likely to run as an anti-Trumper. He’s flipped on supporting Trump so many times, even gymnists are astounded.
AdLib18 minutes ago
Ad – once I get the settlement from the Bar – money in hand – I can sue the attorney who CAUSED the disasterous outcome for “offsets”, the costs of going to Texas. We can simultaneously file in federal district court. That’s here in Sacramento. And she will have a FREE attorney. Whew!
choicelady
Ad DeDumDum is going to soon find that the good people of FL will start to turn on him. And he will soon be gator bait.
twilson117
CL – Typically, as in murder cases, federal prosecutions usually follow state prosecutions and I would assume that Willis’ prosecution on Trump’s attempted overthrow of the election will preceed Smith’s/DoJ’s.
AdLib16 minutes ago
The district court suit is against Placer County Counsel, Juvenile Court, and CPS. So they are different targets.
choicelady
TW _ DeDumdum just cost FL 2000 white collar jobs. NOBODY will ignore that stupidity.
choicelady
CL – That is a big mountain you hav e been climbing but it sounds like you have a great path plotted out and you’re much closer to the summit now.
AdLib15 minutes ago
Ad – yes, state first, then feds. After innumerable federal and state trials on extremist action, I finally got that figured out.
choicelady
Ad- I think so, yes.
choicelady
CL yes he did. Along with a whole lot of revenue in the form of taxes. He clearly is not the brightest bulb in the package regardless of the fact he went to Princton and Harvard
twilson117
TW – Seeing a Dem elected mayor of Jacksonville, FL’s biggest city and beating DeSantis’ handpicked candidate sure raises expectations that FL may not be locked in for Repubs in 2024 and DeSantis may have a big surprise waiting for him in his next election.
AdLib14 minutes ago
CL DeDumDum only cares about his own image and not the folks of FL.
twilson117
The difference between the usual state/fed action is that Jack Smith and Garland are on an entirely DIFFERENT page from Fanni Wilis. They are not the same cases. So,..I jsut don’t know.
choicelady
My understanding from reading this week is that every MAGA/DeSantis candidate lost. Can’t think that makes them very happy.
choicelady
CL – Got it. Glad the suit can combine all of them into the case instead of having to mount three separate cases.
AdLib13 minutes ago
Ad – they were “co conspirators”.\
choicelady
Ad Trump has already dumped on him about that along with the Disney blunder.
twilson117
TW – Disney would have dumped on Trump for similar reasons. Trump is an ass.
choicelady
CL – True, DoJ’s document and obstruction case against Trump is completely different but the GA case against Trump is a subset of DoJ’s insurrection and 1/6 case against Trump. It is part of that case so makes sense it goes first.
AdLib11 minutes ago
Hoping that Disney prevails over Ron. Then our slogan can be, “The Mouse beat the Rat!”
choicelady
CL no doubt, but as much as I deplore Trump, I don’t believe he would have done some of the stupid things DeDumDum has.
twilson117
CL I think the Mouse is going to send the Duck after him.
twilson117
I do think it may be part, but they will work out the nuances. Whatever happens, it will be good.
choicelady
TW – once upon a time I’d agree Trump wasn’t as stupid as DeSantis. Now, he is SO unhinged I just don’t know.
choicelady
TW = LOL@!
choicelady
And you’ve got to love that Trump declared that he overturned Roe. It is impossible for Trump to win a GE now. Impossible as THE person who did indeed, set up the SCOTUS to overturn Roe and his bragging about it to help himself in the primary may be the dumbest political move in the history of US politics.
AdLib8 minutes ago
LOL – I can’t type anymore now.
choicelady
CL yes Trump is unhinged, but he seems to get his senses around money and he would have never botched that deal.
twilson117
TW – After DeSantis announces next week, watch the mudslinging between him and Trump escalate. And Trump will bury him.
AdLib8 minutes ago
Ad Trump’s mud pile is a lot bigger than DeDumDum
twilson117
CL – Disney will be in FL long after DeSantis is defeated in his next election.
AdLib7 minutes ago
I, as a trained historian, don’t think history repeats itself exactly, but I DO like Karl Marx’s observation that if it does, “The first time is for tragedy. The second time is farce.” Insofar as we have wannabe Brown Shirts and Naxi thugs, they are ABSOLUTELY idiotic failure and, yes, farcical.
choicelady
Let’s face it, a battle between two idiotic and narcissist extremists will not only be so destructive to both of them and the party they represent, it will be truly entertaining to watch month after month.
AdLib6 minutes ago
CL I never understood those here in the US love for Hitler and his brand of hate. They don’t realize most of them would have been rejected by Hitler. What a bunch of fools.
twilson117
Ad – I do agree. I’m stocking up on popcorn. And booze. It’s going to be a bumpy night.
choicelady
Ad it’s sort like Highlander, ‘There can only be one!’
twilson117
CL – The GOP primary for 2024 will be the highest rated farce the American public has ever seen. And ratings will be through the roof…which ain’t good when it’s a show about how much more horrible one is than the other.
AdLib4 minutes ago
TW – it’s the uber rich who love fascism, and they ‘sell’ it via racism. And the rubes fall for it time and again.
choicelady
Ad – let’s hope a few journalists actually note that horror embedded in the circus.
choicelady
But Trump ordered the RNC to not hold any debates and they won’t, we may never see DeSantis and Trump attack each other in person unless Trump starts to lose support and feels he needs to participate in a debate. I find that unlikely.
AdLib3 minutes ago
OK dear gentlement – I am absolutely knackered and am signing off. I am cross-eyed with fatigue. Only so much legal research I can do any day, and I’m bottoming out on brain cells. See you next week! Have a love weekend and good week to come.
choicelady
TW – Exactly! Or Idiot Thunderdome, “Two Morons go in, one Moron comes out.”
AdLib2 minutes ago
See you next time, CL. Get some well-deserved rest.
AdLib2 minutes ago
Cl yeah I get that. I’m picking that up from the book you recommended, Democracy In Chains, but I had to pause reading it because I needed to read the reference for it A Disquistion On Government to have better context.
twilson117
a few seconds ago
Well TW, you want to call this time?
AdLiba few seconds ago
Ad will do give me a sec.
