Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PT. Hope to see you then!

AdLib2 hours ago

Good evening, Ad – how are you?

choicelady

Hey everyone another Friday night

twilson117

Hi, TW!!!

choicelady

CL how are you

twilson117

How is your writing coming along?

choicelady

I’m OK. Can’t sleep. Can’t wake up. Otherwise I’m dandy!

choicelady

Well I’m working on something now hopefully will have it ready to be published later

twilson117

CL I know that feeling

twilson117

TW – that’s really good to read. I’m not being very creative these days, so I’ll admire your work.

choicelady

I don’t care what’s the matter with ANYONE, I blame Trump. He sucks all the juice out of life.

choicelady

Hey there!

AdLiban hour ago

CL I have been doing a lot of reading for this project I created for myself, and it’s proving to be interesting.

twilson117

Hey Ad!! Good to see you!

choicelady

Ad good evening

twilson117

Murph said he would join us tonight.

AdLiban hour ago

Good evening, TW and CL!

AdLiban hour ago

TW – I admire your ability to focus. I think after we get past my BIL’s memorial, I might – MIGHT – be able to focus again.

choicelady

Oh, it will be great to see Murph!

choicelady

Did you see tonight’s ruling, a permanent restraining order stopping Trump from using National Guard in Portland.

AdLiban hour ago

CL appreciate you saying that, I know you and yours have been through quite a bit.

twilson117

CL – Don’t rush yourself, take all the time you need.

AdLiban hour ago

I’ll warn you both now, I am exhausted. Had no sleep to speak of, and a VERY long doc appointment that predicted gloom and doom and wound up with ZERO concerns in all my tests.

choicelady

CL – YAY! So glad to hear your tests went so well!

AdLiban hour ago

No – I did NOT see that! I did see, per KCRA here in Sac, that the USDA said they were restoring SNAP AND the Appellate Court upheld the lower court directive to do so.

choicelady

CL it’s good to hear you have not major problems for the Doctor’s visit.

twilson117

Ad – the tests show I’m in mint condition. Why then do I feel so rotten?

choicelady

I realize it’s stress and sorrow, but seriously – I need to feel as if I’m not made of lead. Just hard to do most anything.

choicelady

CL health wise you are ok according to your doctor, but you have been through some heavy emotional events so that needs to be taken one step at time.

twilson117

TW – I think that’s true.

choicelady

I need one full day when I have NOTHING to do. Hope I find it!

choicelady

Even typing seems ponderous and weighted. That’s just silly!

choicelady

CL – Yes, Trump’s DoI (Department of Injustice) didn’t get the stay they wanted so they jumped the fence despite not getting a ruling from the Circuit court and sent an appeal to SCOTUS demanding a stay tonight. Doubt that’s going to happen. Can’t wait to see how Repubs run in 2026 on, “We wanted to starve millions of children but the activist courts made us follow the law and feed them. And look at our gold toilets in the WH! Vote for us in 2026!”

AdLiban hour ago

CL – If you’re in mint condition, how much could you get for yourself on eBay?

AdLiban hour ago

These bozos really do think they’re objects of envy and admiration. No.

choicelady

Ad – I’m too old and tarnished for eBay. Antique shows maybe. Not that.

choicelady

CL – See, you know why you don’t feel as good as you should. That’s why I said take the time you need to work through things.

AdLiban hour ago

CL well for what it’s worth, you just need to take it and be selfish as you deserve some time for yourself. You do a lot for others, you need to think about some respite for yourself and those you’re helping will understand.

twilson117

I think so. Three deaths almost exactly to the day 52 weeks apart is a bit much. October is my fave month, but I’m cancelling it next year.

choicelady

CL – I agree with TW, you push yourself all the time helping others, right now, you need to take a break from that and nurture yourself for a while.

AdLiban hour ago

I asked a friend who readily agreed that did it make sense for me to go to some hotel for two days and just veg. So I might do it. Greg can hold the fort. He just ignores stuff I stress over. And he’s not wrong.

choicelady

November’s not a great month for me. Just loss a wonderful cousin this week who we were very close with.

AdLiban hour ago

Ad sorry to hear that.

twilson117

Oh, no! I am so sorry! This is the problem with aging – while it beats the alternative, it deprives us of those whom we love. Yuck.

choicelady

OK – I have lost track – when does your daughter graduate from college?

choicelady

She is growing up too fast for me.

choicelady

CL – I think that’s a perfect idea, take a couple of days away from everything just to rest, relax, read, watch streaming, whatever, just a no-pressure escape to decompress and recharge.

AdLib44 minutes ago

Thanks TW and CL. It was kind of shocking. She was such a force of nature her whole life, it’s so hard to process that she didn’t kick Death between the legs and warn him to get lost.

AdLib43 minutes ago

I think I’ll take that advice from both of you. I’m hoping you and your wife can maybe do the same. We are all burned out. Now we had a GREAT election, we do get a tiny breather so might as well.

choicelady

Ad – that’s a huge loss. Those folks who were so vibrant are seriously missed because they give us hope.

choicelady

CL you should follow your friend’s advice, you need time for yourself just to regenerate and no one will fault you for doing it and if they do tell them your friend from MA said they can go pound sand.

twilson117

I’m just sorry your cousin didn’t get a real-life chance to kick someone else between the legs.

choicelady

Thank you, TW! “Pound sand” IS one of my fave putdowns!

choicelady

My daughter is in her final year, her 5th, at college (because they wouldn’t give her credit for all her classes at her previous college). She’s already had a very nice job offer and multiple companies reaching out to her already so even though I think we’ll be in the Trump Recession next Spring, I think she’ll start her professional life nicely.

AdLib41 minutes ago

Ad sounds like your cousin was a force to be reckon with.

twilson117

That’s awesome, Ad. Good for her! I cannot believe that a CA college wouldn’t transfer credits from a solid Boston college. That’s snotty. But she’s doing it. I still think she’s a teen. I really need to catch up with her.

choicelady

CL – It did remove a bit of weight off my psyche to see that Blue Tsunami on Tuesday. And The Dodgers winning the World Series also helped make it a nice week…but the loss of our cousin brought us back down to Earth a bit.

AdLib39 minutes ago

What’s her field? I know she thought business earlier, but I’ve lost track.

choicelady

Ad – one of the loveliest parts of the Dodger win was how many people were good with EITHER team winning. Says something fine about how people are coming together in mutuality. It was fun to see.

choicelady

CL – Can’t tell you how amazing our cousin was, a really incredible and inspiring person.

AdLib38 minutes ago

I’m sorry I never got to know her.

choicelady

That’s a huge loss to you all, and I am really sorry.

choicelady

TW – Meant toaddress my last to you but yes, she was a remarkable and singular person. Still hard to believe she’s gone.

AdLib37 minutes ago

Greg’s brother who just died has YouTube stuff up. He did as Buffalo Romeo and is the tall guy singing. It’s a duo, and I’m not sure how his partner will go on. But we shall see. He lived for his music, and he did a lot of fine things with it.

choicelady

Ad I understand sounds like an upstanding individual you two were tight

twilson117

Here is one of Lea’s productions.

choicelady

CL – My daughter’s major is Business and she’s having some impressive businesses reach out to her. Originally, she had no idea what she wanted to do and going to that great business school in MA, getting recruited via softball, set her on a great path. I told her, she can go into any industry with a business degree and now she has a clearer idea of how she wants to use that degree.

AdLib35 minutes ago

That’s just wonderful to read about her. She is one of my fave people ever. I wish her a wonderful career and life.

choicelady

You and D. have done good work there – she is an excellent human being.

choicelady

CL listening now is it your husband brother doing the signing?

twilson117

CL – Yes, that was unique, I often watch the World Series and the team that’s opposing the team I favor, I usually look at their home game fans like our temporary adversaries but with it being Toronto, I liked their fans because I like Canadians. So it was a fun series and one of the greatest I’ve ever seen!

AdLib32 minutes ago

TW – Not unlike our dear CL, our cousin was always out there punching away to accomplish things and was so fun to be around.

AdLib31 minutes ago

Ad you can’t go wrong with a business degree

twilson117

Yes. My husband was adopted at birth of parents who WERE married, but he was a bit “too early” for someone in the Army Air Corps. But they stayed married and had two more sons. We all found one another in 2017, and it’s been wonderful. But to lose first the middle brother then this one in a year has been gutting. Greg is hanging in, but it’s really, really hard.

choicelady

CL – I’m listening to Lea’s YouTube now too! Very cool! Really like it!

AdLib30 minutes ago

Lea was a Special Ed teacher for years but his music and film production won him the 2017 Oregon Documentary of the Year award for his video w music, “Vietnam: An Inner View”. It was on PBS at one point, too. Very talented guy.

choicelady

The man he produced the doc with was very weird – a most damaged vet. But together they made something wonderful. They use it to fund raise for vet groups doing work on PTSD.

choicelady

CL never was a country music fan but that was a nice song.

twilson117

CL – Thanks for that! I’ve made sure my daughter appreciates just how meaningful it is to have you think so highly as her.

AdLib28 minutes ago

His work isn’t country all the time. He just ran through most genres and gave them his spin.

choicelady

Well, I do. She’s special and good company. One can’t say that about most teens!

choicelady

Thanks CL! Overall, she’s a pretty amazing “kid” who’s well into adulthood now and headed towards a good future which is all a parent (or grandparent) wants for their youngsters.

AdLib27 minutes ago

I have a wealthy nephew now 45 who isn’t half as mature as your daughter and not nearly as interesting.

choicelady

Lea’s documentary sounds impressive.

AdLib25 minutes ago

Ad It’s clear you and your wife kept your daughter focused.

twilson117

OK, dear friends – even with Murph on the approach, I’m unable to keep eyes open. To quote the joke about Nixon, “I’m tanned, tested, and ready” but need SLEEP. I will see you next Friday I hope before we take off. Huge to you both and to Murph when he arrives.

choicelady

CL – True but she’s now 22!

AdLib25 minutes ago

Hugs to you. See? Can’t even type.

choicelady

CL get some rest

twilson117

22????? No! 14 tops!

choicelady

Get some rest, CL and please do nothing this weekend but recharge.

AdLib24 minutes ago

CL – You think you’re shocked at her being 22!

AdLib24 minutes ago

Will do, TW. Hope your work goes well. Look forward to hearing more. I will do my best to re-ignite! Good night!

choicelady

Ad is Murph joinging us later?

twilson117

SO Murph said he was going to be here tonight, don’t know if something else came up.

AdLib23 minutes ago

It is getting a bit late for him to show up but you never know.

AdLib23 minutes ago

Well the chat is open and we are here

twilson117

I would think he would have a lot to say considering the recent elections

twilson117

Indeed! BTW, I will be scheduling your posts tonight. I’ve had a lot of stuff going on the past week and fell behind on a variety of things. But will catch up this weekend.

AdLib21 minutes ago

Did you see the email Murph sent to you, me, and CL?

AdLib21 minutes ago

Ad no problem.

twilson117

No I didn’t but I haven’t been checking my email

twilson117

He was very uplifted by the Blue Tsunami on Tuesday.

AdLib20 minutes ago

I was looking forward to him being here so we could all chat about that and get his take from his Red community.

AdLib20 minutes ago

I’ve been watching the guys over and Midas Touch and they’ve been torching Trup

twilson117

I was glad to hear though that CL’s tests showed she’s in good shape. She and her hubby have been through the ringer this year.

AdLib19 minutes ago

It would really be good to hear what he has to say as they are clearly impact by what Trump is doing

twilson117

I do like the Meidas Touch guys!

AdLib18 minutes ago

I like their who line up

twilson117

And wonder how Murph’s neighbors who are on SNAP are feeling about Trump going to SCOTUS to be able to make them starve.

AdLib18 minutes ago

Same here. Brilliant people all around.

AdLib17 minutes ago

I wonder if Trump really thinks he can just tell starving people that they’re not starving and we’re in a Golden Age and they will believe him over their rumbling stomachs.

AdLib16 minutes ago

And their joblessness and evictions and losing their health insurance.

AdLib15 minutes ago

You know Ad, the folks who support Trump need to sit down and at least try to be honest with themselves when it comes to that thief. He doesn’t give a damn about them and the fact they are letting their blind hate for democracy is their own fault.

twilson117

I think that could happen for at least a portion of them as they suffer under his tyranny. I have seen posts here and there of MAGAs who voted three times for Trump and are now upset at him and feeling betrayed. I think that’s going to keep spreading.

AdLib14 minutes ago

Well, I’ll give it 10 more minutes to see if Murph can make it then if you’re available, we could chat.

AdLib13 minutes ago

I will never understand people who claim to be for freedom and justice and the American way behave in just the opposite manner if the person votes democrat

twilson117

I’m fine with that

twilson117

I think those people are just Virtue Signalling. They want people to see them as being principled and patriotic when the truth is that they are small-minded, hateful, bigoted, and/or…as a friend of mine says, stupid.

AdLib11 minutes ago

That friend of yours sounds somewhat smart you should listen to him

twilson117

That friend of mine is brilliant!

AdLib9 minutes ago

I just saw…Ketanji Brown Jackson just halted SNAP payments on behalf of SCOTUS! WTH?! She said it was for 48 hours to allow the appeals court to make a decision. But why didn’t she NOT pause SNAP since the greater harm is to people needing to eat? I don’t understand this.

AdLib6 minutes ago

In watching the Medias Touch network it is clear to me all the Trump supporters are truly stupid. As to those he has in his cabinet I believe they are waiting for him drop so they start a power struggle.

twilson117

I saw that and have no comment as I don’t understand the logic behind her decision. What’s your thoughts on the traiffs?

twilson117

Okay, just read an explanation of why Jackson did this and why it was a smart and strategic move: “KBJ threaded the needle thanks to CA1’s unfinished business. -if she denied the admin stay, the full SCOTUS woulda stepped in to override her. -if she immediately referred the case to the full Court, they coulda dragged feet. -instead she boxed them in to act quickly once she does refer the case.”

AdLib4 minutes ago

Smart

twilson117

She is so smart and principled, I was stunned by the news but felt there had to be a good reason. Now it all makes sense!

AdLib3 minutes ago

She is indeed a sharp and principled unlike some of them on the SC mostly the men

twilson117

Okay, it’s past 8pm/11pm. Shall we move this conversation to the phone?

AdLiba minute ago

I’ll call you give me 2 min.

twilson117

a few seconds ago

Ok!

AdLiba few seconds ago
