Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00 pm PT. Hope to see you then!

AdLib3 hours ago

I am here early……just signed in because there was a pause in my evening!

MurphTheSurf3

TW…..good to see you.

MurphTheSurf3

Ad, yes good to be seen. Hey I still can’t seem to get my profile pic to show I just added it and I just the see nothing

twilson117

Hey there!

AdLib2 hours ago

Hey Murph

twilson117

Hello Ad…the party started early…..anyone up for a toast to our esteemed negotiator in chief…the dumpster man.

MurphTheSurf3

TW – So it said your pic was added and it won’t show?

AdLib2 hours ago

So do is Alska still a state or did Trump sell if for a used Russin tank

twilson117

Ad yes

twilson117

These kind of meetings happen at neutral sites…..at least the competent ones are.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – The Orange-a-tan failed again at doing something that benefitted anyone other than him and his cronies. Who’s surprised? And Trump quoted Puting in saying that mail in ballots stole the election from him in 2020 and that he won by a huge margin otherwise. What a complete moron to believe Putin when it comes to the election he lost and elections in any case. He knows how to easily make Trump roll over like a dumb dog.

AdLib2 hours ago

TW – If the file size of the picture is too big, that could be the reason.

AdLib2 hours ago

Ad …when Trump started his “Russia, Russian, Russia” meme he made it clear whose serf he was.

MurphTheSurf3

It was the one I had before you know Kong and Godzillia duking it out on the carrier I’ll try another one later

twilson117

TW – Trump is probably negotiating another great deal by promising Putin Russia in exchange for a gold toilet.

AdLib2 hours ago

Murph – Actually, he started that BS after he got caught colluding with Russia along with Don Jr. getting caught in that meeting at Trump Tower. It’s always the con man’s go-to, ridicule legit accusations against them.

AdLib2 hours ago

TW – If you send me the picture, I can scale it and test it to make sure it works!

AdLib2 hours ago

Trump in his post “summit” talk with the Fox News crowd mad it clear that he now expects Zalensky to complete the work that he, Trump, had done. What astounding BS

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Yes, and the world will clearly see it’s Trump trying to hide his incompetence and impotence with Putin.

AdLib2 hours ago

Ad will do that later

twilson117

Ad…it would be hard for any competent leader to come to any other conclusion.

MurphTheSurf3

Pass the responsibility along to Zelinsky as Trump claims victory. Most people are not anywhere near stupid enough to buy into that BS though about 40% appear to be such rubes.

AdLib2 hours ago

So….what needs to be done…..and by whom?

MurphTheSurf3

Actually, a major poll came out today affirming Trump’s support at 37% nationally and showing that he has the lowest approval numbers in history for the first year of a president.

AdLib2 hours ago

Hey guys that sound I’m hearing is the fires in Hell are burning hotter since Trump made that stupid remark

twilson117

Ad….but who will those polls move to act….and what would that action be.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Ukraine has to hang on, keep attacking Russian military and infrastructure with the support of the EU and hang on until a Dem replaces Trump in the WH and much more aid can help swing the war towards Ukraine’s favor. And if the economy tanks and the price of oil drops low enough, as is likely, Putin will be in very bad shape to continue the war.

AdLib2 hours ago

Three more years of this clown and all his dumb followers.

twilson117

Ad….can Ukraine hold on…..without the US in its corner.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph I would doubt it.

twilson117

Murph – What Trump and Repubs are trying to do to cheat in the 2026 elections shows that they know the majority will vote against him and Repubs if they can. A Blue Tsunami is very possible and could overcome redistricting and voter suppression as it has in the past. And with Blue State Govs pursuing gerrymandering to counter Repubs, there may not be an advantage for Repubs at all. They’ve already gerrymandered the hell out of most states that they can, they don’t have much more they can do.

AdLib2 hours ago

TW…me too. I do not think that the rest of Europe can fill in for the U.S>

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Believe it or not, Trump already agreed, for what that’s worth, to sell the EU weapons for them to give to Ukraine and the EU is really stepping up its investment in military equipment for Ukraine. They know they’re next if Ukraine falls so they’re going to make sure it doesn’t.

AdLib2 hours ago

Ad…I agree with your analysis of where the electoral parade is going to. go….but how does this. help Ukraine.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph the thing Trump doesn’t get is the weapons being sent to Ukraine are surplus and the money allocated is going to the weapons mfg

twilson117

Ad…is the U.S. honoring its commitment to arm Ukraine (through the back door via a third party sale)?

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – I think the EU will be filling in for the US with the same hope, that if they pour a lot more money in during Trump, a Dem President will relieve them of that new financil burden. But as I say, they have no choice but to fund Ukraine’s defense, it’s existential for them.

AdLib2 hours ago

TW can you say a bit more about your observation of the back door. I don’t think I understand it.

MurphTheSurf3

Trump being a greedy beast, has siad that as long as the US doesn’t have to keep giving money/equipment to Ukraine out of the pockets of the US, he doesn’t care what the EU does.

AdLib2 hours ago

Ad, I am sure you are right about the EU position…one of hope that they hold on long enough for the national leadership are to change but how does Ukraine hold out…the Russians are on the m ove.

MurphTheSurf3

AD…Trump contradicts himself all the time often knowing he is doing so.

MurphTheSurf3

I didn’t say anything about a back door what I mentioned was the weapons going to Ukraine are surplus and the money that was approved went to the manufactures I do not know if Ukraine got actual funds from us the reports I read that is how Biden did it with approval from Congress. Trump with his stupid self just will not take the time to actually read and above all keep his damn mouth shut and listen.

twilson117

Murph – I would not be surprised if EU nations start becoming more involved in Ukraine’s defense. All kinds of support, command and control, training, and especially aircraft and new tech drones and missiles.

AdLib2 hours ago

Ad I would agree with you on that.

twilson117

Murph – Yes, I would never count on Trump saying anything honestly but thinking of what a greedy weasel he is, I think he would like the idea of profiting off the Ukraine war and his cronies in US weapons companies too, that he would be happy for the EU to buy bilions of dollars of weapons from the US.

AdLib2 hours ago

And another way Ukraine perseveres is by getting lots more of “Iron Dome” type defensive weapons to protect themselves as they fight back.

AdLib2 hours ago

Murph’s back!

AdLib2 hours ago

Ah…good observation TW….Trump is the classic know it all…

MurphTheSurf3

Ad….what you say here is what I think must happen…a very specific ALLIANCE that puts Western European powers on the front line…..Putin is clear…..he wants the restoration of the USSR and maybe more.

MurphTheSurf3

Trump is exhausting for the country to have put him back in office it’s beyond belief it’s just is.

twilson117

Murph how is you project with the church coming along?

twilson117

Did you see a judge is coming down against ICE grabbing people at immigration court hearings? And Judge Breyer here in CA held a hearing over Trump’s deployment of the NG and military and it went very badly for the DoJ lawyers. We could see two huge roadblocks against Trump’s madness soon, not to mention the case against him on declaring tariffs, that should be coming to a decision soon too.

AdLiban hour ago

Ad I saw that on Legal AF on Medias Touch

twilson117

Murph – The irony is that Putin’s openness about taking back ex-USSR countries has made it so clear to the EU that they have to do whatever it takes to stop him in Ukraine.

AdLiban hour ago

…..unless of course the appellate judges Trump appointed overturn such rulings which are upheld by the Scotus he created.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Sure, that’s a possibility in all of these cases but what we don’t know is how far the corrupt SCOTUS 5 will go to tear up the Constitution. They do want some of it destroyed as we’ve seen, just don’t know how illegal and unconstitutional they’ll go in clearcut cases like those three.

AdLiban hour ago

Ad…I do not doubt that most of Europe would like see Putin’s Plan neutralized…..they see shades from the past coming back to haunt them……but do they have the resources to do that…..Since so many of the crucial weapon systems come from the U.S will Trump work to block that supply route.

MurphTheSurf3

And as I say, we may lose battles in the short term but the more criminal the SCOTUS decisions are, the more momentum and consensus on a Dem President and Congress expanding the court.

AdLiban hour ago

Ad….I fear that that there is nowhere they will not go.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – So you’re asking if Trump’s greed or desperation for Putin’s pat on the head would end up on top? Don’t know for sure but Trump’s greed doesn’t seem to take a backseat to anything, at least so far.

AdLiban hour ago

Ad…there is no where too low for Trump not to go.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – That’s a legit concern. I don’t put anything past those fascists on the SCOTUS. I just don’t know but it is possible, at least once in a while, they have ruled against Trump and Repub corruption. Just hoping these might be those exceptions.

AdLiban hour ago

Murph – Trump has to look up to see a gutter, he is the lowest of the low but I wouldn’t count out his listening to his greed over anything else.

AdLiban hour ago

I wonder what it must be like to be among the few honest and brave justices…the three…day by day.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Funny, I worry that the three good SCOTUS judges may tire of being subjected to the fascism of the others and quit. Hope they hang in there and a Dem president and Congress come to their rescue.

AdLiban hour ago

Ad….I have the same worry and I hope along with you

MurphTheSurf3

I do think that as Trump keeps overreaching and failing and is condemned louder and louder, that the country will come out massively in 2026and 2028, defying whatever cheating he and Repubs do, and vote the way upset people do, against the current admin and party in power.

AdLiban hour ago

It seems like we have a real crisis brewing with he SC, RPugs in the House and Senate and people do interested in who is dating who to give a damn about their country

twilson117

BTW, Trump and the DoJ had to agree in court to give up a claim on having control over the DC Police, a judge threatened them if they didn’t back down from that illegal claim.

AdLiban hour ago

Ad….that is what it will take to give us another chance…..at the root however are fundamental flaws in our Constitution that have made all of this possible. Can that be dealt with.

MurphTheSurf3

TW…I agree….the court is being seen in a very bad light bu many on both sides.

MurphTheSurf3

Hi – better late than never?

choicelady

Hi Choice.

MurphTheSurf3

Hey CL

twilson117

Hey Murph! Ad, and TW – how are you!

choicelady

TW – I know the Corrupt 6 on the SCOTUS think they’re untouchable and can do anything they want to do (they did get away with taking bribes and know it) but if mayors, governors and the people reach a point that’s coming very soon and simply refuse to respect their decisions, it will cause trouble but it will start disarming them of the corrupt power they crave using.

AdLiban hour ago

Hey CL!

AdLiban hour ago

CL…I am ok but my mission to work with expanded shelters here continues to be running along a very rough road.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – I’m REALLY sorry to hear that.

choicelady

Murph – I think it can be dealt with but we need aggressive Dem leadership in Congress and the WH to plow ahead and reverse Trump’s destruction to our government and democracy and use laws to install guard rails that can’t just be ignored.

AdLiban hour ago

CL….yes…..the resistance is mounting.

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – Is the church having better luck in moving ahead with housing the homeless?

AdLiban hour ago

Ad – I think leadership HAS to come from outside the Congress mostly governors but also movements and groups. Congress has limitations we don’t. They need OUR help.

choicelady

CL – Doing well. How is hubby doing?

AdLiban hour ago

Murph – who is resisting and why?

choicelady

Ad – the church has run into roadblocks.

MurphTheSurf3

Hubs is doing quite well at long last. HUGE relief

choicelady

CL that is good to hear

twilson117

CL – Once again, you’re absolutely right. This needs to be a movement up and down the scale, individuals, groups, Dem officials in states and cities together with Dems in Congress. If anyone can bring a majority together into a movement to change what’s going on, it’s Trump and his cruelty.

AdLiban hour ago

Murph – What roadblocks?

AdLiban hour ago

CL – That’s fantastic news!

AdLiban hour ago

Ad…I agree that we need aggressive Dem leadership but for that aggression to be effective there has to be a shift in fulcrum of power which elections could bring…but will we have such elections.

MurphTheSurf3

There is a lot of focus on women’s health issues, but OMG you guys have a lot of nasties with which to deal. This is has been a real eye opener for me as well as him.

choicelady

Ad…the roadblocks are largely governmental and legal……

MurphTheSurf3

Murph – I remember hearing that the Repub gerrymandering and voter suppression can swing an election by 1% – 3% maximum. With Dems now ready to counter the gerrymandering, if there is a Blue Wave/Tsunami in 2026 and 2028, Dems will still win despite having up to 3% stolen from them.

AdLiban hour ago

Murph – with the Blue states willing to redistrict mid decade openly challenging TX and a few others, we should do OK. We now know some of what happened 2024, and security is going to be MUCH tighter over the equipment. Congress at the moment is pretty powerless, so the states are the locus for real resistance.

choicelady

Ad….I thing that the effectiveness of gerry pandering, voter suppression and altering results remains at a low level as long as it is not widely and deeply at work with little to slow it down. Massive fraud would have massive effect.

MurphTheSurf3

CL – Agreed! And add a couple of other factors to 2026 especially, the party out of power is always the most motivated to vote and turnout while the voters for the party in power become more disinterested in voting because nothing is making them as whipped up as feeling under threat as Dem voters will feel.

AdLiban hour ago

I propose we go back to how we counted in the 60s. I was part of the 1966 election in IL. I and a kajillion students went to McCormack Place in huge rooms to get the ballot counts. We were assigned precincts – I did US Senate but downstate. Others had Congressional districts and state seats. We had headset phones and worked w operators who put us through to our specific precincts, we tallied on slips of paper, and runners took them to the main tallying point. Took us until 2 am, but we DID it. Now, why can’t we do that again?

choicelady

Choice I agree with your understanding of how electoral corruption can be curbed but I fear that if it is too widely at work and ineffectively countered.

MurphTheSurf3

And my second point for 2026 is that the economy is faltering now, there is absolutely no path for the economy to be better for people who are being crushed by inflation, loss of or unaffordability of health insurance, unemployment, etc.

AdLiban hour ago

Sorry….I need to take a call…..about the housing we’re speaking of…..see you all next week….

MurphTheSurf3

Take care Murph

twilson117

Murph – the Red states we can ignore. It’s the swing states and swing areas in Blue states that have to be recalibrated. If we get the tallying equipment “sanitized” soon, we won’t have a problem. We also have paper ballots to compare to electronic tallies in CA and should do that everywhere.

choicelady

Night Murph!

choicelady

Murph – Massive election fraud is detectable and so difficult in all 50 states, especially blue and purple states. Repubs already have cheated via gerrymandering in Red States so there’s not as much for them to gain at this point. And Blue and Purple states that have Dems in power, as most do, won’t perticipate in fraud to help Repubs.

AdLiban hour ago

CL…read your last post…..good points…..is what you suggest taking root?

MurphTheSurf3

I was in two supermarkets today, and I was pretty horrified at how empty shelves are. Friday is usually a high-stock day given the weekend coming. LOTS of missing products.

choicelady

Good night all…gotta go…

MurphTheSurf3

Yes, Murph – in every swing state.

choicelady

Night Murph!

AdLiban hour ago

Good notes to end on….Keep the Faith My Friends….

MurphTheSurf3

CL – Yes, that can and probably will happen. All the people out there who feel helpless as Trump destroys everything we care about in this country, will jump at the chance to fight back by winning the next election. The No Kings protest appears to be the largest protest in US history, people are ready to do something. I think the next election is it.

AdLiban hour ago

I do not know what to say to Murph other than it probably would have been better just to offer shelter quietly instead of trying to do it formally.

choicelady

Folks I’m going to bug out a little early as well have some things I need to address have good weekend.. Take care.

twilson117

CL – Really? When Trump started with the tariff insanity, I stocked up on TP and paper towels, concerned about a supply chain shortage as we had with Covid. Sounds like now it’s hitting.

AdLiban hour ago

They are planning a NO Kings again, and I bet it’s bigger. The court knocked the pins out as you mentioned leaving the DOJ unable to decimate DC.

choicelady

Take care, TW! Hope all goes well!

AdLiban hour ago

CL – Yes, I think tomorrow is another day of nationwide protest.

AdLiban hour ago

Ad – it’s mostly, far as I can see, canned items. Cans are among our largest imports, and the US has only two tinning mills. No way to get others up and running for the foreseeable future.

choicelady

We will only grow stronger as Trump continues his hateful reign.

AdLiban hour ago

Good night TW – nice to see you however briefly.

choicelady

I forget what tomorrow’s theme is, Ad. I don’t do it in person since it’s really hard for Greg and me to stand long times. But we do other things, so we hope that helps.

choicelady

CL – And the irony is, if a shortage of groceries is happening, canned goods are the thing people usually stock up on. I know you have. We’re pretty good with canned goods but not as good as we could be.

AdLiban hour ago

You and hubby have done so much for others all your lives, however you support this movement to save this country will help and be appreciated.

AdLiban hour ago

I would lay in flats of canned meats and lots of beans. I also have dry. My big hole is probably TP. I don’t have much room for it.

choicelady

Well, I went and got myself ordained. The online way. Perfectly in keeping with US tradition of the self proclaimed preacher. Got a shirt and collar. I will use that in helping to protect people. Kind of cheesy, but whatever works.

choicelady

Just read no deal between Putin and Trump so much for Trump being the big deal maker and ending things between Russia and Ukraine

twilson117

I’ve got an area in my converted garage where I’ve stored extra TP and paper towels but I was starting to think I wouldn’t need them. And it depends on whether the courts reject Trump’s theft of the right to levy tariffs, they shoot him down, things would weirdly get better.

AdLiban hour ago

Maybe it will make Trump pissed enough to send rockets to Ukraine.

choicelady

CL – You are amazing! Congrats! Love it!

AdLiban hour ago

Ad – the whole economy is effed.

choicelady

CL don’t know about that but I can’t beleive he is a happy camper there goes his Nobel

twilson117

It’s really purty – dark purple and one of the Bluesky women I know in person is a great textile artist who will make me a stole.

choicelady

Ok I’m out take care all have a good weekend

twilson117

TW – even threatening to tariff Norway didn’t help!!! Nobel-less to his dying day.

choicelady

TW – Yep, Trump is all hat and no cattle, as they say. He’s a con man who promotes himself as a dealmaker and hasn’t made a single difficult deal in his life, just uses bribery, extortion, and power to force others to give him what he wants. That’s not dealmaking, that’s just bullying.

AdLiban hour ago

CL – You’ll have to send me a photo of you dressed in it!

AdLiban hour ago

Well, he is the master of “deals” made largely on threats and conniving. Funny how that doesn’t work in government.

choicelady

Will do!

choicelady

Yep, he can’t negotiate when on an even footing with others, he thinks extortion is dealmaking, that’s the only way he knows to make a deal.

AdLiban hour ago

He has discovered that the world CAN go on without the USA and especially HIM. He can’t wrap his mind around that.

choicelady

Take away Trump’s ability to extort someone and he couldn’t make a deal, even on eBay.

AdLib44 minutes ago

choicelady

All the revenue lost for the US, from tourism, American products being boycotted, small business people in the US closing shop because they can’t pay tariffs, he couldn’t tank the economy more if he was trying to. And maybe he is trying to.

AdLib43 minutes ago

He is a parvenue with pretensions. As the Brits say, “He’s jumped up and no better than he should be”. Nobody likes him. And he’s a rotten negotiator because he does NOT understand the “art of the deal”.

choicelady

Well, there was a lot written before the election that the GOAL is to crash the economy and let the Tech Bros bail us out but getting land, resources, and gold for so doing.

choicelady

He doesn’t care one way or the other.

choicelady

I wonder if it’s possible for Trump to pardon everyone whose comitting crimes and violating the Constitution? His people in his admin, all the ICE Agents breaking the law, etc. I think he’ll leave most of them high and dry for a Dem admin and AG to go after.

AdLib41 minutes ago

No clue – but there better be some way to bring justice to all those who’ve committed crimes.

choicelady

CL – Maybe that’s Trump’s plan but he won’t be able to avoid the election losses that follow such economic catastrophe, no matter how much he and Repubs try to cheat.

AdLib40 minutes ago

What does amaze me is the trouble ICE is having recruiting people. Apparently being Play Rambo isn’t the flex Trump assumed it would be. THE thing to pass in CA is SB 805 “No Vigilantes” law that requires every agent to provide ID to local law enforcement.

choicelady

There will need to be a comission as there was after Watergate and Jan 6 that pursues recommending criminal charges to a Dem AG. I see Nuremberg type trials in their future.

AdLib38 minutes ago

I REALLY want there to be a massive sweep of the House and Senate so we can impeach AND convict the bastard.

choicelady

Ad – I agree. These people are criminals, and SCOTUS has already via the Blevins decision some years ago, paved the way to sue their asses off for violating people’s rights.

choicelady

CL – Any news on where that No Vigilantes law is right now in the CA Legislature? That would be a powerful tool to curp some of this madness of secret police committing crimes.

AdLib37 minutes ago

CL – Did not know about Blevins but very glad to learn about that avenue.

AdLib36 minutes ago

It passed Public Safety and is headed to Appropriations where it will probably go into suspense. It has almost no opposition and TONS of support. Police Chiefs are wary but not strongly so. I think it has an excellent chance and appears to be legal thus not facing big court challenges.

choicelady

Blevins is part of another court case the name of which i have totally forgotten.

choicelady

What someone needs to unpack is whether ICE agents are actually fed employees or contractors. If the latter – since they appear to get no fed training – they are sitting ducks for law suits.

choicelady

The way Trump and his criminal mob are acting, they don’t seem to think there will be any consequences to their illegal behavior, maybe they think most America supports them, that polls are fake news, or that they have confidence they can steal all future elections. Not likely. And if The Hague wants to come after them for crimes against humanity in the way they are making the immigrants they grab suffer and die, not even a Trump pardon can help any of them. I’m looking at you especially Noem!

AdLib33 minutes ago

What does that mean for a bill to go into suspense?

AdLib33 minutes ago

ICC should smack Trump down. Next trip to Scotland – slam and DUNK on his arrest.

choicelady

You heard of the ICE workers or contractors who raided a restaurant and stole and destroyed property? They need to be put in prison.

AdLib31 minutes ago

Yes, after Trump is gone from the WH and Dems are in, a Dem president shouldn’t lift a finger to prevent the ICC from prosecuting Trump for a mountain of human rights crimes.

AdLib30 minutes ago

It’s while costs are evaluated. It also could be assessed as not a huge expense putting it NOT into suspense but onto the “consent calendar” meaning it gets passed and goes to the floor immediately. This was done on a “gut and amend” basis – a totally different bill was passed out of the Senate, utterly changed, and now just passes the Assembly. It’s NOT anyone’s fave method, but it’s an “urgency” bill everyone thought worth it. NO GOP even voted in Public Safety. They see the writing on the wall.

choicelady

I mean, the horiffic concentration camps and third country dumping of helpless immigrants have to be glaring human rights crimes.

AdLib29 minutes ago

Any good president would say, “Oh, my, my hands are tied, whatever can I do which is nothing. Too bad, not sad.”

choicelady

Did you hear they are CLOSING Alligator Auschwitz? Judge shut them down flat. The other proposed one is stopped. They are moving captives but, unfortunately, no one knows where.

choicelady

All of that is great to know and good news. I mean, what costs could there be in requiring officers to display that they are officers and not hide their identities? Aside from the costs of prosecution which are standard on any law that’s passed. Hope it speeds through, the sooner the better.

AdLib27 minutes ago

There are more court victories and COMPLIANCE than MSM is even trying to cover.

choicelady

Exactly! A Dem president should give a “bless his heart” and “thoughts and prayers” as Trump is locked up in The Hague.

AdLib26 minutes ago

I think they will find most of the ICE agents are just untrained goobers but many may be licensed bounty hunters WHICH MAKES THEM ILLEGAL in CA.

choicelady

Ad – that would be SO FITTING!

choicelady

I would love to have a federal court label ICE as bounty hunters. It would change EVERYTHING.

choicelady

Yes, of course they’re having to close a criminal concentration camp that violates so many laws. The judge stopped them from continuing to build it and asked for the contract with FL to create it because that would’ve been criminal not to go through the whole legal process, so they’re just running away from it like the wesels they are.

AdLib25 minutes ago

Yup! You notice Kristi is no longer bragging on it.

choicelady

CL – Hey, so if the law passes that they can’t hide their identity and ARE bounty hunters, they can be prosecuted and sent to jail! How fitting!

AdLib24 minutes ago

Yup. AND if they are licensed in CA, they lose their livelihood permanently. Bounty hunters can go after ONE group – deadbeat Dads. That’s it.

choicelady

ICE would lose a big chunk of their new recruits, instinct tells me that many are just bounty hunters and they do get paid “bonuses” for each person they grab. Isn’t that the definition of a bounty hunter, you get paid a bounty for grabbing people?

AdLib22 minutes ago

Did you know we have a state public registry that names cops who have been fired so that they can’t sashay down the road to the next town to work? It’s open to police departments in every state to review.

choicelady

Kristi thought it was smart to go after the South Park guys for going after her. Can’t wait to see their next episode, I have a feeling they will destroy her.

AdLib21 minutes ago

They can’t recruit NOW which is why they lifted the age limit – now we will have geezers trying to apply. That’ll work.

choicelady

CL – No, I didn’t know that. I know Repubs killed a national law that listed bad cops.

AdLib21 minutes ago

Good to hear.

AdLib20 minutes ago

I will NEVER forgive Dem operatives who told Harris and Walz to stop calling Trump and JD “weird”. Humor WORKS against these fools.

choicelady

I think ICE morons have to be at least 21 and now that they’re stooping to “no age limit”, I have a feeling some senior citizens trying to take down young, healthy Latinos may be in for a surprise.

AdLib19 minutes ago

Look at the success Gavin is having with his mock Tweets in “Trumpspeak”. His slams have probably done more good than almost anything but South Park.

choicelady

I do love the idea of gramps hobbling along w his walker hot-footing it after a young, healthy immigrant.

choicelady

Indeed! Humor is so powerful against fascists, they need to build a dominating, terrorizing image to make citizens bow to them, satirizing them really damages that.

AdLib18 minutes ago

We saw a video of the “Meal Team Six” ICE agents losing out to several young immigrants.

choicelady

CL – Yes, and the funny thing is that reporters are questioning him about his tweets and his response is pretty good, “Why are you questioning me about them when you’re not questioning Trump?”

AdLib17 minutes ago

BTW – I’m hoping that the “sandwich assault” case uses my memory of a 1968 event where a man, McMilan was his last name, was exonerated on the grounds a sandwich was not an assault weapon.

choicelady

I LOVED his comeback, yes!

choicelady

CL – Sounds like a Comedy Central series, “ICE Grandpas”.

AdLib16 minutes ago

CL – I can’t imagine a decent judge giving any jail time to the sandwich guy. Even if he wants the symbol of standing by law enforcement, sandwich throwing would be too ridiculous a charge to require prison.

AdLib14 minutes ago

I posted the Sandwich case on Bluesky then found the guy’s attorney and sent the case reference to her. There may have been another because I was told one of my CS Dominguez Hills classmates had done the same, and our physics prof testified on the lack of “aerodynamics” and tensile strength of sandwiches. If that wasn’t folklore, he got off as well.

choicelady

The FEDERAL judge let him out on his own recognizance saying it was a stupid charge. When does THAT happen?

choicelady

That is both wonderful and hilarious! The tensile strength of sandwiches! Love it!

AdLib13 minutes ago

I think another way to handle it is for immigrants to dress in ICE garb – it’s on Amazon.

choicelady

CL – Thankfully, it should have happened in this case and the overcharging by the DoJ probably led to that and a judge who will be angry at them for pursuing this.

AdLib12 minutes ago

Apparently the fed judge gave DOJ and earful.

choicelady

CL – That’s so funny too! Maybe the immigrants should dress up as ICE and make citizen arrests of Latino ICE agents?

AdLib11 minutes ago

DOJ has 30 days to come up with a charge. The guy, Dunn, was fired from DOJ, which is probably inevitable – but I hope nothing much happens to him.

choicelady

Works for me. I believe fully in the power of deception and stealth as tactics against fascism.

choicelady

I will definitely read up on the case and the judge. I enjoy reading a judge unloading on spiteful and clueless Trumper DoJ morons.

AdLib10 minutes ago

Nothing better than an irate judge pursuing crappy prosecutors.

choicelady

CL – He may have a career as a spokesman for Subway since Jared didn’t turn out so well.

AdLib9 minutes ago

Dunn would be ideal!

choicelady

Of course he CLEARLY was drunk as a skunk when he did it. But it was pretty funny.

choicelady

The ad campaign could have him hurling subs at all kinds of LEOs but they catch them and enjoy them.

AdLib8 minutes ago

Oh, I LIKE that!

choicelady

Yes, he looked drunk which of course is not a defense of…uh…what crime?

AdLib8 minutes ago

They’re already calling the sub “The All-American Hero”.

choicelady

Heh! Love it!

AdLib7 minutes ago

Hoagies for Justice is another.

choicelady

Subway could promote an “All American Hero” sandwich and have him come on, take a bite and say, “Dunn!”

AdLib7 minutes ago

How about being SUBversive?

AdLib6 minutes ago

I MAY have met Dunn at my BIL’s funeral in March. Not sure. Several of my BIL’s former colleagues, younger guys, were there.

choicelady

Oh, THAT is good, Ad. Excellent!

choicelady

Very interesting.

AdLib6 minutes ago

Subway just needs to hire me to do their marketing.

AdLib6 minutes ago

They all wanted to meet Greg because he does work similar to theirs on civil rights. They all knew the story of the brothers reunited.

choicelady

We met a couple who worked with their father, too. That was powerful.

choicelady

Have the people who have thrown pies in the faces of politicians and CEOs every been successfully prosecuted?

AdLib5 minutes ago

You’d be perfect, Ad.

choicelady

Ad – actually, yes, but that’s different due to the pie plate and that it was a mess in the face. Tossing a sandwich does not meet the test.

choicelady

Really? His story about reuniting with his family went a bit viral? How cool!

AdLib4 minutes ago

No – just in the DOJ offices where Greg East had worked.

choicelady

He was already retired, but friends learned of the “lost brother” and spread the word.

choicelady

Technically, it’s battery to throw anything at anyone but judges don’t like their court being used for trying to put people in prison for throwing harmless things. I would love to see the bruises and broken ribs from having a tuna sandwich thrown at someone.

AdLib2 minutes ago

Very cool!

AdLib2 minutes ago

I probably better go. Cats are letting me know I’m WAY overdue for their dinner. Hope to be back more regularly now Greg’s so much better. It’s been a round few months. Glad we’re done.

choicelady

Glad you made it tonight! Feed them cats and you and hubby have a relaxing weekend!

AdLiba minute ago

Dunn just kind of lost his grip on it, and tossed it about 6 inches. THAT is not assault.

choicelady

Well, good night, dear friend. Talk to you soon.

choicelady

It was a 6 inch sub.

AdLiba few seconds ago

Well, there you go.

choicelady

a few seconds ago

Heh!

AdLiba few seconds ago

Night for now!

AdLiba few seconds ago
