I would guess that most universoties, especially the prestigious ones, have not really worked as a community with other universities, likely seeing them as the competition and also the mindset of being independent gives feeds their elitist egos. Working together may be a very new thing to them and since so much outside money is received and needed, they may listen to contributors first who are willing to pay the dictator to get it all over with. I was at a meeting put on by the local Business Council that was set up to provide info on how the tariffs would work…let’s say that it did not go well. The instructors told the truth….the folks did not want to hear that they well be paying for the tariffs ……yelling matches kept breaking out.

Murph – Of course you’re right about Repubs doing everything they can to steal elections but factor this in, if the US is in terrible economic shape, ICE gestapo keeps assaulting and arresting old women and children, Trump builds a golden ballroom for $200M while millions are losing jobs and can’t pay for groceries, as hard as Repubs will try to cheat in the upcoming elections, it could be a tsunami of anger against Trump and MAGAs that cheating just can’t stop.
