I hope Murph is on tonight. He had some fab news he shared on email. That man is amazing.
choicelady

That he is as you are as well.
twilson117
TW – that is always what my beloved Ex used to say – got to get my ducks in a row. Makes me smile.
choicelady
Look, we may be older than the Gen Z folks, but we have MUCH better sayings!
choicelady

I know I’m older then Gen Z and make no bones about it.
twilson117
I’m a Boomer. No bones about it@!
choicelady

How is your granddaughter? I need to catch up after two week out.
choicelady

As I so when the young one complain about things I just say then fix it, sure we may have broken a few things but so what fix and make it better.
twilson117
TW – Exactly! We inherited a dented world. EVERYONE does. Fix it!

choicelady

Oh no I Ma = here in Mass grandaughter still in high school althought she will be senior and graduate next year. Time flies I remeber holding her when shew was just a peanut.
twilson117
LOL – I was surprised since I THOUGHT she was younger, but to me MA means Masters of Arts. How funny! I am delighted you get to have time with her. I’m sorry my memory is so shallow!

Our granddaughter just graduated. I also remember when she was wee. She was about 36 hours old when we saw her, swaddled in a green blanketm, tiny green beanie. She looked like a big burrito. And now she’s an adult. YIKES!
choicelady

She is taking some college classes in addtion to her regular HS classess
twilson117
What are her interests?
choicelady

Right now it seems to vary, there was time where I thought writing would be the way she would go but that seems to have trailed off. She is very active in Special Olympics.
twilson117
This is the time of life where one should be all over the map loving so many different things. She will find her path. Glad she has so many interests!
choicelady

I’m hoping she sticks with writing but who knows. Something tells me she might be leaning toward law.
twilson117
Well, writing will come in handy. Can’t tell you how many lawyers CANNOT write! All her interests, all her skills will stand her in good stead.
choicelady
The law needs good “interpreters” to make it clear to us ordinary folks.
choicelady

We’ll see,
twilson117
How are you doing with your own writing?
choicelady

Well ok, haven’t written anything recently I’ve been doing some research of topic that has pique my interested and at the moment been doing a lot of reading I mean a lot of reading.
twilson117
You feel like revealing about what?
choicelady

My last two articles are up here on the planet.
twilson117
I haven’t read them yet. I will!
choicelady

I will say this much, there was and Elon Musk before there was Elon Musk.
twilson117
LOL! I’m intrigued! I happened to interact with a man on BlueSky who knew him as a kid in South Africa, and his insights were very interesting. I can’t wait to read what you have found.
choicelady

I will say this the person I am looking at was Greek very popular, very rich, very flambouyant and uber sure of himself a major figure in the Peloponnesian War if he was alive today Trump would hand him the key to the kindom.
twilson117
That squares with the observations of the man who knew him! The man with whom I corresponded had parents who were covert anti-apartheid activists. They knew people I knew from that time. He said the Elon of his youth was very arrogant. Wonder if he knew the historical “self”?
choicelady
That’s fascinating. I think all that is moderated by Trump’s rampant narcissism and self indulgence. No matter who powerful someone else is, Trump has to top him.
choicelady

I dobut it but it’s possible. Not too many people know much about Ancient Greece and how fragile deomocacry was for them and they were the ones who provided the framework for what we have today.
twilson117

Trump is feeling his oats, seems like the SC has given him a partial win on birthright citizenship but I need to read to opnion and check a few news sources I trust to get the full skinny on that.
twilson117
I always thought the Greek system was indeed fragile. When it exists for the few , it’s hard to sustain. Still and all, they set us a course we expanded to be inclusive…slowly and surely…but that has its own problems.
choicelady
He got NO win on birthright citizenship today.
choicelady

What I heard was it more around the nation wide restraining order is that correct?
twilson117
What they decided was that for a circuit court ruling to be national it needed two factors – two “doors” to walk through. That hadn’t always been the case, but they defined it narrowly. The EO is still illegal. Birthright citizenship is still the law.
choicelady
Yes – injunctions. They have yet to tackle the birthright citizenship head on. It IS the law of the land. I think you will find the Katie Phang substack discussion interesting.
choicelady

I figured as much, but Trump and his nitwit followers seem to think they won on that. The court would be crazy to upend that.
twilson117
Norm Eisen, part of the plaintiff body and on the substack discussion, is w ACLU on this, and they just REFILED using one of the two “doors”.
choicelady
TW – Trump always thinks he won.
choicelady

Yeah I know. We’ve had some questionable presidents but I don’t think any of them as stupid as this fool is.
twilson117

I just can’t get past the fact that people believe the lies he constantly tells them.
twilson117
SERIOUSLY!!! I keep remembering Trump’s professor saying Trump was “the stupidest damned student I ever had,”
choicelady
TW we hear what we need.
choicelady

I remember that quote as well.
twilson117

And only read in twitter chats I believe the reading level is down to a 5th grade level now
twilson117

I see your gov is suing Fox for 787 million a number they should be familier with.
twilson117
I think that’s a hoot! I hope he gets what he wants in discovery. About time someone put the thumbscrews to FOX
choicelady

It should be interesting. I’m going to head out you have a good weekend.
twilson117
You, too, TW. See you soon here I hope! Good night!
