Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then! AdLib 3 hours ago

Hey glenn. Kind of reeling from RBG passing away. AdLib 2 hours ago

Hi Ad, am I too early? glenn 2 hours ago

Nope, You’re right on time. AdLib 2 hours ago

Yeah, no kidding. What a shock! I was glad to see that Murkowski (I think that’s who it was) says no new appointment until after the election. glenn 2 hours ago

Yes. And Mother Jones posted an article listing around a dozen Repubs quted in 2016 stating that the people should decide in the election and a seat shouldn’t be filled. Too bad Repubs have no ethics or shame. AdLib 2 hours ago

Hmmmm, just tried to check out who it was, and I can’t find the story on the two sites who had it posted about an hour ago. Very strange. glenn 2 hours ago

Yes, Murkowski said she wouldn’t vote untiil after the election…but does that mean in Lame Duck session or after new president is sworn in? AdLib 2 hours ago

That’s interesting. We’ll see if their word is good. I’m definitely not holding my breath. Maybe Romney will have some ethics; especially considering I don’t think he was in the Senate when the turtle committed robbery. glenn 2 hours ago

Hey Murph! glenn 2 hours ago

HI GLENN…AND ADLIB…. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

Well the stakes just got higher. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

Hey Murph. Rough day. 2020 sucks. AdLib 2 hours ago

Ad–good question. I was assuming it was in the Lame Duck session, but that would mean that the RTLB would be the one doing the nominating, even if Biden wins. glenn 2 hours ago

Yeah, 2020 really does suck. glenn 2 hours ago

Hey PPO! AdLib 2 hours ago

A Sad day. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

PPO–We’re all in mourning. glenn 2 hours ago

Here’s that article with many Repubs saying in 2016 that a SCOTUS seat shouldn’t be filled in an election year: https://t.co/uoB2j0Y7lp?amp=1 AdLib 2 hours ago

I have been expecting this for months holding out the rather forlorn that RBG could hold out until the next inauguration. Yes, I believe that the GOP would push through a nomination in record time….a few days if need be…..so MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

https://www.motherjones.com/2020-elections/2020/09/a-long-list-of-gop-senators-who-promised-not-to-confirm-a-supreme-court-nominee-during-an-election-year/ AdLib 2 hours ago

Of course McConnell totally reversed about not appointing a Justice 50 days before and election. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

Sen. Collins is disturbed pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

If/When another right wing GOP takes the seat then our hopes rest with a Democratic President, House and Senate……and an expansion of the SCOTUS to 13 seats. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

I’ve been worried about this for months too. One question, couldn’t Dems refuse to attend the Senate and without a quorum, deny any vote until Biden is in office? AdLib 2 hours ago

Murph–I have no doubt that the GOP is going to do just that. Maybe, just maybe, though, those senators from the MJ article will have a twinge of conscience. Nah, we’re talking about repubs here. Is there any way Dems can hold up the process? Ted Cruz on the SCOTUS? UGH! glenn 2 hours ago

Ad, can they do that? HOw many Dem Senators has Putin got the dirty on? pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

51 senators is a quoum MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

Ad–That’s an interesting way for Dems to muck up the process. The question is, will they do it? glenn 2 hours ago

Murph – I thought it was 60? AdLib 2 hours ago

Shouldn’t it be 60 for a SCOTUS appointment? pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

OOps, was typing when Murph answered. So, if 51 is a quorum, then Dems are screwed, right? We have 53 R senators, right? glenn 2 hours ago

https://www.senate.gov/reference/glossary_term/quorum.htm#:~:text=The%20Constitution%20requires%20a%20majority,call%20vote%20or%20quorum%20call. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

Shit! pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

This is really making my brain and my heart hurt. glenn 2 hours ago

Murph – Then we need to get at least 4 Repub Senatoors infected with COVID on a rolling basis. AdLib 2 hours ago

And….not attending would also grind all government to a stop….and the Dems would have the blame. MurphTheSurf3 2 hours ago

What is sickening is the obscene haste which McConnell acted to confirm there could be a vote pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

So, Dems will now have more support to expand the SCOTUS to 13 members after 2 were cheated onnt the court. AdLib 2 hours ago

The damn turtle must be chortling with glee! glenn 2 hours ago

I have never wished more nasties on anyone than McConnell, even more than WhatsHisName. pinkpantheroz 2 hours ago

You see what a sick monster McConnell is, gleefully announcing right away he will hold a voote to fill her seat. Repubs are flat out monsters. AdLib an hour ago

Ad–Hopefully, we can expand SCOTUS. glenn an hour ago

He is a sick, evil, person. glenn an hour ago

He had it all ready to go before RBG had passed. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Biden and a Dem Senate need to admit that McConnell and Repubs have broken the courts and engage in a reformation of the courts. Expand lower courts to dilute the unqualified Trumpers and the SCOTUS to 13 to give Dems the majority they should have had. AdLib an hour ago

Mcconnell’s behavior tonight is the cap on the case: The GOP are, as a party, every bit as awful at the one they call their leader. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

You know, if I were a right winger, I’d be onto a conspiracy theory right about now. The theory being that the RTLB announced his new SCOTUS picks a few days ago, and isn’t it convenient that RBG died within days of that announcement? Hmmm, did the RTLB have her killed? glenn an hour ago

I think Trump and McConnell foud out weeks ago that she was dying. It was very suspicious that Trump came out this week with a SCOTUS list out of thin air. He knew. AdLib an hour ago

I bet the bastards all knew and just couldn’t help themselves gloat pinkpantheroz an hour ago

I’m just wondering if Dems have the chutzpah to engage in a reformation of the court system. Especially given that repubs would pull out all the stops to prevent it. glenn an hour ago

glenn – You beat me to it! I don’t think it’s a conspiracy theory. Nina Totenberg was just on Rachel and said she’s known for a couple of weeks that RBG was dying. AdLib an hour ago

Ad–Great minds think alike! glenn an hour ago

Ad…I agree. He knew. They knew. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Pelosi has ordered the Capital flags to half staff. Has It ordered the rest? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

BTW, I’m not on the twitter machine, but has anyone on the repub side sent out condolences to RBG’s family? glenn an hour ago

PPO – That would be something they were watching closely. Don’t think it would be easy to keep a secret in DC that RBG was dying. AdLib an hour ago

Not that I’ve seen, glenn pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad–Oh I agree they knew. I’m just saying that right wingers would have made a conspiracy theory out of all those coincidences immediately. Think of Glenn Beck’s chalkboard! glenn an hour ago

PPO–Of course not. The turtle was so quick on announcing the vote; but couldn’t be bothered to offer condolences. I really do hate those evil bastards! glenn an hour ago

glenn – Unless Dems want to be voted out in primaries, with a SCOTUS that will end abortion, civil rights, voting rights, on and on, they better reform the courts or we’ll elect Dems in 2022 who will. AdLib an hour ago

Ad–I hope so. glenn an hour ago

I’m sorry folks. I don’t like the USA just now. The ugliest I’ve ever seen. Hopefully things will start to brighten up in November pinkpantheroz an hour ago

So, what do you thik Trump will do on Election Night when it’s clear he’s lost? AdLib an hour ago

I’m sorry I have to go now, guys. My nephew passed away suddenly yesterday, and my sister is on the phone. I need to talk to her. I’ll check out the rest of the conversation tomorrow on the archives. G’night guys. Take care. glenn an hour ago

Declare the vote null and void. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad…elect dems in 2022? Really? Wait until next year? It is now or never (or at least a very, very, very long time from now. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Sorry glenn. Condolences to all. Take care pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Sorry to hear this, glenn. Take care. AdLib an hour ago

Murph – My point is, any Dems who don’t support reforming the courts becomes an enemy of most of us and will be voted out. Dems need to come together and take the big steps needed to repair all this ongoing damage. Baby steps are not wanted. AdLib an hour ago

Well, it seems that fires out in Ca and Oregon coincide with a light going out in DC. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – Well said. AdLib an hour ago

Ad, but up until a few hours ago, the GOP was being written off as dead in the water after the election. Won’t thisadd a few more nails in ther coffin? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Each day that goes by nly makes it clearer that this election is about good vs. evil…annd about 40% of Americans prefer evil. AdLib an hour ago

Ad…you presume that there will still be that opporunity in 2022. After what I have witnessed in the last year, I think it is possible, even plausible that we will son have on party rule. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

PPO – Did you see the video of the turnout today for early voting in VA? Massive, hundreds instead of the usual dozen. And all wearing masks, these weren’t Trumpers. I think turnoout for Dems will be bigger than predicted, especially with RBG dyiing and McConnell drooling at replacing her the night she died. AdLib an hour ago

Will lindsay Graham have the balls to prevent a vote? I doubt it. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Yes, Ad. I saw that. Now who takes care of all those votes, or are they counted right away? pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Murph – I’m concerned about what happens on Election Day, what evil Trump may unleash. But I thiik it will be far harder for Trump to succeed i a coup than for Biden to win the election by a strng margin and fend off his madness. AdLib an hour ago

It beats me how McConnell is so popular in Ky, yet the State rates lowest in almost every facet of life. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – It’s different for each state. Most of the time, they start counting them before Election Day. AdLib an hour ago

Ad, hopefully they won’t be ‘lost’ somewhere. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – Ketucky is one of the poorest educated states and very white, I think those are big factors. You can’t be too bright to vote for Moscow Mitch. Also, I think there is a corrupt political machinne in KY that protects McConnell. AdLib an hour ago

Sigh pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – BTW, I understand your feelings about the US right now but keep in mind, the majority of Americans are just as disgusted as you. Russians and Comey helped install Trump, he is NOT the choice of the majority. We’re tryig to fix that in 6 weeks. AdLib an hour ago

In the end, I think Trump and Senate Repubs are thrown out of power ad while so much needs to be fixed, the fixes can be far more Progressive than before Trump. AdLib an hour ago

Hi all! Hey Murph – nice to see you. PPO and Ad lovely to be here with you. choicelady an hour ago

Hey CL! Great to see you on quite a rough day. AdLib an hour ago

Ad, yes, of course, but it is so fucking depressing to see the once mighty US Congress trodden under by a mob boss and his family, with the assistance of the Senate to the extent that hundereds of pieces of legislation sit untouched, corruption of immeasurable amounts happens daily, and nothing is being done, or even can be done about it. I have the shits big time!! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

OMG yes. Not just the sad news but a lot of local crap on top of it. Can we have a Friday do over? choicelady an hour ago

Hi cl, sorry about my rant pinkpantheroz an hour ago

PPO – RANT AWAY! We all are. choicelady an hour ago

Vale, Notorious RBG pinkpantheroz an hour ago

While I agree iwth AdLib about future possibilities, the sheer corruption of what is about to come is disgusting. choicelady an hour ago

PPO – So much about the US goverment functioning was about respect for its democracy and the rule of law. The Honor System. It wasn’t desiged for a ruthless, psycho to be in the WH and the Senate. The Founders never imagined this could happen. AdLib an hour ago

Vale! Thank you, PPO – she was a fave. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ8JQGpsi4A

The guy in the orange shirt is my BIL who made this. We are all weeping because, well, we wanted her to hang on. Dammit. choicelady an hour ago

Ad, yes, that is the saddest feature of this. When a politician was found wanting, they used to resign and another elected. NOw they bluff it out and challenge anyone to oust them. Sickening pinkpantheroz an hour ago

CL – This is Putin’s fantasy coming true. Trump will try to start a civil war to hold onto power unless Dems prepare both strategically and forcefully. AdLib an hour ago

Ad – he can raise up the RW. He cannot control our military or National Guard. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Gen. Milley, has made it clear to ALL branches: obey the Constitution not a man. Donnie is fucked. choicelady an hour ago

I sincerely hope that the FBI and DOJ are quietly getting the ducks into line for mass indictments soon, including Barr! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Dems have the military, the Guard, and the FBI on our side. I work with this stuff. It’s righteous. choicelady an hour ago

I think it’s hard for principled people like the founders to imagine the depths of evil that corrupt people could commit. But with Biden inn the WH, we need to pass a bunch of laws to prevent this kind of madness from happeniing in the future. AdLib an hour ago

Took the military long enough to finally see what trump thinks of them. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad……idiocracy……the triumph of the idiots……2016…..I am deeply worried…….. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

PPO – do not count on it happening until after the election, but then it WILL happen. Biden said he will not stand in the way. choicelady an hour ago

I read one tweet, don’t know if it’s correct, that if Dems impeach Barr, impeachment would take priority over filling the SCOTUS seat ad Dems could kill two birds with one stone. AdLib an hour ago

Murph – I’m worried but not as much as a month ago. ‘ choicelady an hour ago

We need Pence neutered ( both ways!) asap to avoid pardons. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Ad – but Dems can’t carry an impeachment alone before Jan. And Trump MAY try to rush the SCOTUS now. We don’t know. choicelady an hour ago

CL – Yes, I knoow that in the end, Dems will also have US Democracy oon their side vs. a fascist coup. AdLib an hour ago

PPO – Pence is likely to be indicted and his pardon invalidated. choicelady an hour ago

We can only pray, CL! pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Choice….there will be a Trump justice on the court to replace RBG..plenty of time. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Ad – we are already seeing droves of people out to create change. The line to vote in VA was almost a mile long. We are NOT taking this lightly! choicelady an hour ago

Well, folks, Gotta go. Lockdown here being eased a bit more. Good figures this week take care all. pinkpantheroz an hour ago

Murph – I think it’s pretty clear now, Trump is going to lose the election. He’s not running against Biden, he’s running against the election. Against democracy. AdLib an hour ago

CL…you assume that those voters were there to vote for Biden. I amnot so sure. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Murph – that may be. And then CONGRESS can expand the SCOTUS and appoint two new justices., FDR came a cropper doing it unilaterally. Congress is ready. choicelady an hour ago

See ya PPO! Hi to Fergie! AdLib an hour ago

Murph – I am sure they were there for Biden. They were interviewed.\ choicelady an hour ago

Oh – PPO left and I missed him! choicelady an hour ago

Murph, Here’s how I know the VA voters were mostly Dems…they were wearing masks, patient and good natured. How many Repubs do that? AdLib an hour ago

Ad…..I agree…..he is running against Democracy but as the last four years have proven our democracy is not very good at self defense. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Choice…good point. Ad…good point…. All that I hope for is an enraged public. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

CL – Yes, expanding the SCOTUS now will not be the outrageous thing it might have been seen as. After all the Repubs have done to break the courts, they don’t have a leg to stand on and should be rightly ignored. AdLib an hour ago

Murph – I think we are VERY good at self defense. Look at the threats – mass deportations, ICE etc. in every city, killing ACA, killing SS and Medicare, building massive industry, moving to do investigations of us w no warrants, on and on – and NONE OF IT has actually come to pass. Deportations? Two place, no more. ICE/Blackwater everywhere? Portland and the MOMS beat their ass. No more cities. Nothing this asshole has done OTHER THAN kids in cages has come to pass. Why? We STOPPED him. choicelady an hour ago

If the WH, House and Senate fall Dem’s way….then the stables need to be cleansed…..what does that look like? MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Ad – with you on ignoring the GOP 2021 on. Mitch is mewing that the Dems should be prepared to compromise with them. I say bury them, sow salt on the ground. choicelady an hour ago

Murph – What gives me more confidence is that I think turnout will be bigger than expected fr Biden, as the 2018 Dem turnout was but more so. Trump will try to blow up the country to stay in power but with a convincing win by Biden, Trump won’t have people supporting him. He’ll sue, he’ll try dirty tricks but Biden has a ton of monney to fight back too (and Bloomberg’s money). Trump will be seen as the madman who lost, ot righteous by a majority of Americans and the courts. AdLib an hour ago

RULE OF LAW, Murph – and new ones to make sure these things cannot easily happen again. choicelady an hour ago

CL – Very good points! Trump has been thwarted again and again…as he was again today with the court ruling that the USPS was being used to harm voters and the judge statng that the cutbacks must all be reversed. AdLib an hour ago

Never underestimate the role of Gen. Milley and the military. In 1974 Nixon tried to start a war to deflect from Impeachment. The military told him NO. Milley told Trump NO. They will not make war on Americans. choicelady an hour ago

Ad – yes he has. We are not as weak as we fear. He’s by no means as strong as he demands. choicelady an hour ago

Murph – I thinnk Dems should form multiple commissions, a Trump Crimes commission, a court reform commission, a COVID commission, a civil rights/policing commission and an economic/stimulus commission. COngress can be fixing things in the meantime but so much needs to be addressed, we need smart strategies for all of these big lifts. AdLib an hour ago

CL….your arguments are good. I look at the overall trend which is one of more and more corruption, in ever widening circles with the judiciary bastardized by judges crammed through the system……then all that has been stopped to date…..we get redos on all of it and this time around? The nation has come painfully close to the edge before and it has not been the systems that have saved us but people…..the three cases I often cite are George Washington (pre constitution), Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt. Do we have such a person or persons in the wings. MurphTheSurf3 an hour ago

Actually while all those Great Men saved us, yes, it was on the basis of the LAW. And that’s what I rely on now. choicelady 44 minutes ago

BRB choicelady 44 minutes ago

CL – After Moscow Mitch being so monstrous tonight, it should be game over. Ignore the Repubs, treat them like yesterday’s garbage every time they whine about being in the minority in The Senate. Screw them, we have big things to do. And definitely tell them to shut it if they mention “defecit”. AdLib 44 minutes ago

CL – Milley and many of the gennerals Trump has demeaned, along with all the military he calls “losers” and “suckers”, they will not protect hiim nor let him overthrow our democracy. AdLib 43 minutes ago

Murph – I don’t know that we have that Great Man/Woman to step in like Lincoln or FDR but I do think we have a amazing and deep bench, very talented players who together, could kick some serious ass. AdLib 41 minutes ago

CL….in every case, these people stepped will outside of the law and outside of practice……many have argued that much of what they did was contra-constitutional. MurphTheSurf3 40 minutes ago

Sometimes, the sports team with the one amazing player wins the game. Other times, it’s a great overall team that wins the championship. I think we have the latter. AdLib 40 minutes ago

Ad…I endorse that idea fully….if we take the Senate….treat them as they have treated Dems. MurphTheSurf3 39 minutes ago

Ad – Milley’s action predated that revelation. Milley acted on the basis of law and Constitution alone. He sent the ACTICE duty troops home to Fort Bragg NC. He disarmed the Guard. He then sent the directive to all branches reminding them they obey ONLY the Constitution. Trump cannot nationalize the Guard without Congress. He cannot make war on us. The states can mobilize the guard to go after the self styled militias . We are not powerless. choicelady 39 minutes ago

Murph – I’m all for stomping the GOP into the ground. choicelady 39 minutes ago

Warren, Schiff, Katie Porter, Sally Yates, on and on, so many strong Dems oout there to take charge of departments and right the ship. AdLib 38 minutes ago

Ad…..the problems with the constitution and its saving grace is that great men, or horrifying men have the potential to turn the whole thing on its head because the structure of government is innately imbalanced. MurphTheSurf3 38 minutes ago

Murph – so far we have actually prevailed with the courts, with the military, with the people. choicelady 37 minutes ago

CL – That bodes well as does Milley’s comment about the military staying out of the election. He was saying, “Trump can’t use us to hold onto power.” But if Trump tries to stage a coup? I think Milley and the other generals will take him down. And they have the most powerful fighting force and weapons, not Trump’s and Barr’s secret police. AdLib 36 minutes ago

CL….the courts are being packed……and now we are likely to have a packed SCOTUS……as to the people….who know so little and are so easily distracted…..the military will not act for either side….I do hope I am wrong about all of this……but I was very pessimistic in 2016 and I am more so now….IF COVID cannot open the eyes of the blinded then what can… MurphTheSurf3 35 minutes ago

Murph – I’d suggest that most other cuntries, in a similar situation, would have a harder time stopping a tyrant overthrowing their democracy. Someone said that only 1 in 5 countries in a declining democracy are able to hold off tyranny. I think the U.S. is that 1. AdLib 34 minutes ago

countries, sorry about that! AdLib 34 minutes ago

Ad…..we are about to be tested…. MurphTheSurf3 33 minutes ago

We are not where we were in 2016. We are vastly more prepared, we are ready to fight and are on solid ground. The military is differentiated, and it WILL follow the Governors. Likely problems in Blue states, so they will fight FOR us at the Governors’ directions. Whatever support Trump had from the military is GONE. It’s now 67% t 33% for Biden. Yes, we are being tested. And we will prevail. choicelady 32 minutes ago

I hope that the future will not look back on this time in our history and say that “we were weighed; we were measured; and we were found wanting.” MurphTheSurf3 32 minutes ago

Murph – I think you’re looking in the wronng direction for victory. None of the Trump cultists should be expected to jump the fence. Doesn’t matter if his base stays with him, they’re only 40% or so of voters. Biden gains voters from suburbs, moderates, young Progressives who didn’t vote in 2016. Biden and Dems have lots of room to grow. Trump doesn’t. Many more ex-Trumpers joining Biden, virtually none going in the other direction. AdLib 31 minutes ago

CL…..I admire your sense of hope, and purpose coupled with your zeal…..I do MurphTheSurf3 31 minutes ago

Remember one thing – we are a COMMON LAW country where we make change through the courts. Yes, it’s harder now. No it’s not impossible. We don’t have armed rebellions as they do in Roman Code countries where all law is made by legislatures and ratified by same. And it matters. choicelady 31 minutes ago

Ad – the few “never Biden” people turn out to be mostly bots. choicelady 30 minutes ago

Murph – Yes, we’re going to be tested like never before in history. But look at the flip side, how Trump has tried to crush us and we’re the ones on top now. We will be in 6 weeks too. AdLib 30 minutes ago

Ad…..how much room does Trump need to throw the election his way…or more importantly, how much room do his co-conspirators need. MurphTheSurf3 30 minutes ago

Murph – I hold out hope because of YOU. You have made a difference in your backwoods community. We see it in cities, but we know from you that it’s there. Perfect? HELL NO, but better. And every bit of “better” matters. choicelady 29 minutes ago

CL – And with a unitary Dem government in DC, the courrts and SCOTUS can be enlarged to dilute the Trump influence. And if Dems also cement in Vote By Mail, voter protectionns from suppression, bring in DC and PR as states, it could be a very loong time until Repubs eve have a prayer of unitary control, they’d have to change once all Americans can vote fairly. AdLib 28 minutes ago

Murph – the states with hackable machines are already his. Already red. One exception – Florida. Yes, it’s red, but they can screw the pooch if people move to Biden. That said, the news today from all OTHER swing states is very solid. choicelady 28 minutes ago

CL….I am not confident in any of this……our lack of national standards for voter rights….our antiquated electoral college…..the ability of the central government to clog up the works and bog everything down…….Gore Won. Bush Lost. It did not matter. MurphTheSurf3 28 minutes ago

That was then. This is now. We aren’t as trusting, hapless, and naive as even four years ago. choicelady 27 minutes ago

Well….I am going to be working on a Get Out the Vote Team in Wisconsin for a month….that is what I can do….and I have increased my contributions…….. MurphTheSurf3 26 minutes ago

Murph – Here’s a very low bar for Biden. If he just flips AZ and gets that section of NE that Dems have before Hillary, just keeping the states Hillary won, he wins. He could lose MI, WI, PA, FL, NC and still win. But He will do far better than that. Trump may scream “FAKE VOTES” but states will certify the elections i enough states for Biden to win. And BTW, I thinnk Biden wins all those states I mentioned except maybe FL which I think is corrupt. AdLib 25 minutes ago

HOORAY!!!! WI had so much voter fraud in 2016 that knowing you’re on it is making me REALLY happy! choicelady 25 minutes ago

Ad – I’m with you on all of this, yes. choicelady 24 minutes ago

I refuse to give up. We will prevail. choicelady 23 minutes ago

Murph – As I mentioned, even if Russia and Trump steal elections in the electronic voting states, red-run states, so many Dem run states without those awful machines. AND…all states will have record mail in voting which can’t be corrupted electronically (except TX of course). So even giving up electoral fraud to Trump, he can’t win AZ, MI, PA and others by cheatinng. AdLib 22 minutes ago

Ad….it is going to take a lot more than a narrow win after all the ballots are counted because I believe that the GOP will have the edge on Election Night since they will vote in greater numbers on that day whereas many more dems will vote in ways that will delay their votes being counted…….the momentum of a seeeming victory that nights gives the Trump Conspiracy the edge. MurphTheSurf3 22 minutes ago

Murph – Here’s why I don’t buy into the nghtmare scenario of Trump being ahead on Election Night, because Trump has sabotaged himself on this. First, his meddling with the USPS has Dems early voting and ropping ballots off at drop boxes because they thinnk he’s messed up the mail. Those votes are counnted before or on election night. AdLib 20 minutes ago

CL….the group I am going with are all Obama people from 2008…..old guard….several attorneys……a couple of retired police and military…..a bunch of political hacks like me……we will be training and then coordinating. MurphTheSurf3 20 minutes ago

LOTS of friends who live in states where paper ballots are not counted until AFTER the polls close are risking it all and standing in line. I say that as someone who is old enough to be worried about COVID and still support them wholeheartedly. The outpouring of support for voters – water, food, etc. – is powerful. We are not going gentle into this good night. choicelady 19 minutes ago

Ad….there are signs that what you say is so…..I hope it is enought. MurphTheSurf3 19 minutes ago

MURPH – YES!!!!!!! choicelady 19 minutes ago

And again, the “narrow win” scenario is not vulnerable when Bden wins states by big margins and clearly. Even if Biden wins by 1 electoral vote, if he wins in AZ by 6%, not a narrow win. IOW, as long as Biden wins by good margins in enough states to get to 270, it doesn’t matter if he wins by a little in states that put him well abve that. AdLib 18 minutes ago

Murph – the overall numbers are powerful for Biden and excellent in swing states. I’m no longer that worried. choicelady 18 minutes ago

I have generally stopped chatting in the chat spaces on line now. That time is being turned over to phone bank work. MurphTheSurf3 18 minutes ago

Very cool, Murph! AdLib 17 minutes ago

Good, Murph . Keep doing what you’re doing. I’m trying to GOTV here where we’re not hugely at risk, but – all hands on deck! choicelady 17 minutes ago

My choice is made for me….I live in a red ocean (save for Illinois which is safe) so Wi is the logical spot. I have friends there who will be housing me and two others. MurphTheSurf3 15 minutes ago

My point above is this, Trump will have n legit grounds to contest Biden’s win when he wins 270 in states with big margins. Yes, Trump can still contest but all he can whine about is some vague BS that the voting was corrupt. No proof and not enough votes to be squeezed out in a recount to help him. All the other states Biden wins by smaller margiins are just gravy. AdLib 15 minutes ago

Murph – BTW, my friend has taken your advice. Sort of. But she gets it, thank you. choicelady 15 minutes ago

I do’t know what to make of the polling numbers in WI, most polls show Biden with a good lead, a few show it more narrow. Still, Trump has NEVER polled ahead in any rust belt swing state. AdLib 14 minutes ago

But Ad…what if the Scotus is the fail safe……an insurance policy. MurphTheSurf3 14 minutes ago

Murph – sounds actually like fun. One should have pleasure out of the hard work you do. Glad you’re doing it! choicelady 14 minutes ago

CL….good for your friend…we can chat about this if that suits you. MurphTheSurf3 13 minutes ago

Murph – Even with a new SCOTUS conservative, I don’t see a path for them to overturn BOTH the pop and EC votes. choicelady 13 minutes ago

Murph – What do you mean? In a legal challenge by Trump? As much as they may want to cheat for him, he still would have no grouds to challenge Biden winning if he won convincingly in states that gave him 270. What legal argument could he make ad prove? AdLib 12 minutes ago

CL…all they have to have is the support of that court….in the long run…. MurphTheSurf3 12 minutes ago

No – we don’t have to discuss her until I hear back on her home hunt. She’s stepping up and taking control now I[‘ve found her places to call. choicelady 12 minutes ago

Ad….you name another reason for our time there. MurphTheSurf3 12 minutes ago

Ad and CL…..leaving my farm for nearly all of October is no easy thing to do but it is necessary. MurphTheSurf3 11 minutes ago

CL…sounds good. I am glad she is taking the reins. MurphTheSurf3 11 minutes ago

Murph – I think not. I think if states certify their elections and the previous SCOTUS rule on “no rogue electors” is followed, even a Cruz or Cotton won’t have the power to overturn it. If they did there WOULD be rebellion, and the Guard etc. would not harm us. choicelady 11 minutes ago

Murph – where in WI are to be? choicelady 11 minutes ago

Murph – If the only legal theory Trump has is, “I think it’s a fraud!”, it’s not going to give the judges who support him anything to hang a decision on. To overturn an election, there would have to be absolute evidennce that could at least be interpretted as justifying it. There won’t be. AdLib 10 minutes ago

“…are YOU to be?” choicelady 10 minutes ago

Ad……my faith in the legal system right now is at low tide esp. with DOJ in the hands of jacobins. MurphTheSurf3 10 minutes ago

Murph – I seriously think there would be massive rebellion and THEY KNOW IT. They know they have no back up. None. choicelady 9 minutes ago

CL….we will be working in Milwaukee County and its collar counties….we need massive turnout. MurphTheSurf3 9 minutes ago

Well gang….all two of you…..time for me to steal away into the night….and perhaps I will be happier in the days ahead but for right now I am in deep distress. MurphTheSurf3 8 minutes ago

Murph – AMEN! But have someone keep an eye on SE WI precincts. In 2016 they had more Trump votes than they had registered voters. Corruption abounds there. choicelady 8 minutes ago

Murph – I’m not big on the RW SCOTUS judges but in 2000, it was stolen for Bush because Gore needed FL to win and they weaseled their way into stopping a recount. In a case where a candidate wins the popular and electoral vote, they can’t act, othing is in flux, the election has been decided. AdLib 8 minutes ago

Murph – I am as well. Good night! Have a great weekend, and Ad, you the same. I’m off to read a new mystery novel and pretend life is good. See you I hope next week! choicelady 7 minutes ago

Murph – I know, it was a punch in the gut to read the alert that RBG was dead. But we will keep on punchinng as she always did, we are winning, we will win. AdLib 7 minutes ago

Ad…never say never…they figured out how to steal in 2000…20 years later the machinery of deception is much more developed. MurphTheSurf3 6 minutes ago

Ad….I was surprised by RBG’s death. I expected it…..and my reaction was well formed weeks back. MurphTheSurf3 6 minutes ago

Not surprised! MurphTheSurf3 5 minutes ago

Well..again, 2000 was stolen because it wasn’t decided on Election Night. If it is this time, no way for SCOTUS to reverse an election. AdLib 5 minutes ago

Yes, I was the same way. The last alert I got that she was back in the hospiital again made me feel more dread. AdLib 4 minutes ago

Ad….that last comment is the one that makes the most sense to me and is a summary of your argument…a strong finish by Biden and a clear cut win on Election Night will make it hard for Trump to contest the results….BUT what if Trump is on top or nearly so on that night? Therein lies my worry. MurphTheSurf3 3 minutes ago

I think it will be very ugly if Trump is leading in states that have a tonn of mail in votes uncounted but I think Biden will win in enough states on Election Night that will give him the win or way ahead of Trump that we wn’t have to deal with that scenario. As I said, Biden only has to be ahead or win iin AZ and that NE section. Or WI, MI, PA, NC, FL, too many ways for Biden to do it. AdLib a minute ago

Well….fingers and toes crossed….. MurphTheSurf3 a few seconds ago

Same here! AdLib a few seconds ago

Good night. Soldier on! MurphTheSurf3 in a few seconds

Night pal! Rock on! AdLib in a few seconds
