Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then!

Hey PPO!
AdLib an hour ago
hey ad. See u soon
pinkpantheroz
See you then!
AdLib an hour ago
Congrats to Schiff for sticking it to the GOP
pinkpantheroz
Yes, he really turned the tide against the BS Barr tried to shove on the public.
AdLib an hour ago
Definitely NOT OK!
pinkpantheroz
And wouldn’t yield at the end! Payback time, ReThugs!
pinkpantheroz
Dems will be vindicated in the end, once the full report is forced out and the SDNY and NY state prosecutions of Trump and his crime family are completed.
AdLib an hour ago
Great symbolic phrase, “No, I will not yield.” That’s the steel in the spine Dems need, also in their 2020 nom.
AdLib an hour ago
Can’t wait for Mueller to testify and fill in any gaps Trumpanistas try to paper over
pinkpantheroz
They may need a subpoena to have Mueller testify if Barr tries to block him but I think they’ll make it happen.
AdLib an hour ago
And Barr lamely offered to testify but from his nomination hearing, it’s clear that he’ll be evasive and non-responsive so that will likely be a waste of time.
AdLib an hour ago
Dems need to go to judges directly to get them to release all the grand jury evidence whoch should tell the whole story anyway.
AdLib an hour ago
which
AdLib an hour ago
500 pages condensed to 4 ? Thats on the level of the Loaves and Fishes tale!
pinkpantheroz
4 pages and not one complete quoted sentence in them, just cherry-picked fragments. Clearly, Barr is hiding a lot and I doubt his redacted version will allow much to be revealed about Trump’s criminality.
AdLib an hour ago
This appears so orchestrated. It is a coverup, we will see that when Dems finally get their hands on the evidence or a full version of Mueller’s report…let alone his testimony.
AdLib an hour ago
Of course it is, and any delay allows the WH to trumpet their mantras.
pinkpantheroz
And the gall of Repubs on the intelligence committee calling for Schiff to resign…after Nunes betrayed his oath of office and conspired with Trump to hide his collusion with Russia. It’s a farce.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad, the trouble is that farce is becoming the default position on everything. Trump needs to go – the sooner the better.
pinkpantheroz
But the cool thing is, the polls show that the declaration by Barr hasn’t changed minds. Trump’s cult is of course still behind him but a majority, like 57%, still think Trump colluded.
AdLib an hour ago
Hey Murph!
AdLib an hour ago
Hiya Murph!
pinkpantheroz
If Barr’s propaganda attempt didn’t sway a majority to believe Trump is onnocent, nothing will. Trump is going down in 2020.
AdLib an hour ago
I’d love to be in the court with Alex Jones right now! HE must be melting away.
pinkpantheroz
innocent
AdLib an hour ago
Hello you guys! Just read through your dialogue. Ditto.
MurphTheSurf3
But 2020 will mean Dems have to fix all the crap instigated by the GOP. Again!
pinkpantheroz
Jones is going down, think about all the RWs who have been going down. O’Reilly, Pirro, Carlson, Ailes is dead, when Dems take over government, Repubs will be at half-strength.
AdLib an hour ago
A neighbor. A conservative. A Marine Vet (25 years in uniform, three battle zones) has always been quiet about Trump. Today he told me that he has decided to refer to him from now on as Prez Bone Spur.
MurphTheSurf3
Is there no way to banish McConnell? He is the most evil man I have ever known.
pinkpantheroz
PPO – Unfortunately, just like Obama had to save the US economy, the next Dem Pres will spend a lot of time just undoing the diasasters Trump has caused.
AdLib an hour ago
Murph – Do you think that he represents other Trump voters?
AdLib an hour ago
Murph, it is taking way too long for the realization about PBS to sink in. Hence the level of continuing cult following. Wait till their Medical cover vanishes!
pinkpantheroz
McConnell needs so badly to be defeated next year and thrown on history’s trash heap as the most destructive and anti-American Majority Leader in US history.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad…he was pissed about how DT referred to McCain. What set this off was the PREZ’s salute of Vietnam War Vets….hard to say.
MurphTheSurf3
PPO – I’m not counting on turning around any Trump cultists, just hoping that the onslaught of criminal and civil cases against him will lower some of their enthusiasm.
AdLib an hour ago
He is just so smug……I cannot recall who this was done to but there was a Majority leader who was so detested that whenever he spoke every member of the opposing party stood and turned their backs on him.
MurphTheSurf3
Not to mention the likely recession that’s coming, Trump would lose his one phony but effective talking point.
AdLib an hour ago
Ad, maybe that will have to be sufficient. He will always have deluded fans.
pinkpantheroz
Murph – McCarthy
pinkpantheroz
Murph – It’s disappointing that the only thing that connects with Trump supporters is when his evil hits close to home but at least some Repubs do reconsider their views on him when he does such disgusting things.
AdLib an hour ago
One of my other neighbors asked me if I had changed my mind about Trump based on the Mueller report. I told him that when I could see it I would reply to him. He point to the Barr summary. I laughed. I don’t trust Barr and the fact that he would be willing to condense a 400 page report to 4 simply reinforces my lack of trust.
MurphTheSurf3
Yes, Murph, laughable.
pinkpantheroz
Ad….and even when his evil hits close to home they have to get through their factual miasma that draws them toward the everlasting meme: It was the dems that did this.
MurphTheSurf3
PPO – It will have to be. Trump has around 38% or so of voters as cult followers, maybe up to 7% or so of voters who keep changing their minds about him…but in any case, a minority. Which I think can only be smaller in 2020 than it was in 2016. He’s alienated many who voted for him as an unknown commodity.
AdLib an hour ago
Murph, maybe the fact that Barr could only glean 4 pages of ‘good’ from that sized report speaks volumes in itself?
pinkpantheroz
PPO….lest we forget that minority won him the election in 2016……
MurphTheSurf3
PPO…that is what I think.
MurphTheSurf3
right Murph – we need to be very careful about the college vote spread.
pinkpantheroz
Murph – And as I mentioned before, the fact that Barr had to cherry pick partial sentences, not one complete sentence from Mueller’s report, makes me think there is plenty of bad news for Trump in the full report. And yes, no one has read the full report except Trump people so we don’t know any facts yet.
AdLib 43 minutes ago
Mueller, has, Ad!
pinkpantheroz
And Mueller is still going to work every day. I wonder what that might mean?
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Yes, the genuine nature of cultism that Trump followers are under is mostly impenetrable.
AdLib 41 minutes ago
Grand Jury has not yet been disbanded, so ongoing investigation into, no doubt, real Estate fraud, money laundering and the other crimes overshadowed by the Russian Collusion angle.
pinkpantheroz
Murph – But we should also not forget that the states that gave Trump enough electoral votes went big time for Dems in 2018.
AdLib 40 minutes ago
I had a guy at a UPS office tell me that he liked Trump because Trump understands people like him, speaks for them and works for them. A clerk at a UPS office……the innocuous looking follower.
MurphTheSurf3
I think between the Grand Juries, the Roger Stone case, the SDNY cases against Don Jr. and Trump and the State of NY cases against the Trump crime family, Trump is not clear of any danger.
AdLib 39 minutes ago
And, yes there is the grand jury…..good point PPO
MurphTheSurf3
The Mueller investigation was just one of about 17 investigations that are ongoing, 16 of 17 still going!
AdLib 38 minutes ago
Ad…my worry is that most of the energy in the GOP is around Trump and when it is his ass on the line the faithful will rise in ways that 2017 did not demonstrate.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph, he can’t tell the difference between Trump really being for the little guy, or being conned up the gazoo
pinkpantheroz
The clerk look alert but I had an image of him as a blank eyed, stone faced, zealot.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – I recently read an article in Psychology Today, that was from the 2016 campaign days, which smartly offered a theory on his cultists. To them, Trump represents the outcast/loser who somehow triumphs as he fights against all the representatives of society. They root for him because they feel like losers too who are victims of the society around them. Selfish jerks IMO, only thinking of their own insecurities. And Trump couldn’t reflect insecurity anymore than he does.
AdLib 35 minutes ago
Murph, we must be very mindful that the WH can invent national emergencies any time and run a terrorism campaign as distractions. The GOP LIKES a frightened USA! plays into their Military/Industrial ethos.
pinkpantheroz
AD….and yet Trump is nothing like the victim they identify with……he is no Huey Long…..so the deception has several more layers to it.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – The faithful are a smaller percentage of voters than in 2016. Trump will be hammered through 2020 for all his betrayals and crimes AND for the first time in 4 years, there will be a Dem going toe-to-toe with him who will not have a mountain of baggage and be as negatively viewed as he is.
AdLib 33 minutes ago
PPO…I keep that in mind every day…..all of it points to the foolish centralization of unchecked power in the Executive Branch.
MurphTheSurf3
Loudmouth Noo Yoiker shows Washington how its done.!
pinkpantheroz
Think of all the positives ike healthcare, climate change, standing up against America’s adversaries, that the Dem will be able to pound home along with Trump’s horrible record of failures and cruelty they can speak to.
AdLib 32 minutes ago
Ad, there better be a fresh candidate on the Dems side. Too much baggage still to be sure of defeating trump
pinkpantheroz
Consider the role that QAnon plays in the zealot core….it generates the shielding from truth that is essential to the DT mythos.
MurphTheSurf3
Dems cannot go too negative ( bastards ganging up on our hero!), except to highlight policy, infrastructure, health EPS failings etc. Oh, and Trump Lied!
pinkpantheroz
Trump is trying to slash SS, Medicare and healthcare, he is supporting Nazism/White Nationalism, encouraging a big rise in hate crimes, pollution and cruelty by caging small children. Not a record he can run on to increase his voting base.
AdLib 30 minutes ago
I have a colleague with two PH.D’s– one from Harvard…the other from University of Chicago. A Historical specializing in the classical world fluent in Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic…and he is an avid Trumpster and exponent of Q.
MurphTheSurf3
PPO – But…the public is already cynical about Trump. A big majority see him as a liar and untrustworthy so even a ploy like a war is more likely to backfire and affirm what a monster he is than convince people he is suddenly truthful.
AdLib 28 minutes ago
I know this libtard, commie, socialist, Deep Stater, who says Trump is trying to slash SS, Medicare and healthcare, he is supporting Nazism/White Nationalism, encouraging a big rise in hate crimes, pollution and cruelty by caging small children. What does he think we are…..idiots…
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Yes, we have to include the racist factor as well when it comes to his cultists and their authoritarianism. You saw that video of a Trump supporter saying she wanted him to be our dictator?
AdLib 27 minutes ago
Is there any chance that the USA can retire from the War business? Let’s face it their record sucks!
pinkpantheroz
Korea – Draw
pinkpantheroz
I wonder how many times Trump has watched “Wag the Dog”
MurphTheSurf3
Ad…I did….and in my UK today there are crowds of people saying that Britain needs a Trump.
MurphTheSurf3
PPO – Whoever can win in this really strong field of smart and talented Dem candidates will have proven that they are skilled enough to beat Trump who is an easier opponent to take on.
AdLib 26 minutes ago
Vietnam – loss Grenada – Joke Panama snigger Afghanistan – loss, Iraq ho hum
pinkpantheroz
Murph – Agreed, QAnon is part of the affirming of the alternate reality and conspiracies the deluded need to believe but are they really doing more than Fox News does?
AdLib 25 minutes ago
Ad, yes, but the flood of negative attacks by the PACs and Kochs etc is troublesome
pinkpantheroz
Trump’s declaration that Shiff is a pencil necked geek marks him again as the bully he is….and his crowds love it. Of course he is a fat assed bullshitting idiot.
MurphTheSurf3
Ad…..Q and Fox swim in the same swamp.
MurphTheSurf3
Or is that cesspool.
MurphTheSurf3
How’s that draining going on?
pinkpantheroz
PPO – Indeed, I don’t believe the Dem candidate will be a one-note, “Trump is Evil” candidate. Dems won in 2018 by putting out front their reason, support of healthcare and other important issues while never backing away from stating that Trump divides the country and is causing great harm.
AdLib 23 minutes ago
Way to keep going, Ad.
pinkpantheroz
From the 68 floor Trump Tower the Lord managed his multi-multi billion dollar empire going from success to success. OH…is is 58 stories? Whoops.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – He’s an outlier but just goes to show that even an educated person can be deeply insecure and needy.
AdLib 22 minutes ago
Doesn’t the lobby = 10? Surely!
pinkpantheroz
Murph – Er…yes. Yes I do (think they’re idiots).
AdLib 21 minutes ago
The thing about 2018 is that the core of the Dem success was in the small, “local” elections in the House and in state assemblies….where the candidates could run smaller campaigns appealing to a narrow constituency. Those elections are not strong markers for the big stage events in the Senate, and the Presidency….or even for Governors.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – I heard that but it’s sensationalism the US media loves repeating. We already know how the majority of Brits feel about Trump, remember the protests, Trump balloon and polls showing huge majorities in the UK oppose Trump? That hasn’t changed.
AdLib 19 minutes ago
Someone LIKE Trump is appealing to the crowd that created UKIP….and pushed Brexit through……the strain is there.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Trump’s immature insult of Schiff should embarass every American. Anyone who thinks a POTUS should be so juvenile are embarassments too.
AdLib 18 minutes ago
We just need to keep pounding on the bully’s lies.
pinkpantheroz
Murph – Not true, Dems won Senate and Governorships in red states in 2018 too. They lost some red state Senate seats but not a single blue state seat.
AdLib 16 minutes ago
And the 50,000 (his number) at the Michigan rally will dismiss your assessment as unmanly…..grrrr.
MurphTheSurf3
And it’s very questionable that voter suppression and election tampering may have kept Beto, Abrams and Gillum from winning.
AdLib 15 minutes ago
Ad..which Senate wins are you thinking of? Which governships?
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Remember the old Lincoln quote? Fool me once, shame on you, etc. Polls clearly reflect that many Trump voters in 2016, especially in swing states, see they were fooled and don’t support him. Same in the UK. Yes, the cult members that do support Trump or Brexit may be extremely committed but they are both smaller minorities today than they used to be.
AdLib 13 minutes ago
As one who lives in red mo. I do not see much erosion in the faith of the faithful….that approval rating remains in the 40’s
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Wasn’t it 500,000 at the rally? These types of people are lost to reason and energy should be focused on youth turnout, women (especially with all the anti-abortion laws being passed as in GA) and educated white voters.
AdLib 11 minutes ago
HAs anyone brought up ‘Executive Privilege yet? Isn’t it irrelevant?
pinkpantheroz
BTW, I am totally off Buttigeig now. He has sided with Chick-Fil-A and against boycotting them for their anti-LGBT garbage but especially, he dissed the “coastal” Dems for not understanding the rural Trump voters. Screw him.
AdLib 10 minutes ago
Ad….well it was the largest crowd that the arena had ever seen……look at the photos….yeah, sure, half a million..why not…as to those other groups….we have got to get key Dem demos to vote and that is no small t ask.
MurphTheSurf3
Exec Priv will be pivotal in trying to block Mueller report material.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Tester won, Dems won Senate in AZ, Gov in KS, etc.
AdLib 9 minutes ago
Buttigeig is glib but was too untried and tested.
MurphTheSurf3
Tester was holding onto his seat as was Kaine. Az I give you but others….?
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – While it’s not great, the fact that Trump isn’t over 50% in a red state like MO, is very encouraging.
AdLib 8 minutes ago
There were three governor turnovers….that I recall.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Laura Kelly won the Gov seat in KS.
AdLib 8 minutes ago
Ad….he is not…but the Dems, generically are way off of that.
MurphTheSurf3
Ad. I gave you that one already…..
MurphTheSurf3
OK, lads and ladettes time to mosey down to the ole’ corral and do the chores. See you next week
pinkpantheroz
And Tester won in a red state. You can say it was re-election but Claire and other Dems lost in red states.
AdLib 7 minutes ago
PPO….you stole the words from my mouth…..time for me to trot off too. But it has been very good. Thanks to you both.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – We did it in 2018, Dems had record turnout and a record win. In 2020, even more will be on the line and those out of power will have even more enthusiasm than those hanging on despite all the madness to Trump.
AdLib 6 minutes ago
Murph – Barr claims Trump told him he won’t claim Exec Priv on the Mueller Report. But once it’s submitted as a legal document, I think like Nixon, such claims would fail in court.
AdLib 5 minutes ago
Murph – Yes, if I was Trump I might nickname him Buttiglib but I won’t mention it again.
AdLib 4 minutes ago
