But the cool thing is, the polls show that the declaration by Barr hasn’t changed minds. Trump’s cult is of course still behind him but a majority, like 57%, still think Trump colluded.

Murph – It’s disappointing that the only thing that connects with Trump supporters is when his evil hits close to home but at least some Repubs do reconsider their views on him when he does such disgusting things.

PPO – It will have to be. Trump has around 38% or so of voters as cult followers, maybe up to 7% or so of voters who keep changing their minds about him…but in any case, a minority. Which I think can only be smaller in 2020 than it was in 2016. He’s alienated many who voted for him as an unknown commodity.

Murph – And as I mentioned before, the fact that Barr had to cherry pick partial sentences, not one complete sentence from Mueller’s report, makes me think there is plenty of bad news for Trump in the full report. And yes, no one has read the full report except Trump people so we don’t know any facts yet.

Murph – I recently read an article in Psychology Today, that was from the 2016 campaign days, which smartly offered a theory on his cultists. To them, Trump represents the outcast/loser who somehow triumphs as he fights against all the representatives of society. They root for him because they feel like losers too who are victims of the society around them. Selfish jerks IMO, only thinking of their own insecurities. And Trump couldn’t reflect insecurity anymore than he does.

Murph – The faithful are a smaller percentage of voters than in 2016. Trump will be hammered through 2020 for all his betrayals and crimes AND for the first time in 4 years, there will be a Dem going toe-to-toe with him who will not have a mountain of baggage and be as negatively viewed as he is.
