Vox Populi, our weekly live chat about the week’s events, begins tonight at 7:00pm PDT. Hope to see you then!

“Trump” : Way to go Crooked Hillary!
Beatlex
Heh! Trump will probably praise the military coup attempt in Turkey, saying, “That’s what we should do here!”
AdLib7 days ago
How are things, Beatlex?
AdLib7 days ago
Getting better Ad,was in a funk for a while(notice I was absent for a while) working through some things.Thx for asking
Beatlex
Yes, you were missed. Glad things are better!
AdLib7 days ago
Quick bite,see you later
Beatlex
See you then!
AdLib7 days ago
Hey Ad–how are you?
glenn
Don’t forget to say “Hi!” or “Donald will get his ComeTrumPence”
AdLib7 days ago
Hey Peeps, Hi!
KillgoreTrout
Hey glenn! Doing well, and you?
AdLib7 days ago
Hey KT? What’s poppin’?
AdLib7 days ago
Donald will get his ComeTrumPence! Or, to use the initials, we need the TP for all the shit we’re slinging!
glenn
Planet POV!
KillgoreTrout
Hey KT–how goes it?
glenn
Lots of white TP!
AdLib7 days ago
Ad–doing well.
glenn
Very well glenn, and you?
KillgoreTrout
Exactly. KT!
AdLib7 days ago
Doing well, KT.
glenn
Glad to hear it!
KillgoreTrout
Just got back from a trip to Michigan–beautiful state, despite their governor!
glenn
What a crazy world! As things get crazy out there, do you think that voters will become more afraid of Trump contributing to global instability? Or want him to tyrannically attack the world on our behalf?
AdLib7 days ago
I think the republican party should just come clean and name themselves The American Neo-Nazi Party.
KillgoreTrout
The Trumpettes want the Big Yam to wipe out all the Muslims!
Ad–I think your firs question will apply to sane people, and your second will apply to all the tp voters! (Wow, could they have given us a better set of initials to work with?)
glenn
oops..first
glenn
America deserves more than a mere Trumpence!
KillgoreTrout
I guess the Outlaw Jersey Whales is out of the picture now!
KillgoreTrout
KT – But I can’t imagine there are anywhere enough voters to vote for Trump’s veiled genocidal assurances.
AdLib7 days ago
KT–good one! Never heard that one before!
glenn
KT – This time, the empty chairs won’t be on stage at the RNC, they’ll be in the audience.
AdLib7 days ago
I can’t either, but it’s that weird 20 or so percent that supported bush, no matter what. Unfortunately, they’ll always be with us.
KillgoreTrout
I think it fits him well, glenn.
KillgoreTrout
KT – Sad but true, we have to admit that about 25% of Americans are total loons.
AdLib7 days ago
KT–they’ve always been with us; we just didn’t get to hear from or about them so much as we do now.
glenn
Agreed, KT–the “title” fits him well. Will he be at the convention along with the newtster?
glenn
Like Carlin once said, “When you’re born, you get a ticket to the freak show, when you’re born in America, you get a front row seat.”
KillgoreTrout
I don’t know, he may be sulking.
KillgoreTrout
Love those Carlin quotes, and it still amazes me how we are still talking about the same things 20-30 years later!
glenn
glenn – True, they’ve been living under our floorboards like cockroaches and Trump has just pulled up the floor and made them confident it’s alright to come out.
AdLib7 days ago
Good point glenn.
KillgoreTrout
KT – Imagine what Carlin would say about Trump and the media for promoting him.
AdLib7 days ago
The roaches no longer scatter when you turn on the light. They seem to crave it now.
KillgoreTrout
KT – Now that is one hell of a quote! Well done!
AdLib7 days ago
Damn, I miss that guy. George would slice them and dice them.
KillgoreTrout
KT–They’ve become immune to the “light”. Now it just feeds them.
glenn
KT – Hey, I wish Jon Stewart was on tv right now slicing Trump apart!
AdLib7 days ago
Carlin’s? Or mine?
KillgoreTrout
Yeah, he’s another one that’s missed.
KillgoreTrout
I’m lovin Sam Bee though. She takes no prisoners.
KillgoreTrout
KT – Your quote, “The roaches no longer scatter when you turn on the light. They seem to crave it now. ” Carlin would applaud that!
AdLib7 days ago
Ah, thanks ad.
KillgoreTrout
Did you all see that Stewart is going to cover the political conventions with Colbert?
glenn
Yes, Sam Bee is brilliant and cutting. She and John Oliver carry on the Stewart tradition best but I miss having Stewart’s sharp wit especially with Trump out there needing to be taken down again and again.
AdLib7 days ago
Wow glenn the GOP convention too? That should be a hoot!
KillgoreTrout
Sam Bee is fantastic!
glenn
glenn – REALLY? No, I didn’t hear about that! Jon Stewart is covering the conventiions for Colbert??? WOW!
AdLib7 days ago
JS loved to satirize Trump.
KillgoreTrout
Yup–he will be kind of like a “correspondent” for Colbert. Colbert will be in NY, and Stewart will be at the conventions.
glenn
I bet none of the “big names,” (smirk, smirk) will want to talk to him.
KillgoreTrout
That is fantastic news, glenn! I’m very excited about that!
AdLib7 days ago
Ad–true dat. Can’t wait to hear JS’s take on those wonderful speakers trump has lined up. That is, if any of them actually show up.
glenn
KT – Knowing Stewart, he’ll mock them all brilliantly without needing to interview them.
AdLib7 days ago
Most likely!
KillgoreTrout
Hey Murph–are you there?
glenn
All the D listers will be there. I think one of the main speakers is going to be Cliff Claven, from Cheers!
KillgoreTrout
glenn – Tebow just announced he’s not a speaker at the RNC. Trump keeps lying about people speaking then, it will be such a bomb! But like any traffic accident, we won’t be able to look away.
AdLib7 days ago
Hey Murph!
AdLib7 days ago
It has been a while…..just came off of 3 days with no electricity…freak storm with microbursts took out key towers. It has been a very hard three days. Exhausted. But I thought I would unwind with the Planeteers…
MurphTheSurf3
Murph–oh my!
glenn
howdy Murph, come on in and set a spell!
KillgoreTrout
Wow, that’s messed up, Murph! Glad you could make it!
AdLib7 days ago
Hello Ad, Glenn, KT, and Beatlex
MurphTheSurf3
Trump’s spawn are supposed to speak. What an ego this guy’s got.
KillgoreTrout
No power means no water…..that was the hardest thing…and no AC which is the way I recover from a hard day outside.
MurphTheSurf3
AND no power means very little news…and no blogging…felt very cut off.
MurphTheSurf3
oh man, no AC would be brutal! Now that I’m an old fogey, I can’t take the heat and humidity like I could when I was younger.
KillgoreTrout
Maybe it did you some good murph. Sort of like a tech detox!
KillgoreTrout
KT…as you know I still work my gardens and while I do most of hard work from 5:30 AM to 9:30 AM…the other work keeps me in the heat until noon…and then I call it a day (and return to my current events addiction).
MurphTheSurf3
KT – Trump zombies will speak for him too, “Brains! Starving for Brains!”
AdLib7 days ago
Ad, that would be like a weekend at Jenny Craig!
KillgoreTrout
May I ask for a summary from someone about “our” thinking regarding the Comey/FBI decision not to recommend an indictment of Clinton? And the statement made by Comey?
MurphTheSurf3
Comey’s statement was ambiguous, at best!
KillgoreTrout
How do we feel about the Sanders endorsement?
MurphTheSurf3
All I can say is that what Hillary did was not the smartest thing, but I don’t believe there was ever any criminal intent.
KillgoreTrout
I say it’s about time Murph. It was inevitable, but I understand why Sanders held off for so long.
KillgoreTrout
KT I am in agreement re. your observations on Comey, Hillary’s judgment, and Sanders.
MurphTheSurf3
Agree with KT–and Comey’s statement wasn’t just ambiguous; it was a political statement meant to give some “comfort” to the righties who were screaming for Hillary’s scalp!
glenn
We have to not only win in November, but we must win by the largest landslide in American history. We need to shame the repubs into irrelevancy.
KillgoreTrout
Murph – There was no precedent to support criminal charges against Hillary. I think his public comments were wrong, it is only his job to state whether they are prosecuting someone or not.
AdLib7 days ago
Glenn…with you on that…I thought Comey was unhappy with the recommendation of his investigators but he could not overrule them so he editorialized.
MurphTheSurf3
And, now that Congress is in recess, at least we won’t hear about more committees. They’ll just take it up again in September. And, of course, we’ll hear about it at the gop convention, along with all of bill’s dalliances.
glenn
Ad…..I thought Comey was unhappy with the recommendation of his investigators but he could not overrule them so he editorialized. Agree with your thoughts.
MurphTheSurf3
Just when you think they can’t sink any lower, they do. Every time.
KillgoreTrout
As for the Sanders endorsement of Hillary, it was inevitable and appropriate. She has made major concessions to him, she has well earned his endorsement and support of his backers. She just needs to stay faithful to those.
AdLib7 days ago
KT–Ain’t that the truth? (about sinking lower and lower). At this point, they’re even lower than the cockroaches they keep spitting out!
glenn
We won’t let her forget, Ad!
KillgoreTrout
When I think of Trump’s VP search….a loser reviewing other losers to create a ticket…Pence was in BIG TROUBLE in Indiana and this run gives him a way out.
MurphTheSurf3
Lower than whale shit!
KillgoreTrout
Ad Lib…Sanders made CLinton a better Democrat.
MurphTheSurf3
to be fair Murph, Hillary has been a loyal democrat since her late college years.
KillgoreTrout
Ad–It was right for Hillary to make major concessions to Bernie; after all, he brought a lot of people into the Dem party. And, KT, you’re right–we definitely should not and will not let HIllary forget!
glenn
viva la revolutione!
KillgoreTrout
Murph – Think you may be right about Comey wanting to indict her but his people explaining it would be unprecedented.
AdLib7 days ago
KT…i agree but her shift with Bill in the Democratic Leadership Council to the Center Right of the Party…..Sanders (and Warren) pulled her back left.
MurphTheSurf3
Ad…Comey was on two investigations of Clinton in his younger years and there is no love lost there…..none.
MurphTheSurf3
Oh, no doubt. Yeah, she did waver there for a while, but so did the party itself.
KillgoreTrout
Murph – How does Pence help Trump in any way? He only appeals to the RW religious extremists who already are going to vote for Trump and turns off indies?
AdLib7 days ago
Glenn…if sanders can win over those who were with him, he will have widened the base of the party.
MurphTheSurf3
KT…agreed.
MurphTheSurf3
I often think Trump deliberately wants to lose. If he wins, he’ll have to work for a living.
KillgoreTrout
Murph–now it’s time for the country to go back to the left. IMO, the repubs have managed to control the narrative for far too long! Now we need to pull our media back to at least the center, because I know we’ll never get the media to go left!
glenn
KT – Nope, there’s no going back on supporting the Progressive principles Sanders promoted.
AdLib7 days ago
Another good thing for the left is the fading influence of the religious right. Most people in America are sick of their constant moralizing and hypocrisy!
KillgoreTrout
The owrld only spins forward Ad, never backwards.
KillgoreTrout
KT–you’re not the only one who thinks that about trump–I’ve read that many times. If ever there was a man who got in over his head, it’s trump. Isn’t it the “peter principle” that says people rise to the level of their incompetency? That’s trump in a nutshell. And I mean “in a nutshell” literally!
glenn
Ad….Pence was his only choice…Gingrich is another Trump but with are resume…..Christie the same and a bad record…..which left the seemingly legit guv of Ind (who knew he was unlikely to win) He adds nada, but the patina of legitimacy.
MurphTheSurf3
glenn – It was smart and practical of Hillary to embrace those providing the energy in the Dem Party and the path for the future of the party. To her credit, she resisted the Bernie Bashers who were dissing him and his supporters for not just conforming to her more centrist policies and candidacy. Hillary is showing she wants a bigger Dem Party and one more energized. Very smart.
AdLib7 days ago
That’s it glenn. The Peter Principle. Wow I haven’t heard that for a while.
KillgoreTrout
Ad–agreed. You can say many things about Clinton, but she is very smart!
glenn
Glenn…the Dems have a golden opportunity to really claim the Obama legacy…with a dynamic endorsement of CLiton as they claim their progressive legacy.
MurphTheSurf3
hillary certainly has her warts, but I think we’re lucky to have her.
KillgoreTrout
Murph–the best thing you can say about Pence is at least he has governing experience, both in Congress and as a governor. That’s what trump needed most; not that I expect trump to ask Pence for advice. Just, as you say, it adds the patina of legitimacy.
glenn
The Pence choice just ensured that even more women will vote against Trump. What was the Big Yam thinking?
KillgoreTrout
Murph, right, Comey doesn’t like the Clintons and is not a good guy (he’s been a demogogue about BLM). Not surprising he did as much damage as he could when he couldn’t indict her.
AdLib7 days ago
KT–isn’t that a rhetorical question? The big yam thinking?
glenn
True dat, glenn.
KillgoreTrout
DOES TRUMP WANT TO LOSE…No, no, no…BUT I don’t he can see a path to winning (nor can those who advise him, or the GOP) so he will put on a show, a continuation of the kind of show he put on with the birther business- he will spin the loss…he will claim he won but was cheated….he will be Palin on steroids.
MurphTheSurf3
Hey, speaking of not thinking–what do you all suppose gwb was thinking when he was dancing at the memorial service for the police officers?
glenn
KT – Like a priveleged elitist, Trump wants all the cool stuff from being President but wants the peons to do the actual work.
AdLib7 days ago
Hey was drunk, glenn. No more white house duties, and all that!
KillgoreTrout
Murph–of course when trump loses, it will be the fault of someone, or something, else. The party of “personal responsibility” never takes personal responsibility for anything.
glenn
Trump will blame Muslim sympathizers and the queeries!
KillgoreTrout
Murph – Yep but what’s in it for Pence, aside from avoiding losing the race for Gov of IN.
AdLib7 days ago
And, I will be very happy to take personal responsibility for trump losing!
glenn
Me too, me too!
KillgoreTrout
Pence served in government but he was a lack luster representative who dreamed of taking down Boehner….never came close but he looked the part and was put up as “governor” looking candidate. He won but was never able to manage the office in a meaningful way.
MurphTheSurf3
He looks more to me like a high ranking SS officer. Seriously!
KillgoreTrout
Glenn…very well put…responsible? Not us!
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Great overview of the Trump Show!
AdLib7 days ago
Ad–what’s in it for pence is that he gets to spout the teaparty lines all over again. Doesn’t matter that he can’t govern; he can spit out those tp talking points with the best of them.
glenn
Put him in one of those fancy black uniforms with the white piping!
KillgoreTrout
Ad….I think that Pence has been promised a lot by the establishment…the big money folks too….represent the GOP on the ticket and we will pay you back.
MurphTheSurf3
KT–ooh, I do so love a man in uniform! /s/
glenn
Thanks Ad.
MurphTheSurf3
He might ask you to further the Master Race, glenn.
KillgoreTrout
Glenn…another connection to Palin.
MurphTheSurf3
glenn – But how blind can he be to going down in history as part of the worst Repub ticket ever that loses horribly? I know he probably sees this as his last political gasp but who wants to be remembered as an awful, racist-buddy loser? Isn’t it better not to be remembered than remembered terribly?
AdLib7 days ago
Murph–pay him back how? Seems to me the party can’t even afford their own convention. And, if the election goes as hoped, with more Dems in the House and Senate, there won’t be any kind of perks for repubs. Or, at least I hope so!
glenn
It didn’t work out so well for Dan Quail!
KillgoreTrout
Murph – Makes sense but that disgusting stain of Trump will never come off Pence. Talk about selling your soul for a few pieces of gold.
AdLib7 days ago
KT–Time for the Mistress Race, dontcha think?
glenn
Maybe Pence really is as dumb as he looks!
KillgoreTrout
KT–kinda like trump, huh?
glenn
i’m always in favor of more women!
KillgoreTrout
Peas in a pod!
KillgoreTrout
KT–more women in positions of power!
glenn
Ad.- Trump has shown time and again that he is incapable of long term thinking…so the concern about legacy that you spelled out to Glenn is foreign territory for him. It is all about short term glory.
MurphTheSurf3
KT–Dan, who?
glenn
Sure, why not. You can’t screw things up any worse than men have.
KillgoreTrout
you say potato, I say potatoe!
KillgoreTrout
Thanks for the vote of confidence!
glenn
LOL!
KillgoreTrout
Glenn….big money, a tea party following, and a credible showing as the VP candidate could provide the basis for a political comeback and it will certainly provide a path to riches.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – Yep, Trump only looks at what he can profit from today even if he goes bankrupt tomorrow but Pence can’t see his destroying his reputation forever?
AdLib7 days ago
Yeah, look at the millions Palin has grifted since being picked by McCain.
KillgoreTrout
Speaking of Women in Power…….what think ye of the New PM of the UK?
MurphTheSurf3
Ad–to answer your question, isn’t it better not to be remembered than remembered terribly? Apparently not, in the gop world. And, he can get hired at many of the right’s best “think tanks” or even as a pundit on one of the right’s radio or tv stations. There’s always room for more “experts” on the right.
glenn
I don’t know anything about her.
KillgoreTrout
Murph – Maybe Pence has been fooled into believing that but it’s crazy, he will always be associated with the racist, misogynist, foul mouthed running mate of his. He has no political future. What blind men the blindly ambitious are.
AdLib7 days ago
Ad….indeed….forTrump it is all about leveraging branding…but Pence is a dead end (I Know that he tried to get interest going in a Senatorial bid for him but the trail was cold).
MurphTheSurf3
The tea party is dwindling too, I think. They’re running out of hot air. Trump stole their glory.
KillgoreTrout
Murph and Ad–do you think trump has screwed the pooch with his “branding”? What do you think his name will be “worth” after the election?
glenn
Murph – May is a far rightist with mostly domestic experience damaging the UK, she’s helped bring on Johnson to handle international affairs…a disaster waiting to happen.
AdLib7 days ago
Ad…..I have learned that for the GOP the kind of mosh pit that Pence has jumped into is not a permanent impediment.
MurphTheSurf3
at least not in the private sector, Murph.
KillgoreTrout
glenn – Usually I’d agree with that, with other politicians but Pence is so boring, I can’t imagine him having any future in media.
AdLib7 days ago
Murph–I think the new PM has shown what she’s made of by appointing Johnson to handle foreign affairs. As Ad says, it’s a disaster waiting to happen. What do you know of her efforts on Brexit?
glenn
Ad…I think the same…her emerging is not good news for the center or the left in anyway…she is another Iron Lady. I think she drove Cameron from 10 Downing.
MurphTheSurf3
There’s always FOX, Ad. They don’t hire rocket scientists.
KillgoreTrout
Shit, they even gave Ollie North a job!
KillgoreTrout
Ad–as long as they put Pence on a couch with the short skirted blondes, nobody cares what he says.
glenn
KT and Glenn….nailed it….The GOP, what was my home, is sordid slum now.
MurphTheSurf3
That’s probably true for most of their “senior,’ viewership. Old guys trying to remember why they got excited.
KillgoreTrout
glenn – I think Trump’s supporters would indeed keep supporting him if he drove a truck down 5th avenue and killed 100 people. His supporters would support this virtual terrorist because they sinply want him to tear down our society to act out their resentment and ignorance. Nothing will turn that 20% or so from their self-destructive dreams. They vote Repub, don’t they? Against their own interests. They are fools easily manipulated by their emotions and not one word of logic can penetrate their emotional outburst towards today’s America.
AdLib7 days ago
gotta burn down the village to save it, Ad! Everybody says so!
KillgoreTrout
My friends in the UK are really distressed. They believe that Scotland will demand a semi-autonomous status that will permit their joining the EU and that the Republic of Ireland will welcome renewed rumblings for an Irish Re-Union. Even Wales which has its own Parliament is sounding disenchanted.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – But Pence will lose in every way. He will be the establishment guy to the Tea Partiers that isn’t nasty enough and be disliked by indie voters for being so stupidly RW. He has no charisma, no future long term in media, he may think there will be a big payoff and been promised it but when he and Trump lose massively, he will be branded a disaster.
AdLib7 days ago
Ad…very good summary of the nihilist wing of the GOP…..an increasingly influential one.
MurphTheSurf3
Ad–agreed. It is a sad indictment of a portion of our nation that they can allow themselves to be manipulated so shamelessly by such a charlatan. However, whenever I read of the charlatans that came out of the woodwork during and after the Great Depression of the 20’s, I don’t see much difference between them and trump. Just thought we were more aware of that nowadays, and could counteract it with facts and logic. But, as you say, facts and logic don’t seem to penetrate to some people.
glenn
Ad…I think your assessment is spot on but Pence has already shown that his political moxie is second rate….
MurphTheSurf3
Murph – I agree with them, I think Scotland will leave the UK and at least Northern Ireland will too, if not a united Ireland (which is a bit more complicated).
AdLib7 days ago
Thanks Murph!
AdLib7 days ago
The Irish won’t unite. They’re Irish!
KillgoreTrout
The idea of a Irish Re-Union, looks to a county based confederation focused on economic development……
MurphTheSurf3
i’ll believe it when I see it Murph!
KillgoreTrout
Ad–I think that in the sense that they can’t think and plan long term, both trump and pence are soul mates. I think he has convinced himself, in some fashion, that he is with the “people’s choice” and they will somehow win the presidency–shudder! As you say, “there are none so blind…”
glenn
My friends, who are also academics, also see that such an a re-Union, could involve Scotland as well. The Scotch-Irish connection is a real one and joint economic interests could make them strong players in the EU and further reduce English influence.
MurphTheSurf3
What do you all think the GOP convention will look like….?
MurphTheSurf3
The OK Corral?
KillgoreTrout
Murph–there is a parallel here with the US. As in the Scottish and Irish perhaps connecting to bring about a strong economic union. Which only makes the righties in the UK want “their country (kingdom?) back!
glenn
glenn – This is unfortunately, a natural cycle in human history. The pendulum swings and once there has been an economic imbalance, a crash or massive inequality, those craving power whip up those who are hurting against “the others” purely to use their suffering to elevate themselves and their power/wealth. As you point out, the massive inequity and economic crash of the 1920’s along with Germany’s economic problems setup Hitler and WWII, Mussolini and isolationism here in the US. History doesn’t repeat itself exactly but it could be sued for copyright infringement.
AdLib7 days ago
KT…I like the gunfight imagery.
MurphTheSurf3
Murph–lots of sound and fury with no substance. And a few fireworks.
glenn
Murph – Good point, Pence has shown how inept he is at running his political career, trashing any possibility of re-election in IN. Why should we expect him to be smart about this?
AdLib7 days ago
Glenn….yes….the bum’s rush that Cameron got speaks to a hardening of the hard line…which will further support the kind of thinking you name.
MurphTheSurf3
the SS will not allow guns inside the convention, but outside, that’s legal in Ohio. What a setting, a bunch of whacked out Trump supporters with AR-15s and Glocks! What could go wrong?
KillgoreTrout
Ad…another connection with Palin I think.
MurphTheSurf3
I think the GOP convention will be like a too-awful-not-to-watch Celebrity Apprentance episode. Will Gary Busey be speaking? Stay tuned!
AdLib7 days ago
Ad–I agree it’s a cycle; not so sure it’s “natural”. However, I just cannot understand those who lived through WWII not making that connection. I realize that most of them are deceased, or nearly so, but people my age–in their 60’s and 70’s–are close to that period of history and should remember their parents’/grandparents’ memories of those times. This is why I don’t understand the loyal fox viewers. I don’t want to go back to that time; why do they?
glenn
What’s the name of that vacuous blonde that used to be on SNL, and is now a RW “spokesperson?”
Yep! That’s her. Will she be speaking? I wonder why Ted Nugent and Sarah Palin won’t be speaking? Hmmmmm!
KillgoreTrout
glenn – Natural in the sense that when the 1% tries to dominate the majority using their own democracy and economy against them, the resulting anger finds a way to escape. The criminality of oppressing the majority isn’t natural but the reaction of anger is expected.
AdLib7 days ago
See Dallas!
KillgoreTrout
KT – Of course, Palin has got to be speaking! Someone’s got to make Trump look reasonable and rational.

Do you think there will be violence outside the RNC?
AdLib7 days ago
Oh I hope she does. She’s better than word puzzles.

KT–don’t know about nugent, but palin won’t be speaking because “Alaska is too far” for her to travel to Ohio. Yes, that’s what trump actually said. Of course, it may have something to do with the fact that palin’s trigger–oops, I mean her son trig–got just arrested for domestic violence.

I think there very possibly could be Ad, especially if there are a lot of protesters.

“And now, the RNC presents Trump advisor and color coordinator, David Duke!”
AdLib7 days ago

glenn – Yes, demogoguery after oppressing the majority and trying to re-route their justified anger from them to minorities.
AdLib7 days ago
“just got”–not “got just” Holy shit, I’m starting to sound like her!

KT – Chris Christie is there to refill his buffet plate in the RNC green room.
AdLib7 days ago
Ad–I know you’re correct about that; but isn’t it sad that we somehow can’t break that “natural cycle”?
glenn

I wonder if Trump has a little bell that he rings, when he wants Christie for something.

glenn – What we learned from the 1980’s is that the wealthy and powerful and evil are never permanently defeated, they are constantly at war with the majority to take their power and wealth. We thought we could move forward victoriously on civil rights, women’s rights, protecting the Earth, social protections for the most vulnerable, etc. but the 80’s and since proved they mist always be defended.
AdLib7 days ago
Yeah, you too glenn. See ya later.

Ok, see you then! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
As a great way to share this experience, PlanetPOV is hosting a live chat (live typed comments) tonight to discuss the night's results as they come in along with everything else this election will bring and what folks think it will mean for the future.
It is long past time to stop playing Trump’s game of racism, hate, misogyny, and abject greed. If Trump is elected, he will end democracy as we know it. Harris will preserve it and work to make it better and far more inclusive so we can have it, as Lincoln said, a more perfect union. It will only happen if you vote.
